Property Ratings at Glen Cove Apartments
They lied about the rent and the lights the landlord lady was very rude and nasty about my move in I feel like if you want what you paid for then this is not the best place for you
I dont know why there are bad ratings. I have been living at glen cove for about 5 years. nichole is very nice and always takes care of what I need. i dont think she has a disrespectful bone in her body. i had a problem with ants n flies in my home and it was resolved quickly. i will agree that some of the halls arent in the best condition, but they were renovated right after i moved in. she can not control how messy our fellow neighbors are. the building has had many upgrades in the time i have been here. i think some of you need to understand what comes along with renting, especially an apartment. people are gonna do what they wanna do. sometimes those things are out of another individuals control. i hope this review is helpful!
I don’t know where to start this place is so terrible. This place isn’t even in proper condition for people to live in. I’ve never been so upset about being locked into a 1 year lease. I don’t know where to start. 1st, we knew at the viewing that it wasn’t the most spiffed place but it was ok. They bring you through the front entrance because it’s the only one that looks halfway decent. So you think you’re getting a decent space, we went along with it. So move in day comes we get to our unit and it’s not even in living condition. Everything and I mean everything was dirty from the kitchen sink to my window ledges every part of my unit was dirty. I had to clean everything myself and I mean deep clean and that didn’t work there is still a horrid smell. The toilet in the unit is rusted to the point it won’t come out from the inside of it. The hallways are filthy people leaving trash and halfway eaten food in the hallways. The doors are worn down to the T, they are scratched and marked up it’s looks so terrible. The carpet is supposed to be brown but it is dark black. I am embarrassed about staying in this place and I can’t even stand that I have to stay in here for the next 11 months. I may have to look into legal action to get out of here. This place is ridiculous. Homeless people stay on the stairwells because the doors and not secure you are not safe in this apartment. Worst decision of my life so far we were deceived I wouldn’t recommend this space to anyone.
this company is by far the worst and very unprofessional. when prior to moving in they did a rush job on cleaning i had mold on my kitchen stink they didn’t fixed nothing properly . they had bed bugs and tried to blame it on me wouldn’t move me to another unit .Nicole is Very disrespect and also her boss which is owner . the halls constantly smell like weed. the gate is always shutting down i had to call off work a few times because i was snowed in my parking stop . unless you like Nastiness move here but it’s better stuff out here for the price they charged
I have been at glen cove since 2013. i believe new owners bought the building in 2015. by end end of 2016 they installed security cameras at all of the building doors and installed emergency lights in all of the hallways for when there is a power outage. they also recarpeted all of the common hallways and repainted all of the halls. this past fall, all of our security systems in our apartments were upgraded at no charge to us. last week all of the entry lobby floors were redone, which look so nice. the apartment manager and owner also eliminated our water bills, which the previous management company started charging us. 4 years ago this building was run down and disgusting. now i am not embarrassed to have company over. making improvements to the place i call home is very important to me when i decide whether or not i want to renew my lease every year. the manager also sends lease renewals out early, giving you plenty of time to make a decision. the last place i stayed didnt even give me 30 days to decide so by the time i turned it in i had to stay another month and pay an extra fee before i moved. the manager is also very understanding and nice.
I lived here from 8/2012 to 2/2018. The new management company was very accommodating to my needs and The young lady in the front office was the best!! But it is a very noisy apartment at least the unit I was in was. But if you’re in a tight spot and need a place to live you can’t beat the price.
I moved into Glen Cove in the beginning of 2010. In early 2015, new owners and management have came in and made improvements to the building. They have put in emergency lights in the hallways which are great because when the building loses power you cannot see. Now when we lose power we are not walking into walls and feel safer walking through the building when it is dark. They are also in the middle of renovating our halls with new paint and carpet. It looks wonderful. We have a gated property with functioning alarms in the apartments. The new owners have also installed security cameras for added security. I have never felt unsafe here, but the cameras make me feel that much safer for myself and young son. I read a review about a rent increase. If you call around to other complexes, they will tell you that rent occasionally increases when the market of the area does. My rent increased early this year when I renewed my lease, but I dont mind because I see that my increase is actually going towards something and not just in the owners pockets. Management is great. She respects you and does she can in her power to make you happy and fix errors. Another review mentioned water being off. I was home when the water was turned off. Naturally I called the office to see what was going on, she said that she had no notice from the water department. She is ALWAYS good at giving us a heads up and handing out notices when she knows something. She called each resident individually when our carpet in our hallways was replaced (I know this from speaking to my neighbors about how nice she is), so Im sure she didnt know about the water shut off. I wanted to give a long, thorough review for Glen Cove apartments because they have come such a long way in just a little over a year and a half. They need the recognition they deserve!
I would highly recommend this building It seems that new owners have come in and spent money fixing up the building. It is well lit and new carpets and wallpaper in the hall ways and it definitely is worth the money
I'm in a apartment do not have a elevator I'm on third floor, the first we move there it was ok.but move young people in it was older people in, but now it's not I want move in a place where my daughter can come from school she do not have wrongly about other people bother her.
Hello, I currently live in the Glen Cove apartments in Detroit, mi. I absolutely hate it. They over charge me for everything, including water and now my rent is going up. I'm a new mom of a beautiful 2year old and between getting what she needs and working to pay bills, its hard sometimes to maintain. Last week our water was off due to construction and the leasing office didn't even inform any of the tenants, and when they said, they simply said it was out of their control. My water wasn't turned back on completely until that following Friday. I felt that was so unacceptable and i wouldn't advise anyone to live here, it really sucks.
