Northeast of Orlando, Fl., residents raise families in a recreation-filled environment featuring a number of inland lakes, easy access to city's resorts and theme parks, and a laid-back lifestyle with a short commute to area employers.
With several well-manicured golf courses, the northeast Orlando area creates a golfer's haven for retirees, vacationers or parents seeking a little relaxation on the weekend. There are dozens of medium- and small-sized lakes in the area, providing great spots for fishing, sports and waterfront living. Lake Jesup offers camping, fishing and boating activities, while smaller Lake Howell features living options within steps of the water.
Because local residents range from families to retirees, there are also a wide variety of housing options. Condos, townhouses and patio homes are in abundance, as are single-family homes with decent-sized yards.

Property Ratings at Goldelm at Charter Pointe
Stayed here for a full lease term and the experience was absolutely pisspoor. The place was falling apart, from the fire alarm falling out of the ceiling, paint in the bathtub was coming up, leak in the roof. I’ve called maintenance every month and they only fix things when it’s convenient for them. When I confronted the staff about the these issues, I was told that I have to keep “consistently call maintenance”. And whenever maintenance does come by they never leave a note or anything to indicate that they were there. The dumpster breaks down every week,so 3-4 days out the week the walkway to the dumpster will be full with trash. Roaches and rats within the units, told the leasing office several times about the roaches and rats for them to do absolutely nothing about the problem. So if you want to save yourself the headache DO NOT RENT HERE!!!

This property is falling apart. The management dont care about the residents or staff . The units have mold and roaches . People breaking in cars and cutting through the patios screen . Not a safe place and not worth the price .

Run down units and a complex where they care more about spending money on signs, landscape and the pool. Meanwhile the buildings are raggedy, the laundry facilities is always broke, trees fall to the ground like rain. Maintenance is always riding around on a golf cart but nothing is being fixed. The office property manager has admitted more than once that they don't even respond to her request when she messages them with emergencies. The cabinets, bathtub, and everything including the kitchen sink needs to be replaced. Charter Pointe is the one place that gets 75 years out of there appliances.

Although we greatly appreciate your feedback, we believe this review to be completely inaccurate. We are continuously conducting quarterly tree work, removing dead limbs and pruning. We have had 2 hurricanes in the past 2 months. No one here has ever said maintenance does not respond to requests from the office. We handle priority services first and replace appliances regularly during our turns and as needed in occupied units. We have renewed our signs recently and repaired a leak in our pool. We would like you to contact us if you are dissatisfied with your unit or our service.
The staff here really takes care of you and make you feel welcome instantly. It’s in perfect location to travel anywhere!
MY FRIEND & MYSELF WERE EXCITED ABOUT MOVING HERE BC OF THE LOFT & WE COULD HAVE SEPARATE PLACES BUT BE CLOSE TO EACH OTHER BUT NOW THAT IVE READ THE REVIEWS IVE DECIDED WE SHOULD GO ELSE WHERE! THATS SAD BC ITS RIGHT HERE NEXT TO EVERYTHING. HOPE IT GETS BETTER.
Roach infested. Do not stay here. Way TOO over priced. Office staff is well aware of this and they refuse to do anything. They tried to evict us twice.
Unfortunately the only positive thing I can say about this complex is the location. This is a very old complex and the condition of the apartments reflects this. Old antiquated appliances from 1980's, kitchen cabinets in very poor condition. Bathrooms are very old ... floors need to be redone. Serious mold problem here and bug problem. I venture to say it is roach infested. I have never ever seen so many roaches in my life. They charge you monthly for pest control which cant even put a dent in the problem. I dont like living with pests....ugh...Rent is way to high for such an old complex and they raise your rent 50 to 100 dollars a year with no justification. No improvements are done to the interior of the apartments which would make this place more desirable if that is possible. Property is not maintained and they never spray for bugs which is why this place is running alive with roaches. Garbage never picked up off the ground and some people actually have old furniture outside their decks which really makes this place look like a dump. No sprinkler systems for the grass and old gigantic oak trees all over the place which are rotting. No pretty trees or plants. Only around the office...lol.. They actually have rat traps around all the ground floor apartments which is a huge turn off....! Decks are old with wooden planks that are rotting and dangerous. The decks are screened in but you cannot open your deck doors at night or you would have large huge roaches in your apartment. Garbage constantly piled up by the compactor which is unsightly and begins to smell. They force you to pay 25.00 a month for VALET TRASH and charge you 5.00 a month for pest control. They have a flat rate added to your rent for water which is much higher than you actually use. Its an estimate that is way off. If you use 30 worth of water you get billed for 47...! Its very obvious that the owners do not care about the condition of this place and just want to make money....plain and simple. Think long and

