North of Grand is a suburban-like neighborhood about three miles west of Downtown Des Moines. Filled with tree-lined streets, manicured lawns, and plenty of sidewalks, North of Grand has a low cost of living and has a variety of affordable, as well as more expensive, housing options available for rent. Along Ingersoll Avenue, residents have access to a variety of shops, grocery stores, and restaurants. North of Grand is also in a great location, so residents have easy access to even more amenities. Property Ratings at Grand Manor Apartments
Cool retro features including hardwood floors if you love the old style buildings. Great neighborhood. Management and maintenance staff very easy to work with. Rent is reasonable given location and size of apartment. No extra charge for heat or parking. They do charge for water and sewer but it's not too bad. Quiet building, everyone pretty much keeps to himself. Most of the tenants have been here a long time.
If you want slum lords who never answer you calls and maintenance requests that never get fixed. This is your place!! Hot in all weather! Watch out for low pressure and always running out of warm water. The bike lock is a joke! Just a rack not even secured to the floor or wall. 1 washing machine seems to be always broken. The parking is hit or miss with availability in the lot or on the road. Let's talk about the always changing added utilities. You have to pay midamerican gas and electric. With rent you will get an ever changing amount for water, sewer and heat! Never fun living here.
