About Goat Blocks
The Goat Blocks pays homage to its unique history dating back to the 1920s when local farmers and Italian restauranteurs came together to form a co-op across two city blocks in SE Portland. The area became known as Portland's very own "Little Italy" and home to a bustling bazaar where retailers, farmers, and wholesalers met to do business together. After a fire destroyed the block in 2002, the property sat vacant until years later. In 2012, a herd of goats was brought in as an environmentally friendly way to maintain the grass field. The neighborhood affectionately dubbed the area Goat Blocks, which today aptly describes this diverse, mixed-use, apartment community we invite you to call home.The Goat Blocks offers studio, one, two, and three-bedroom apartments and townhomes for rent across four distinct buildings in Portlands progressive Central Eastside. Property Ratings at Goat Blocks
I'm deeply disappointed with the management of this apartment complex. Multiple security incidents, including package theft, threats from another tenant, and car vandalism, have been inadequately addressed. The property management has consistently failed to follow up on these serious issues or provide necessary security measures. Security cameras were installed all over the property in 2022, but the staff is so negligent that they are unwilling to take the time to review captured video, rendering them useless. I've attempted to resolve these matters directly, but have been ignored. I strongly advise potential residents to reconsider their choice.

Goat blocks apartments are beautiful, the location is perfect, but the staff are unhelpful and the security in the building is horrendous. There are constant break ins and thefts and nothing is done about it.

The Goat Blocks is a fantastic property, centrally located in Southeast Portland and within walking distance of many business, has a good community feel and vibe, and the property and surrounding area feels clean and safe. These are clean beautiful apartments in a great location. There are nice amenities like gardens and rooftop barbecue places. I would definitely recommend go blocks to a friend.

I never saw myself living in a big building like this, but I actually really love it! It's easier to justify the cost with my own washer n dryer, as well as not having to invest in many kitchen appliances OR even having to bring my trash out farther than my door. The showers are HUGE and even tho I am very short, my tall friends love using it. The location is pretty great, very close to just about anything I need. My expectations were more than met.

Literally 8 out of every 10 packages is stolen from the “secured” lobby. There is no way to decide what gets placed in package concierge and if it’s not in there, it’s gone. The office will just shrug and say “sorry, not on us.”

We do our best to communicate to all our delivery carriers to not leave packages unattended in the lobbies but to either deliver them to the apartment home or leave in the office if they do not fit in the Package lockers. The Goat Blocks buildings and leasing team are all great. The Goat Blocks community is vibrant and positive. I love the locationyou can walk a few blocks north and be on Burnside, or a few blocks south and be on Hawthorne, or walk several block west and be on the waterfront. It's right in the center of all the things in inner SE. The buildings are clean and well-designed, and the apartment layouts are open and spacious. And the views of the eastside and downtown cannot be matched.

constant disappointment with the management and maintenance of this community. noise complaints return zero results. roof leaked for two months with no permanent fix. spent a year in quarantine being charged for electricity in amenity rooms that were closed. and theyre more concerned with community events in an ongoing pandemic than they are with quality units and residents. so glad i finally left.

Modern units, super spacious layouts, and friendly living. The layout of the apartments are the best we found in Portland! The prices are very reasonable, and having management on site is great (and they are incredibly friendly). We have everything we need on our block- restaurants, coffee, grocery store.. the location is awesome!

Great people and atmosphere everyday! You truly feel like you're a part of a warm and supportive community. The main thing I've been having trouble with is their online portal to pay rent and update account information. But what they lack in technology, they make up for in amazing leasing agents, other apartment staff, and lovely residents!

It's a vibrant community of friendly people & dog walkers living here at Goatblocks. There's features here that make life better. It's great having an elevator, making the job of getting groceries up to the apartment much easier. Having a/c for those warm days & a nice hot shower on the cold ones.