There is no option for no or negative stars. I have lived here for 3 months had the ac break and it took maintenance 2 days till they came and looked at it. The water has been shut off 3 times in 3 months due to "emergences in your building" with no notification because "it is too hard to notify the whole building" the building is infested with roaches. The office staff is terrible and unprofessional..i am saving money to break the lease ASAP...do yourself a favor and pick another location you will save yourself a lot of headache
Hello! I am a current resident at Charter Pointe Apartments. I have been here for 10 months now and it's honestly the best apartment complex I've ever lived in. I've lived in two others (both nice - one near Millenia Mall and one by Waterford Lakes). My husband, baby and I are staying in a loft apartment that overlooks the main pool. Why I love the place: 1) The loft layout is so cool. It's a smaller square footage but seems large because of the vaulted ceilings leading up to the second floor which has worked great as a small bedroom space. 2) The neighbors are friendly. 3) More connection to nature than most apartments. There's a naturey courtyard in the center of most apartment buildings and the landscaping is great. There's also a great pond with a family of ducks near the back of the complex with a picnic bench. 4) Maintenance is fast and management is friendly. 5) Location, location, location. It's less than five minutes from the altamonte mall and theater, 5 minutes from I-4, close to Casselberry, Maitland and Winter Park and Orlando is super close when you take the interstate during non-traffic hours. 6) It's the most affordable place I could find anywhere for the quality. They have great prices on the lofts! 7) Recent management change and re-modeling look fantastic. The expected cons that explain the lower cost: 1) The train. Our building is right across from the train tracks. I knew when I visited the place that this was going to be something we had to deal with. 2) Older appliances. This was to be expected with the price. 3) Very little storage inside the loft. Also knew this when looking at the layout. 4) No washer/dryer connection in loft. Knew this as well. What was great about our place was we were right next to the stairs and the nicer main laundry room. In summary, This place is a great value. It's relatively quiet, has nature throughout, is in a good location and has a great maintenance and management team. 5 stars for a great renting experience! The only reason we're leaving is because of the baby. We need a bigger space and to be closer to work. I wanted to leave a review for these apartments because reviews tend to be so negatively skewed. In reality, this place is pretty great. I hope this helps!
So many roaches! Even after pest control and setting up bug traps everywhere. Omg the huge ones too. It's scary and gross. Being downstairs sucks. Dogs get fleas very easily from the grass in these apartments and it's hard to get them gone.. minor spiders everywhere but not too much. You can hear literally everything thru the walls especially being downstairs. For the studios the price is not worth paying for just this. The neighborhood is decent, not too much in the area at walking distance so it sucks, and the office and maintenance are really nice but I would not recommend.
Walked in to find out about moving in and the woman in the office barked at us "I have things to do what do you want" when we asked politely about information of their one bedroom apartments she said I have nothing for you and turned around and ignored us so we left and will never go back.
Disgusting apartments with mold and roaches high electric bill no insulation. The management is fully aware of problems and does nothing .
I lived here for 1 year, I just moved out two months ago the apartments are old and outdated and the walls are very thin. I think the worst thing though is how Julia treats her staff. She is mean and rude to them borderline evil. They way she talks to them in front of people unbelievable. Name calling threatening their jobs very sad.

We are sorry to hear that you had a negative experience with Charter Pointe as we strive for customer satisfaction. If you would like to speak with a representative from our corporate office, we would be happy to hear your concerns.
Front office staff is lovely. Maintenance is lovely. Quiet neighborhood washer dryer hookup no washer and dryer included. I gave it the number of stars because although the your rent May Say $760 they gone add $20 for valet trash that isn't optional. So that brings it to $780 plus your water which you pay separately. So you'll be paying will over $800. I had a problem with spiders. Appliances can be updated. Other than that it's okay.

Please let the office team know if there is any maintenance or pest control that needs to be performed in your apartment. Our pest control company is on site every Tuesday and will only enter upon your request.
I like that my complex has contest for residents and listens to the residents needs. However, I wish corporate would give a 5 day grace period to pay your rent before the late fee is charged. It would be convenient since the rent is above market for the square footage of the apartments.
Too expensive for condition of apartment. Needs lots of updates and repairs. Bathrooms are in very poor condition.

I recently moved from New York City to altamonte springs and found the charter pointe apartment complex online. We have a pitbull and they are one of the few places that accept all dog breeds. Moving from one state to another can be very stressful, but our transition was a smooth one thanks to the support of the management staff here. All are very friendly and considerate. They had our best interest at heart and made it a point to accommodate us as best as possible. We never got the chance to see the apartment before moving in but did get a floor plan. Everything they told us about the complex and apartment was accurate. I love how clean the complex is kept and how quiet it is. Residents are respectful and keep to themselves. It is a great area to raise a child with amenities such as two pools in the complex and Eastmonte park right behind it with playgrounds, baseball fields, and basketball courts. There are also two laundry facilities (convinient if you choose not to have washer/dryer in your apartment), a fitness center and business center. Our 2br/2ba apartment is a great size with a balcony. It is carpeted and spacious for my family of 3. The only thing that I would change are the kitchen and bathroom cabinets/counter tops/appliances, which not updated ones but we're kept in very good condition.
If you ever want to be close to everything and do not want to drive, look no further. The apartment is near bus route, sun rail and the I 4. The price is a little high, but, you get what you pay for. You are within a few miles of shopping and hospitals. Great if you do not to spend a lot on gas.
This is the PERFECT apartment for pets, once you pay the deposits. Most, if not all, owners own 1-2 pets, whether dogs or cats. Plus, the entire complex is covered by oak trees, so it is constant shade. Our car rarely got hot as a result! They have a large pool, bathrooms right next to it, and a card-operated laundry (card machine is in the office). They have a basic gym with a TV. The 24 hour maintenance is great, if needed, as they live on property. You're only a 15-minute walk to the Altamonte Springs SunRail station, so on days it runs, the bus stop for the 436 Lynx is also at the stop. EVERYTHING is within a mile, like Lowes, restaurants, Public Storage, Florida Hospital, Walgreens, Altamonte Springs Library, Eastmonte Park, as well as the Police/Fire Departments. The Altamonte Mall and Publix are around 2 miles away, and the Casselberry SuperWalMart is 3.5 miles away. There's really only one downside: satellite. Due to the fact the complex has so many trees, no satellite signal gets to the apartments. Your only choice is BrightHouse. Home phone and DSL internet is through CenturyLink, but many apartments need improved wiring in order to use DSL (if you get BrightHouse Cable Internet you should be OK).
