Property Ratings at Goldelm at the Metropolitan
Truly impressed with this complex. Property is well maintained and the office staff is super kind and helpful. Maintenance is also always on top of any issues that have came up.
Everyone has been so great! Maintenance is very quick to come out. I had my ac go out one night and they came right away.
We highly recommend living here. After reading reviews, I wanted to acknowledge how attentive the staff is and how efficient the maintenance team is. Yes, there are bugs outside but it’s East TN. The southeast has bugs.
Great people, pool was fantastic and kid friendly. A really nice community to live in and experience life in West Knoxville.
It’s a beautiful community with lots of amenities and a very convenient location. The management team was a breath of fresh air compared to other properties I’ve toured. I highly recommend to all!
Friendly and efficient staff. Always willing to help
We love it here . We are so close to fabulous schools and restaurants with a huge mall in close proximity.
8 Month Resident’s Experience It’s hard to pin down a singular cause of why the metro is such a horrendous apartment complex. Roaches (EVERYWHERE!), broken amenities, barely functioning AC, trash left or dumped all over the complex grounds, no enforcement of apartment policies (the root of many problems), animal excrement… take your pick. I am not one to complain without offering solutions, so my advice to anyone thinking of leasing an apartment here is to burn your application and move on to another complex. You will thank me. The only redeeming factor is the maintenance team who have always been polite, timely, and friendly. Beyond that this place needs to be avoided at all cost to anyone who values their health, family, or sanity.
So far we have had a great experience. There were some minor inconviences on move in day with things not working, but maintenace was quick to help!
Nice apartments, maintenance always kept up on. Highly recommended
I have worked with Libby D. since our interest in the apartment. Libby showed great diligence and was always available for any questions - we had a ton! Also, we had a small maintenance issue and it was resolved within 24 hours of placing the order. Everything so far is great!
Great first apartment for my partner and me! Amazing amenities and pet friendly!
It's a tad on the pricey side with big increases year over year. The Apartment I am in is great and private. Maintenance team is out of the world fast and very pleasant to work with. I'm older so the only by electronic means of notifications isn't my cup of tea but I get it in today's world.
Good location and solid amenities I would recommend living here.
Apartments are in a great location and they have good amenities. Maintenance responds within a day or two to fix any issues. Only thing that is a shame is their indoor hot tub still not being fixed for months. We are in their smallest 1 bedroom option and it is quite small but came with good appliances/combo washer and dryer. Overall, a good place to live, but pricier and smaller. Worth it for the amenities and maintenance so far.
It’s a great place to live! Haven’t had a problem with my apartment, staff is great, and quiet place to live overall!
We have been at this complex for around four years now and have loved being residents. The maintenance team is usually quick to respond and it’s conveniently located. We love the indoor and outdoor pools and each of our neighbors.
I think that for what you are getting, it's a great price! I absolutely love the kitchen; however, I would like a garbage disposal in my sink. My only real complaint is that after signing everything and getting the keys, my roommate and I discovered the layout to being entirely different than what we thought we were signing for on the website. They provided a picture, but it was not at all accurate. Other than that, we've really enjoyed it. The inside pool is a huge plus too.
Despite paying on-time if not early for over 2.5 years, we received an email saying we were due for a renewal, but then when I inquired about our renewal the property manager told us we were actually not being renewed. They also double charged us for insurance despite them having the sufficient documentation and written terms in our lease showing that we had our own liability insurance. Getting this fixed was not a pleasant experience. Our apartment was treated for mold about 4 months ago, and the mold is already coming back as well. Car break ins and late-night solicitors are a common occurrence on the property Parking is a nightmare The maintenance team on the other hand are quite responsive and easy to get ahold of. They also have a nice gym and pool. +1 star for that.
The apartment had a roach problem the day we moved in. We were not allowed to see the actual apartment we moved into beforehand. Had we known this would be an issue, we would never have moved here. Requests were made to have it sprayed, but no one has, and the bugs are still here! We are not accustomed to living with vermin. We would not recommend this place to anyone looking for an apartment, and we will be moving out as soon as possible unless the maintenance improves.
Super unsafe.. cars being broken into and I watched someone try to enter my apt. Horrible management, Karen is unhelpful and the property manager is extremely rude. When I moved in there were several issues with my apt (like it was never inspected) and I had to clean it when I arrived. Also the biggest selling points here (amenities) are usually not working or closed. Don’t forget the roaches! Very disappointed with my experience.
I came home one evening to a not so cool A/C unit, and even though it was well after regular business hours, the maintenance request I submitted was immediately placed in a service queue. I was taken care of almost first thing the following morning. The person who fixed my A/C was very friendly and didn't mind my dog nudging them for attention at all! It took less than an hour to get the unit to start cooling, and the whole process was super easy. I'm still pretty new to the community, and this experience definitely made me more confident in choosing to live here.

