Property Ratings at Governor's Green
If you love the smell of weed move here. Woken up everyday at 7 am by a room full of weed that gives me headaches. There is no concern for kids or anyone else. They have a you can smoke whatever you want in your home. Smokers policy in full effect here. No need to have concern for others. The hallways are constantly filled with the smell. I was told to move if I don't like it that's all I can do!

October 2, 2021, my tires and wheels were stolen. This has been an ongoing problem on this property. I was told by management that there is nothing they can do and you park at your own risk. I will be so glad when my lease is up. The property is not worth what you pay monthly. The appliances are old and outdated, the tile on the floor are ripped, and the carpet is old. Do your research. I didn’t and was stuck in a lease for a year.
Horrible apartment complex..DO NOT MOVE!!! Where do i start off, FIRST lets talk about the fact if you moved in anytime in 2020 on your lease you were charged a amenity fee, for a pool and "gym" that has yet to be opened as of august 202. Second, there are no cameras in the entire community and very poor lighting. So there has been numerous vehicle break ins throughout the apartment complex, with nothing being done about. As of august 2021 there has been no cameras installed, no police presence, or security. Thirdly, the current maintenance staff is the most laziest maintenance staff , I have ever came across while living in any apartment complex in maryland. Some examples are, the techs being seen just seating in the vehicles feet out the window during working hours, if called for a emergency the techs do not show up in a timely manner it seems to be when they feel like showing up to your home( if u call a emergency in your lucky to get a response before the end of the day), there is no advance warning when they will be coming for a scheduled work order, the techs are also very rude and do not know how to speak to residents especially the supervisor instead of coming to fix the issue you called in about,it usually turns into a questionnaire of what you did to cause this to happen. another issue is the techs usually try entering your home without mask or boot covers and there are usually multiple techs trying to enter your home all at the same time to address the same ticket, confusing me the tenant cause t it should not take 2 or 3 techs just to screw in a lightbulb. Lastly the communication between the office staff and techs are horrible they do not seem to be on the same page with anything. From scheduling contractor work, to when a tech will be coming over to address the issue in your home. Also management needs to be trained on how to send proper email to tenants, every email sent out seems to have a undertone of being very passive aggressive towards tenants. Hopefully this has given insight on my experience at governors green and if you are thinking about moving here please think twice, it will not be worth the money you will be spending monthly on rent.
It is a quiet community with friendly residents. During this pandemic, the staff were very accommodating with residents. Very friendly staffs.

It's a nice community. My neighbors that I've met are very nice, hardworking people. But if you have a nice car your taking the risk of your car tires being stolen off your car in the middle of the night. It happened to my neighbor who had just purchased his new car. It also happened to another one of my neighbors as well and they had just moved in a month early. They need to have security during the hours of midnight and 5am. If people can pay an extra $30 for trash, they'd pay a little extra for security.

We appreciate you sharing your experience. We hope to have you as a member of our community for many years to come!
We've lived here 15 months so far. All was going great until there started to be break-ins on cars. Two of my neighbors have had their tires stolen off their cars in the middle of the night. I think there needs to be more lighting in this development as there are a lot of dark spots. Also, this community needs security cameras for the amount of rent being charged.

I moved here about a year ago, and it wasn't bad, but within that time the rent prices have increased to the fact that when my lease is over I have to move out. More people have moved into the complex, so the parking situation is terrible. You either have to pay $50/month to reserve a parking space or make sure you're home before 6. The trash compactor has been broken for almost 2 weeks, so there's a huge dumpster taking up 5 parking spaces, not to mention the trash is scattered everywhere. You have to pay a non-negotiable $30/mo for trash pickup, I'd rather save my money and walk my trash to the dumpster. The new apartments look okay, but definitely not worth the extra $300-400/mo ontop of the rent price. The pros: my neighbors are quiet, the only con with them is everyone seems to slam there door whenever they are coming and going. Bowie is a great area, it's just very expensive.
We lived here for two years while the complex was under Equity Residential's control. In that time it was a nice place to stay and they treated us well. Then about three months ago Bainbridge took over, and the quality has dropped significantly. The trash compactors were overflowing for weeks, maintenance takes way to long to address any issues, and the employees don't seem to care or want to preserve their business. To add to that, Bainbridge's "policies" are predatory and do not consider their paying customers' concerns, just their bottom line. If you have any other options, avoid this place.
I have had the worst renting experience in the last 18 months. Beginning with trash in my apartment the day I was expected to move in. Followed by a four to five month infestation of roaches, bathroom floods from upstairs, and now blackouts. The lights in my bathroom and bedroom do not work for over 10 days and I have had to use a FLASHFLIGHt. maintenance is not readily available and are incompetent at best! The emergency number for after hour needs does not work! No voicemail picks up; call simply disconnects after several rings. I can't wait until my lease ends.
Governors Green Apartments in Bowie Md is Home. It is the most beautiful well maintained apartment complex anyone could hope for. With everything you need right at your fingertips. These apartments are where you lay your hat, settle down and say "finally, I'm home" it doesn't get any better than this.
This was a wonderful and easy move in transition and the staff has been nothing but helpful to ensure everything was taken care of. Recommend this property to anyone!!
I love the apartment building I live in, the neighbors are all very friendly and no one is ignorant about being too loud. The community is kept up very nicely by Governors Green and they are responsive when you put in a maintenance order. The only thing I would say I get pretty annoyed with is the office, they are unhelpful with just about everything, unless it is grabbing a package. Even when you go to the office during office hours, more often then not their is no one in there and it is locked because they are showing apartments. I think one person should be required to be in the office so that they can help the residents that currently live there. Other than that, you are close to Bowie Towne Centre and right near MANY restaurants and major highways so it is a great and convenient location. Apartments are up to date with the interior and exterior appearance. The pool is great and not many people are there most of the time so there are plenty of chairs.
I live in Govenrors Green Apartments located in "gorgeous Prince George's" County, Bowie Maryland. The reasonably priced, perfectly located apartment complex puts the resident with minutes drive to the state's Capitol of Annapolis.. And only a short convient drive to the Nation's capital of Washington D.C. and just down the way from beautiful Baltimore City inner harbour which features the stunning inner harbour and sports teams of the Ravens and Orioles. Governor Green Apartments include washers and dryers and a pool as well as fitness center and enclosed dog park run. Crime is low and residents are happy and cordial. The leading office staff is great and the maintenance team is the most friendly I have ever seen... If you are looking to move to the Washjngton D.C. Metro area and want to be Ilocanos in the middle of it all Governors Bridge should be your Top choice!
In July of 2014, I chose to begin my first search for my own little place to call home. I visited several apartment communities, however the day I walked into the rental office at Governor's Green I truly felt like I was home. I received a personable experience as I worked with a member of the office team and expressed everything I was looking for in an apartment community. As I was shown the community, I immediately recognized the friendliness of all of the employees as well as the members of the maintenance team. The complex was clean and quiet. There were several police cars throughout the community and I immediately felt safe. The one bedroom apartment was phenomenal with a vaulted ceiling and a balcony which overlooks a courtyard. I was amazed that the apartment looked brand new, however the complex was built years ago. The apartment included a washer as well as a dryer. The bedroom was a very nice size and the walkin closet has plenty of space. The apartment truly exceeded my expectations and after moving in I was extremely impressed with the quick response of maintenance. I enjoyed my apartment so much that I am excited to call it my lovely paradise as I extended my lease for an additional year.
GREAT Apartments, WONDERFUL Location. Ive been here for 2 years Ive had nothing but a great experience here.
