Property Manager at Glenmuir of Naperville Apartments, Responded To This Review
Thank you for the fantastic review of Loni and the Glenmuir of Naperville Apartments Team!
Lived here since 2012. Always feels like home and my service requests get taken care of quickly.
Property Manager at Glenmuir of Naperville Apartments, Responded To This Review
We're glad Glenmuir of Naperville Apartments feels like home! Thanks for highlighting our response maintenance team and wonderful community. Here's to many more happy years together!
Aside from being shown a different unit than provided, new managements inability to handle any work orders, peet infestations, lowest interior quality than all of Naperville, trash everywhere, poor customer care, rude staff, accidentally double rented a unit, an entire unit left sitting totally fire damaged, a manager that refuses to work, and an abundance of legal issues, you would be a fool to move at the glenmuir. New management has made a terrible situation even worse. If you have any sense, RUN!
Horrible management. Management has no clue what they're doing and work orders never get completed. We have had a drier broken for the last three months and placed requests multiple times and no one ever came to fix it. We moved into a new apartment a few months back and the carpet was dirty, the paint job wasn't done, and even after multiple complaints no one ever came to see it. Toilet seats were broken, the fridge was broken even after showing pics they didn't do anything.
This complex knows how to completely screw you over and remain within the contract through their RBS payment. Whatever moving deal they offer you go ahead and plan on making up for it in your RBS payment. Mine doubled in one year. It’s not just utilities they charge you $45 a month for valet trash whether you use it or not and they are trying to add basic Internet to it. When you move in take video and pictures of everything (tack size holes, tiny holes in the screen, paint imperfections, and anything less than brand new carpet) they charge everybody to replace and repair and then they don’t take care of it so they can charge the next person. Air conditioners have to be fixed on a regular basis, mice are a big problem, floors on the second story are very weak, you can hear entire heated conversations of neighbors, police show up all the time. The only thing luxury about this complex are the attitudes of the staff they will talk down to you and make it feel like a complement. Worst department experience of my life. They love to brag that they’re 98% full but they are nowhere near that just walk through the complex and you can tell by lack of floor mats and decorations on balconies how very many are empty. Consider yourself warned!
Do not move here if you want quiet time at your apartment. We got the loudest neighbor upstairs and called management several times for noise complaints and nothing has been done. Our walls and ceiling shake with all the stomping and running, we can’t sleep at night or work during the day but they don’t care for our mental health or our infant. We can’t wait to move out of here. We had such a wonderful time the first year but since we moved to a different unit and started calling the office, everything changed. You can tell they’re exhausted of us calling but we’re way more exhausted of living with this noise all day.
Just moved in recently and all the staff have been extremely helpful, from the office staff to the maintenance folks. Prime location that is near to any and everything you could need.
When I moved in, the apartment was dirty, smelling, there were some stains on the carpet and blinds were broken, etc. When moving out, guess what?! They charged me on the carpet stains, broken blinds and a high RBS fee for my last 15 days in the apartment. AVOID IT! Run away of this place. and If you still want to rent an unit there, make sure you reported to them every single detail of blinds, carpet and cleaning conditions, etc prior to your move!
I have been mistreated as a resident since literally day one. I was not given copies of the lease or any paperwork, they tried charging me a late fee on my 1st month's rent when nothing was explained to me. I was yelled at by one representative. I have spoken to the operations manager, who is very professional, but is the only one who has a clue about customer service. I even called corporate and was ignored. This place is expensive and not worth the money. A lot of people have been moving out, so what does that tell you? Beware and consider other places in Naperville.
We moved here and it’s been nothing but A plus rating! Office staff is great and property is awsome!! They went above and beyond to make my faimly feel welcome! We have been here 3 months now and we couldn’t be happier!!!!
This apartment complex will not work with you in any way, I signed a lease that handy even started yet and I called them to let them know I lost my job and they won’t cancel the lease. They are unwilling to work with me or make arrangements. I haven’t paid any rent or deposit and they are being so inconsiderate of the current climate. I hope their proud of themselves after all of this is over. Save your money and time, apartments are run down and dirty.
