Property Ratings at Grammercy
They are people who don't care about things, they promise you something in 7-10 days. A month goes by and they don't solve someone's problem, I am dissatisfied with their little help

After living here for a couple of years, we had no problems till now. We had our car registered with Grammercy since we moved and they towed us with out proper warning. Or simply giving us a call since they have our tags registered with them. We were told there would be a 3 day grace period but was towed in 24hours. We were even reshown that our names and numbers were registered in the book of car tags in the office. No one answered, we called corporate no answer. The really nice people on the emergency line were just as confused as we were. We were stressed that it had gotten stolen, and this apartment complex won't take blame for thier oversight.

Really really unprofessional staff. They are very friendly when we first come in and then turn worst.

Property is so huge so maintenance can get sometime to your apartment to fix things. Parking is a hassle after 5pm. I lived on first floor and it felt like someone walking above your head, you could hear EVERYTHING that they’re doing from showering, watching tv, opening closets, opening cabinets in the kitchen, you can even hear them flushing toilet and yes it’s that bad. Take my word and don’t even bother to live here unless you live on the top floor then it could’ve been slightly better.
Property Manager at Grammercy, Responded To This Review
Thank you for bringing this matter to our attention. I want to extend my sincerest apologies concerning your issues. We would appreciate the opportunity to discuss this with you further so we can improve. Kindest regards, Management
The outside of this place looked amazing. The demo apartment they showed me looked amazing. I took an upgraded model so I paid a bit more for my 1 bedroom. The actual apartment they gave me was not upgraded at all and not worth the extra costs. In the winter the fireplace of the person below me came into my apartment and made me sick. Even with these issues, I didn't get upset since they have a wonderful area for my dog to play around. I decided to move out a year later and I got charged $200 paint fee, $140 clean fee, and $100 carpet cleaning fee. That plus the 2 plus extra months of utilities you need to pay since they don't charge you immediately when you move in. All this due move out day. $650+ charged when I put up no posters, no holes in walls, no reason for painting. I did a deep clean and even shampooed my carpets. They still charged me for everything. I talked to my friend who also moved out and they charged the same amount. It's like a template they charge everyone no matter how clean place looks. It's pretty messed up.
My first month there was a $26.95 charge for sewer/water/trash/pest with fees of $8.50. On top of that, there was a $18.45 administrative fee that I had asked about, but was not given a helpful response. The apartment I had was very nice, remodeled, but new management was awful. They were re-doing the parking lot once and postponed the date for construction. Then, they gave a notice on Friday of Labor Day weekend (I was already out of town) that cars needed to be moved by Saturday morning and my car was towed while I was away since it was in a parking space that was going to be redone. As long as you don't need to interact with management, the property itself is nice.
Apartment:Generally poor quality all around. The flooring in my bathroom has paint spots from the walls that were never cleaned up. Half the apartment has baseboard trim while the other half does not. The pant on the walls is chipped and looking fairly rough. One of the sides of my bathroom cabinet looks like it hasn't been repainted in a decade. There are also some pretty serious low and high spots in the floor. I get that its an old building and that it has settled over the years, but these should seriously be looked at. Appliances: The appliances are decent, although very basic. I had a problem with my fridge that took 3 different maintenance requests before the office would even acknowledge that there was a problem. I had to send them multiple videos of the problem and even find the part that needed replacing and a video on how to replace it before they would do it. Parking: Parking here is a joke. They implemented some new parking system where your car needs to have a parking sticker - but they haven't done anything with it. I walked through the parking lot and found 1/3 of the cars parked by my building didn't have the sticker. It seems as though the whole parking sticker system was just some kind of PR stunt to try and make people complain about it less. If you get home after 5, you will not find parking next to your building. Sometimes you'll have to walk over 1/4 mile just to get from your car to your building. Even if you do find parking, THE SECURITY TEAM MIGHT HAVE YOUR CAR WRONGFULLY TOWED FOR NO REASON. I found this out the hard way as my car had been towed 2 DAYS prior to me finding out. The office never called to let me know about this, despite my car being in their system. Maintenance: Maintenance takes forever. They are not very pleasant to work with. Overall quality: Poor. Old buildings that had the bare minimum upgrades done to them. Grammercy charges way too much for what you are getting. The front desk staff are very nice, but I have noticed there is a high turnover. Managers have been civil, but do not seem overly keen on helping you. Summary: Don't live here. Even if you have no other options, do not live here. There are better places out there with better everything, in better locations, for about the same price. Even those of us that want to leave here early, can't, because they charge an outrageous lease break fee of over $3,000.00. Go somewhere else and avoid this nightmare.
Grammercy has changed property management in 2019. It is by far the worst place I have ever rented from and the most disorganized. Save your money and the headaches. No one in their office talks to each other about how they have "resolved issues" and this leads to the renter paying the price. You will not get what you pay for with this complex. All show, no follow through. I wish I knew then what I know now because I would have never signed a lease with them with all the similar options in the area. Do yourself a favor and keep looking if this complex has made your list to look into.
Very poor experience. Staff has no idea what they are doing and completely unequipped to answer any questions
Overall experience has been poor in most ways. Management is u expensive and makes promises they dont keep. Take your business elsewhere, where you know what you're getting yourself into
DO NOT RENT HERE. You pay for what you get. Recently they changed managements and still not worth it. they use cheap paint and rugs, everything from paint to the wall comes off easily and you don't even have to touch it. Recently l, they ran my finances SSN without his permission. How do I know? transunion and true identity gave me a warning. I'm not sure how they got it, maybe the car he gave me before he left overseas since he's in the military. I'm a practicing attorney and this place violated so many housing laws. Please look at the apartments and DO NOT STICK TO THEIR WORDS. My lease ends in March, thank the lord. I'm only out in WA for school, but WA has failed me.
I currently live in Grammercy Apartments in Washington State. These apartments are horrible. They didn’t paint or clean it before I moved in. They assured me they would, but after multiple maintenance requests I gave up and asked the office that I not be penalized when I move out. Why did I pay a pet and security deposit? Will they actually clean when I move out? A few months ago I placed a work order because smoke fills my apartment when my neighbor uses their fireplace. My apartment, clothes and furniture all smell like a campfire. I have been told it has been taken care of, but it happened again this past Tuesday. At this point I have had it and sent an email asking about breaking my lease. No reply. I send another email. No reply. Finally today I left work early so I could get to the office before it closes. When I came into the office I asked if she had received my emails. She found them no problem and I could see they had been opened. She asked me to fill out a form and then she tells me it’ll be over 3k to break my lease. I was so upset, she said we could talk to her manager and gestured towards another office. I said yes, and she said “oh, my manager is out until Monday I’ll have her call you.” What??? You don’t answer service requests or respond to emails; what makes you think I believe you when you tell me your manager will call on Monday? At this point I just left. These people are shady. Stay away.
Do not move here. Do not recommend. Have had multiple bad experiences with management and employees. The trash situation is horrible and the parking is even worse. They do not care about you do not move here.
