Property Ratings at Governours Square
While older, governours square is a generally well cared for and comfy complex with lovely landscaping and an excellent location - especially for middle income households and anyone with nerdy hobbeys.
I don't think I would recommend this complex to older friends or acquaintances. I am only being honest.
Signing the lease and moving in was a breeze. So far we are loving the community and have nothing but positive things to say about GS. Hoping to stay here for awhile!

My time at Governours Square was great! It was in the perfect location for my first apartment in Columbus. It was basically 20 minutes to everything, which made my commute very easy! I enjoyed the amenities during my year and a half, the pools being a highlight! The community was clean, quiet, and safe.

Perfect floor plans, little smaller bedrooms for some appartements, but it's good. I'm satisfied by everything except the laundry which is fair because few washers are working and has a bad smell.

My fiancé and I had little to no hope of being able to live here, but with the help of Sarah, she found us an affordable apartment that met all the requirements we were looking for! This is the worst apartment I've ever lived in. My patio floods every single time it rains and it becomes unusable for at least a week. There's a man who lives near me that follows me around and has come up and harassed me multiple times. All kinds of the worst bugs get in constantly (probably because of the flooding), Everything breaks like both of the locks on my door and the heat which was out for days at a time. People's cars get broken into everyday so much so that everyone has a steering wheel lock on their car. And the worst thing is that my dog was attacked right on my patio and was almost killed by another dog. There have been MANY dogs here off leash and running around the parking lot and when you reach out to the front office they tell you that's not their problem. This place is very unsafe for you and your dog, it's bug infested, really noisy, and if you have a patio you'll be lucky if you can use it 1 day out of the month. I've actually considered breaking my lease just to get out of this place early. This place is not worth the price and you would be better off moving anywhere else.

Governours Square provides a relatively safe, affordable living environment with great amenities in a nice location. While some of the apartment finishes could be nicer, we have enjoyed being a part of this community.

The community is charming and beautiful when you look at it from the outside. The one bedroom apartment that I live in is spacious. Also, It is nice that there is a resident lounge attached to the office. The sliding doors in the living room area let a lot of sunshine into my apartment. It is usually quiet at Govournor's Square.

If I met someone who was considering moving here, I would grab their face like that scene in the movie Billy Madison and beg them to look elsewhere. If they were insistent on still moving here, I would strongly encourage them to avoid a ground floor unit at all costs. I would also encourage them to get in house laundry, because of how dirty and unreliable the laundry units here are.

Nice neighborhood, good location, and unit's seem to be in decent condition. Be aware of inconsistent maintenance services. And be mindful of the worst thing for my mental health in 2 years, the laundromats which will waste more of your time and money than you could possibly prepare for.

Governours Square is in a great, convenient location. The grounds are also very clean and has mature landscaping that is beautiful in the spring and fall. I love all of the new/existing amenities.

I lived here for a couple years now and have had a really good experience. New gym and clubhouse and 3 pools are really great amenities and kept up very well. Community feels safe overall and the office sometimes has cute little community events! The office staff are really nice and responsive and maintenance issues are resolved with a couple days. Walls are a bit thin and no in unit w/d, which are the only cons I can really find here. Overall a good place to live!

Gouvernours square is a residence recommended especially for families, because it is secure, calm, and beautiful. This residence also provides a really easy and simple rental procedure, and provides services at the right time, however it just lacks the laundries to be developed and the parking spaces to be numbered for each resident.

This place is absolutely garbage. The dishwashers don't work. The laundry machines don't work.they promised a gym it doesn't exist and our lease is about up. The pool may as well be open to the public, it has no lock and the public use it. The noise from neighbors is atrocious we barely sleep.they have you pay for "resort style living" but reality is you will hand wash everything and take your clothes to a laundry facility other than what's provided.

Please know that our fitness room has been under renovation since January; however, we have built a new fitness center that is much larger and equipped with an array of new equipment. Most of our dishwashers work properly and are not outdated, however, we are currently renovating twenty to thirty units a month, and most are receiving new appliances. Additionally, the laundry room facilities were upgraded in April of 2022 which consisted of new Maytag washers and dryers, and our swimming pools are monitored every day so that we can minimize nonresident usage. The experience is not good, loud upstairs neighbors, washers and dryers hardly ever work. Apartment amenities are lacking.

I love living here !! The main pool by the leasing office is super nice, as well as the leasing staff being super helpful and great !! I highly recommend choosing this community. Lots of cute doggies too!