The property manager MICHELLE is extremely rude and unprofessional. I have never dealt with such a substandard company in all of my leasing experience. The apartment I moved into came with several major flaws. For example the balcony railing was falling off and was never fixed. Please save yourself the hassle and rent with a complex that appreciates your business and takes care of their facility
Terrible experience for the entire time that I lived there. The old property manager was awful and the new one Michelle is a different kind of terrible. She’s extremely RUDE and condescending. Maintenance does not fix things problems or either won’t do it in a timely manner. Ive went days without proper heating or hot water in the winter because they tried to mask over issues. It took my water heater leaking into my neighbors garage and on the verge of busting for them to finally replace it. I’ve been in the office and heard several other tenants complaining about their problems not being fixed either. I would NOT recommend living here. They tried to increase my rent by $150 initially to get me to renew. Oh yeah, the workout room didn’t have Air Conditioning for the entire summer. Please reconsider moving in here and don’t fall for the initial gimmicks they provide in the beginning to get you to sign.
Maintenance team is absolutely terrible. Attics are not insulated so during the summer months even though your AC unit works the cold air doesn't reach your apartment. They will continually tell you they are trying to work on the maintenance issue. It has been over a month and a half and the person they were trying to find to insulate our attic is no where to be found. Paying $1,800+ in rent you would think they would be better at fixing maintenance issues instead of giving open ended promises. We can't wait until our first year lease is up and move elsewhere.
I quickly found out that the maintenance here is simply non-existent. I spent 6 weeks shaving and showering in the dark waiting for my bathroom light to be fixed. I spent four 4 weeks cooking in the dark waiting for my kitchen light to be fixed. I was unable to get into my storage closet for 3 weeks waiting for the doorknob to be fixed. And the toilet keep running until I fixed it myself at my own expense. My air conditioner has never worked. Maintenance comes and recharges the Freon and it works good for 10 days and then I spend three weeks in an 80 degree apartment waiting for them to come back and recharge it again. This has been an endless cycle since I moved in. In addition there is no snow removal. The sidewalks and parking areas will be a an icy hazard for the entire winter. And the trash is picked up far too infrequently. The dumpsters will be overflowing and the garbage piling up on the ground. This has created a large wildlife population. I don't mind the squirrels and racoons, but my dog has been sprayed by a skunk twice now. There are several other apartments within walking distance, any of which would be a better choice. Avoid this place at all cost.
We moved here a few months ago, and I must say it was totally a bad decision. The management is rude is mannerless, especially so their manager Ms. Michelle. They never turn up for repairs, and according to them your urgency is never their priority.
I love the location because its close to my job. The management (Michelle) is so friendly and makes good on her promise when service is needed or scheduled. Complex is clean and very friendly.
I find GlenMuir Luxury Apts to be of HIGH quality, staff are quite nice and dedicated. Property Manager is kind and willing to walk the extra mile to keep the residents happy. New remodelled apts are neat, clean, elegant and grandier looking. Central to all other places of interest. Nequa Valley School is at walking distance. Net Net, I am very happy to move-in here and having a great time. Will give a 5 STAR rating and surely recommend it to others. Sam Bala
Glenmuir’s residents are blessed to have Mike as part of their maintenance team. He not only takes pride and ownership in his work - he genuinely cares about the residents and will assist anyway he can! Very personable and takes that extra step to make you happy. THANK YOU MIKE!!
I was needing a place to move in Naperville for the summer for an internship and could not be happier that I was able to get a short term lease at Glenmuir. The staff was extremely helpful and made the process super easy. The apartments are in a nice community and the extra amenities at the club house are perfect! If I decide to take an offer in Naperville after school, I will definitely be moving back next summer!
My husband and I are really enjoying living at Glenmuir! The apartment was thoroughly cleaned upon arrival, and is the perfect size. It has very nice appliances -- we love having a gas stove! The landscaping outside is also beautifully maintained, and great for walks. It's also a quiet community in a great location next to places to eat, a movie theater, shops, and a local library. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Definitely recommended!
I’ve been waiting for 3wks for my guest bathtub to get fixed. Contacted the Leasing Office this past Thursday at 5pm stating that my dryer wasn’t working - the female responded with “We are very busy in the Leasing Office right now - your dryer not working isn’t an emergency - we will get to it when we can” ... I asked for “MK” to call me before they closed at 7pm and it’s now Saturday and I haven’t heard anything from them! My dryer (and bathtub) still need to be fixed and Maintenance won’t be back until Tuesday due to the holiday on Monday. Thank you for making me feel like my concerns don’t matter and appreciate having to now go to a laundry mat on a holiday weekend and 90 degrees outside! You rent an apartment to have onsite maintenance and to have your requests addressed in a timely professional fashion. This is why I’m supposedly paying such outrageous rent. I can rent a house for the amount I’m currently paying. The trash area is beyond disgusting! Old mattresses and couches stay out there for weeks before they’re removed. It’s a complete waste of time even addressing the lack of maintenance and snippy and sassy office staff. They say management will be informed but management is the problem here! Doesn’t anyone see that?!!? Even left a message at the corporate offices (over 1 month ago) and never received a returned call. All I can say is WOW!