Every other complex has amenities back operational. 1 year and a month later, still doesnt when the outside pool will be open. The indoor hot tub was closed for a year due to maintenance. When it reopened its only during office hours??? Yet, despite not having access to amenities for a year, we were still charged for them. Half the washers and dryers on site dont work. The complex is relying on its residents to police for residents not picking up after their dogs. It took a year to get a hole in my tub repaired. Despite being told it would be done the next day prior to signing my lease. I knew the people coming to fix it were an outside hired company. Their patch is already coming up. When they left, I was left cleaning up razors left on the floor that my dogs could have gotten, sand paper, plastic sheets covering appliances and white powder all over my walls and floors from their sanding. Dog park is in awful condition and isnt large enough for large breeds to be able to fully run.

You will see at least one roach every day, about 2 inches long. My ceiling in the bathroom leaks brown water and management keeps painting it white. There are romex wires attached to the bottom of the countertop in the bathroom to power the washing machine.

I was upset originally upon moving in due to the cleanliness of the apartment, mainly the carpet. The leasing office did show sympathy and immediately made efforts to improve this. Despite the issues upon moving in, it was very pleasing to have the management react quickly and offer replacement following efforts to shampoo and clean it.

When I moved in the entire place floor was covered in dirt, it smelled like weed and cigarettes and when I turned on the A/C it smelled like mold. The price I was supposed to pay at move in was increased by a few hundred dollars when I arrived to sign the lease. It took two weeks to fix something as simple as a pull chain and other things like the ice maker. The Washing/Drying combo single machine does not work and your clothes will stay wet. The machine was clogged with cat hair when I moved in and then broke after one use. The outlet outside on the patio was live and had no cover making it a fire hazard. I have had to pester the maintenance staff to have anything done and even then it takes weeks to fix anything. I emailed the property manager to try to get some leniency on the late fee because of all these issues as my paycheck came in a few days after rent was due and they were not helpful. Overall horrible place to live, keep looking.