Do not live here. I have had my car broken into twice and was bitten by a dog on their premises trying to take my trash out. To make matters worse they increase rent by hundreds but have made no efforts to improve safety. They will however interrupt you with unnecessary "upgrades" so that they are constantly bothering you but the work will be done so poorly nothing will work after they're done. It is honestly extremely overpriced and unsafe.

This is a generally good place to live. We like to remain autonomous. As a result, we tend to mind our own business.
Management is very nice and responsive, apartments are pretty good for a decent price and is in a very convenient area.

Governours Square is an okay community. The exterior definitely looks better than the interiors. The "upgrades" are poorly done and reflect that no time or thought was given into making the units look more modern. The property itself is in need of upgrades, for example, every fence is in desperate need of replacement. If Governours Square hopes to compete with the newer communities that currently exist and/or are being built, they need to invest some money into getting this community in shape.
Good apartments for pricing and VERY friendly office staff. Some bumps along the road but it's been nice.
Beautiful area, conveniently located. It's not a terrible to drive to anything, from groceries to entertainment. Lived here a while now and I've not see any issue with crime. It's safe to let packages sit on a porch, and you could leave your keys in your door (not recommended, but has happened a few times) and no one will would touch them!
Location is great, and so is the price paid for where we live. The apartments are very old and could use a truly modern uplift. Laundry facilities are unreliable, and we are waiting on the gym to reopen.
It is a good location. Very close to grocery stores and restaurants as well as Ohio State University and downtown. Pets are allowed which is great. The only complaint I have is how old some of the apartments and the appliances in them are.
There were many issues I have with my first unit due to plumbing (not any fault of staff, just old piping). I tried to ride it out because I really didn’t want to move again. But when it was made known after some work/maintenance, that the problem will take a lot more to fix than originally thought, I decided to take the offer of moving units. They got me into a new unit within an hour and I was able to start moving stuff in immediately. The staff has been great to work with. Also, any request done by maintenance have been timely. Really impressed with them.
It's ok. The prices keep going up, but the condition of the property doesn't reflect the rental rate increases
Hi I am Gopichand and I am residing at Governours Square apartment's for past year. I feel very relaxed and safe living in my apartment. The floor plans are excellent and well spacious. The location has good community and excellent lawns. The maintenance team do great job all the time. Office staff are always quick responders and very helpful whenever you needed.
The apartment did not appear to be move in ready, there was old food in the cupboards, broken door in the second bedroom, I had about 4 mice in my apartment. The mice could also be heard running through the walls of the apartment. I had been getting sick constantly since moving in, asked the complex to change the air filter. The air filter was pitch black. Throughou inspection of the apartments prior to new residents move in would be awesome.
Not worth the rent, ok area, nothing that stands out that would make me choose this place in the future. Location for me personally was good.
For me have been an amazing experience living here. Everything is so quiet and safe during the day and night. The maintenance team works great and they always come on time. They are keeping improving the apartment features,. All in the apartment works perfect and the community is always clean and beautiful. we can walk around safely any time. The location is really convenient, close to stores and main streets.
A complex within a great area right by Bethel and 315 that finds itself within a good niche of apartment homes that feel accommodating with a cohesive community feel that doesnt negatively distance itself from the surrounding area.
I love the grassy areas for my pet. I also enjoy the layout of my apartment.
Governours square is a great apartment complex to rent from, the office staff is very understanding and quick to resolve any issues. maintenance is also a wonderful part of living here they get this done in a timely manner and they do it well!
At first, it seemed like a nice apartment and nice staff BUT after living there for a year, I realized the place was absolutely DISGUSTING. Just cheap and poorly put together. They have a huge spider/bug problem! When we came to the rent office with pictures, the landlords told me “they don’t control environmental problems.” Never sprayed or done anything. Washer and dryers were trash. Had to dry my clothes 8-9 times and that was a “new washer and dryer” they said. The front door would leak in huge amounts of water that soaked our carpet just about everytime it rained. Rooms are super small and appliances are super outdated. We had many many many service requests that were half done. Don’t let the outside appearance fool you, the inside is definitely a scam. Overall, save your money and time. This place is a dump!! You can live somewhere wayyy nicer for that price!
I have lived here for 6 months and I love everything about it! The front office is nice and helpful, the grounds are well kept and the maintenance is fast! The apartment is very well priced compared to the surrounding areas!