This is one of my best renting experiences in the past few years. Location is good and neighborhood is safe and quiet, so everything is convenient. We were lucky to have this very unit facing southeast, which provides the best lighting during the day and a great view of the lake near the apartment. Staff are very friendly and have helped us a lot during our stay in Glenmuir, which we really appreciate.
The units are clean and spacious. Washer and dryer, and brand new stainless appliances are in unit. We were drawn to Glenmuir because the area is safe and close to great shopping, dining, and the expressway if you're commuting to Chicago. The office staff are friendly and professional.
we had to rent sight unseen, and we could not be happier. the location, the space, the grounds and the staff are great. chaz was wonderful in sending us pictures and helping us decide and transition to glenmuir from out of state. he went the extra mile to help. we love the garage and the amount of walking trails in the area. MK and bri have been great in helping also. maintenance has been good in helping. this area is nice, as stores and restaurants are close, but yet it is very quiet on the grounds and traffic is not bad. steve
My family moved in at the end of 2017 but have been in love with this place since our first tour in May. The office worked hard to give us the apartment in our budget that matched everything we wanted. The office staff is amazing! Super accommodating and all around great people. We love our apartment very spacious, great updates, perfect fit for our family. It's a quiet community so no issues with noise and if there is the neighbors are very friendly. It's in the perfect location 10 minutes from Plainfield and 8-10 minutes from Aurora. You can walk to the library and stores. The only issues I've had and the reason why I won't give a full 5 stars are: * wasn't cleaned properly when I moved in * they use cheap paint so if water splashes on it, it appears stained and you must repaint it * they need more staff for maintenance Other than that we love it here and hopefully if the rent stays reasonable can see ourselves here for awhile.
The apartment I was going to be living in was COMPLETELY trashed. I have a two year old daughter so cleanliness was a HUGE concern of mine. Glenmuir completely flipped the place replacing basically everything in the apartment from the blinds to carpets and the appliances and made it a beautiful place for my daughter and I to live. I have had some issues with the maintenance staff and not properly hooking things up correctly, or not finishing the job. BUT, Chaz and Bri have made it completely tolerable. Super friendly and always know who I am when I call and all I ever say is my first name. THEY ARE AMAZING and have helped me in every aspect of the way. They are truly the rockstars of Glenmuir!!!!
This place has exceeded my expectations and some! Staff is extremely friendly and have treated me as family since I walked in the door! Facility’s are absolutely beautiful and so glad my boyfriend and I decided to move to glenmuir!
I am very pleased with Glenmuir or Naperville, especially the property manager. I had a few issues but after speaking with her they were taken care of right away. I am very glad I moved here and plan on renewing my lease. I would recommend this place to family and friends.
I will start with the only positive thing I have to say: the interiors of the apartments are nice with upgraded appliances & granite counter tops. That being said, a nice apartment does not make a home. As one of the few tenants that stayed at Glenmuir through the ownership transition 3.5 years ago, we saw this place go from great to total nightmare. The management team here turns over along with the seasons, so you will never have a trusting relationship with the people who provide you your home. Our monthly payments increased 30% in 3 years (including common utility expenses). The maintenance team chooses when you actually need service - during a 90 degree day we were told it was simply too hot outside for the air conditioner to keep up and there wasn't anything wrong with the unit. We had mandatory annual walk through's for unit inspection, for which a member of the staff failed to show up on three separate occasions, causing my husband and I to miss work. When they finally did make the appointment, it was to pressure us to sign our lease that night to get promotional pricing. (don't fall for this - we got the same price the following two months) When we finally had enough and decided to move, we were told that our lease agreement had been forged by an employee. Getting someone to even do a final walk through took daily calls that were never returned. We have now been out of the apartment for three months and are still dealing with them. I have never posted a review, but I have also never been treated so poorly. I often take negative reviews with a grain of salt, but if you are considering signing a lease with Glenmuir just sit in the leasing office for an hour and listen to the number of tenants coming in with complaints and make your own decision.