Ac never works very well and they are about 30 years old and will not update or buy new ones.
I have had nothing but problems since I moved in in January. When I moved in, literally on day one I had a crack in my bathtub two inches long. It leaked horribly and they didnt fix it for two weeks. I had to shower with duct tape on my shower for the first two weeks I lived here. My apartment had not been cleaned when I moved in. There was dog hair everywhere from the previous owner, the carpet was disgusting and I found a belly button ring in it. My laundry room smelled musty and moldy when I moved in. And now I know why because I have had two leaks in there now. Water comes down from the ceiling and the light figure falls down and is filled with water. And now mold is growing on the ceiling and they havent came to take care of it. My floor is peeling up by the door because my gutter is clogged and a waterfall of water comes down from it every time it rains and water comes in my apartment. I have reported all of these things and they are either ignored or not properly fixed. The list goes on. And I have the pictures to prove it.
I love living here! Amazing apartments, beautiful grounds, very pet friendly. The only issue I have is getting service orders completed.
My husband and I are really enjoying living here. We moved here from Memphis and were able to find places we use frequently extremely close by and easily accessible. The staff here is doing a great job!
Good place to live and neighbors are super friendly
I e community to live in. Clean and pet friendly. Office staff friendly and reachable. Indoor pool wonderful and would recommend.
This is my fourth year living here. I have always enjoyed the amenities and even the fact that this place is close to most of the services you may need. I am married with two children: 6yrs and 9 months. The Elementary school and Kindercare (open 6:30 am to 6pm) are just across the road that serves us very well. Im also a student both at PSTCC and UTK ~ they are just 6miles and 10miles to Pellissippi State Community College and UTK respectively. The complex is also within a mile radius from a variety of major grocery stores, major restaurants and even Parkwest Hospital. All these allow me to achieve most of the things within the shortest time possible as I am always in a hurry to go to work, pick kids from school and also go to college. This place already holds both college students, adults, families and elderly as I see from our population. We are consistently building a community full of love speared by the property manager. Do not be bothered with things you may have read on the net! Part of 2017/2018 we had little management issues; But they were sorted out after we had management changes and Jessica the property manager ~ and her team came-in. They all show and handle residents with respect, love and compassion. Maintenance requests are always addressed within meaningful timeframe; some even within an hour. At the lobby, David is always my most favorite. He is always ahead of the game with his communication skills and great Customer Service. Lastly! Those who cant resist that urge of taking the first bite on a hot - hot dog! You want to update your email on when this is served.
So far I am pleased to be a resident here. Maintenance is always quick to respond and the front office is also great to deal with.
Excellent service, the air conditioning was damaged yesterday, I reported it yesterday afternoon and today before noon it was fixed, super excellent. Thanks 10 stars
Everything about my move went smoothly. The staff was incredibly helpful and super available. The apartment was clean, nice, and comfortable. The location speaks for itself, with lots to do in all directions.
My building is infested with roaches. I had to clean the apartment myself, spending and using just under $70 upon move-in to feel comfortable living there. The apartment smells badly even after deep cleaning and air freshening with many different products. Under the dishwasher smells like mold or mildew. The laundry room smells of the same odor but the smell is much more potent. I personally had to seal all of the baseboards and door frames so that roaches would stop coming into my apartment as frequently. They still come in through the opening in the wall in the laundry room where the smell comes from because I cannot fit my caulk gun into the area where the opening exists. I use products every single day to try and make my place smell ok. Everyday that I walk back into my apartment I am reminded that I made a mistake moving here. The day that I signed my lease the leasing agent tried to have me pay $634 more than what I was suppose to upon move in. After showing him that the math did not add up I ended up with a $634 credit toward my next rent. The agent actually laughed and said something must have gone wrong when he typed everything into the computer. The lay out of the apartment is great and the counter tops are nice.
I love the apartment and the amenities. I hate how this place is operated and how the office manager treats people here. She is very unprofessional and not understanding regarding any issue that is reported.
Parking is a hassle. I usually have to park many spots away from my apartment. Units are old and have their own unique issues.
Previous management company failed to note damages inside apartment.
2 stars is probably reaching. We have only been here since March 2019 and will be leaving the first week of July 2019. It's worth it to pay the penalty for breaking the lease than to stay here any longer. The front office staff is great! Friendly and helpful, but management is not working well and claims that every place is the same. This was the first place I've lived in that has had so many consistent issues. We have had issues with our apartment smelling like smoke. (It's smoke free and we don't smoke). I don't care if other people smoke, I just don't want to be paying to smell it where I live. The dog poop on the premises has gotten slightly better, but our yard was a mine field when we came and only just recently got better...after numerous complaints and requests for a dog station on our end of the property. (Which they've told us they were getting, but we have yet to see). It took them over a month to respond to a maintenance request and it still hasn't been taken care of. Other maintenance requests have taken around a week or so to get to. Mold in the shower, and they covered it up with caulking instead of taking care of it. Our mailbox has been left open in the back a few times from the mailperson as well as boxes of mail being left near the mailboxes with no mailperson on the premises. We were told our apartment would have a washer/dryer included...it did not so we had to rent one. I'm not complaining about that though, it worked out better and is actually full size. Our a/c broke on a hot hot day at the end of a workday. My fiance called the office and they were going to let maintenance know before they left. Maintenance didn't come until the following day, so apparently an apartment that is as hot as 86 ° is not considered an emergency. I disagree. I'm not difficult to please, but this was the worst place in my 15 years of renting apartments, that I have ever been in. This place is a hot mess and I do not recommend wasting your time, energy or money here.
Me and my boyfriend have been living here sense August last year. The first owners were very bad and didn’t care, the new owners are amazing! Lisa , David, and Jesse are so helpful and always lay my mind to ease. Maintenance is amazing and they are always on top of things and polite. Lisa will always leave you smiling. The neighborhood is so friendly, the pool area is always clean. The correction officers are so friendly and polite. My favorite thing is that the neighborhood comes together as a family. On the weekends at the outdoor pool, everyone will be grilling out and the kids will be playing, it’s like a big family reunion. We have two dogs and we always make friends at the dog park. It’s a great place to start a family or even if your just looking to settle into a quiet place ! Highly recommend!
The pools are nice. The indoor pool and spa are really cool with the rocks and plants, a vending machine is available too.