I moved in last year and just recently resigned another 1 year lease. The whole team there from Management to Maintenance have been and still are very knowledgeable, responsive, and friendly. Every time I walk into the clubhouse, whether it was for a package, maintenance request, or a rent question, I am always greeted on a first name basis and am taken care of in a timely manner. It's nice that they are so professional while taking the time to get to know you as a person and make it a welcoming atmosphere. Not only is the staff exceptional, but Glenmuir has great amenities right on site, including a pool and a gym and both are maintained very well. If you are looking for an apartment with great staff, location, and great value, I highly recommend Glenmuir!
We moved before a month in this community but all I can say is that I’m truly disappointed. When we entered the apartment for the first time, even though they gave us the keys after 12:00 p.m. in order to clean and made everything perfect the place was a mess -dirty and disgusting. It takes me two days to make it normal to live in it. They made move-in inspection checklist with issues that have to be fixed( things which is supposed to be fixed before we moved in, they are not unexpected): 1) Cheap carpet – frayed with stains-action taken – none; 2) Gap between the front door and the wall which is not so comfortable when outside the temperature is 12 F - action taken – none. One guy came to explain me that they order something special to fix it but it takes time to deliver it. I hope that will happen before the winter end. 3) It took them 3 weeks to fix the key for our p.o. box. 4) Outside light is not working-action taken-none. We try to change the bulb, but the problem obviously is with electricity. 5) The Playground area is with broken benches and the wooden chips is in very bad condition and so on, and so on. I think the description ‘luxury’ is a bit over the top and you guys have a lot work to do in order to reach this level!!!!!!!
I just recently moved into the area, and love the staff at the leasing office. They were so understanding and helpful during my move to help me find the perfect apartment. Also, they were quick to answer all of my questions along with getting maintenance out to fix certain things. I would definitely recommend moving into this apartment!
Don't even bother going to this place. Why 1) Poor Management 2) Very Rude 3) Wont give your security deposit back (will make fake excuses) 4) There are better places go there 5) Don't stick to promises during sale process
I moved here after renting for the past four years at a place that didn't care about the residents let alone the apartments. The staff is great to deal with. They are always friendly and willing to help. The grounds are always kept clean. The maintenance staff is always on top of fixing things. Would recommend this place to anyone.
I am a current resident. Only a few things are broken in otherwise a wonderful place to life. All issues were reported (its been at least 6-8 weeks since): 1) Cheap carpet - staples popping and hurting all over. action taken - none 2) Broken microwave, they didn't care to fix it for 6 weeks 3) old and dysfunctional washer, dryer -we have to wash 2 times, dry 3 times - resulting in damaged clothes. action taken - none 4) broken light - action taken: none 5) upgrade promised , action taken: none 6) water hammer on toilet flush - action taken: none 7) given unclean apartment. action taken: none 8) dish washer - stinks from stagnant water. action taken: none 9) ants all over. action taken: bought ant powder for us. is it safe to use in the kitchen, don't think so! 10) one of the dirtiest pool in the US in my experience. dirt and dust on the pool floor and unclean pool area. guess what, they just poured water in the hole 11) broken gym. 5 of the 10 equipment are broken. action taken: none
Dont go to this apt. They wont give you the apt in good condition. They will cheat you.
Worst Apartment. They cheated us. When they showed me the unit they said its new carpet and when we signed the lease and at the time if walk thru sge said its old carpet. They didnt clean the unit. As we have signed the lease we have no other option. Please dont consider this apartment.
Having asthma and allergies is bad enough. I had to pay for my own carpet cleaner, as they refused to compensate, who came in and smelled dog and showed me the dirt that was being lifted from the carpets. He also says that transfers to the paint. The place stunk so bad carpets should have been replaced. Isn't that what the previous tenants security deposit was for? All appliances dented and touch up paint on walls really tacky. This place was a beaut when it opened years ago now outdated and smelly!
Most ridiculous community I ever moved to. When I entered the apt for the first time, they didn't have the apt clean, kitchen stove was greasy and filthy.... The refrigerator was disgusting, black mold and fungus was growing inside. Apart from that, about rent payment system, I was told that 3rd of the month is the last day before late fee is applied, on 2nd the call saying $150 late fee has been charged. They call when late fee is applied but not a courtesy on the 1st. All rental properties/business/banks waive off first late fee.... BUT GLENMUIR. Best part, they have put "VOTED#1" banner out on the street. I really leave it upto you guys to judge that.
