Property Ratings at Grand Oaks Apartments
I loved living here. It was perfect. The management was so good, always willing to help and make sure everything was okay. I loved how responsive and willing to help right away they were. I was sad to have to leave and if I ever move again I will definitely come back.
I have lived here for 5 years and could never get any work done on my apartment - but now WE HAVE NEW LANDLORDS!! Jonay and Don have turned this complex around! You never have to worry about your maintenance requests - Don is on it every time and he know his stuff!! Jonay is approachable, kind, and very knowledgeable about the office side of things, you never have to worry. The property is now being maintained and upgraded. Pets are welcome and loved - they have the cutest doggy themselves! I can't say enough good things about how amazing it is to live here now! Don and Donay are the best thing to happen to this complex - they genuinely care about their residents and it shows!! 5 huge stars!!
it sucks! its stinks and its so tiny and its dirty and so much mold and they dont fix anything thats broken
I regretted signing the lease a week after we moved in. Less than a month into living here, we had extreme mold problems and had to purchase a dehumidifier to solve the issue. The cabinets have not been replaced since the 70s and are in bad shape. When we moved in, the shower curtain rod was practically rusted through and we ended up replacing it. Also, the toilet seat we replaced since it was yellowed and disgusting. We also had issues with our dryer's exhaust pipe. They had to clean it and found a huge blockage and that the pipe was disconnected somewhere inside (this was after we had been suffering with our dryer not working properly for weeks because of the pipe). Also, there was a disgusting infestation of stink bugs. Upon moving out, we cleaned very thoroughly. It was left cleaner than when we moved in. Still, they charged us $125 for "cleaning" and another $75 for carpet cleaning. It is ridiculous! And, the managers spoke to us condescendingly on several occasions, as if we were stupid compared to them. The ONLY positive of these apartments is that they were fairly quiet.
We have lived her for 3 years and we really enjoy living here. The complex is pretty quiet. Anytime we have had a problem, our apartment management has helped us out. Our fridge had gone out and within that day we had a new one!! They even told us ahead of time that we have a hot water tank that they will be replacing to prevent a future problem. It has been a great step to save money for our wedding and to purchase a house in the next year or so.
We love the neighborhood and how quiet it is. The grounds are kept up well and its a family friendly complex. It is pet friendly and clean. We've had only one maitenance problem (we were missing a screen for the window) and the management was friendly as always and got it custom fit right away. Its also in a good school district and only 2 blocks from our kids school. The inside is good sized and has washer and dryer hookups. We feel safe and comfortable here and would definitely recommend it.
I unfortunately was rused into this nice looking place, but that was all it was. Pretty looking on the outside. The pictures listed are taken with a fish lens, so everything is smaller than it looks. Within the first week, an odor from under the smaller second rooms carpet was UNBEARABLE. It was clear they had let the floors under rot, and several places have holes with loose boards trying to cover them. I had to buy a 10lb bag of baking soda, and treat that carpet for 6 MONTHS before the smell was decent enough to move into. Mold runs rampant if ANY moisture is in the air. There were weevils in the cupboards, ant everywhere else, and I got fleas before I even decided to have a pet. Moving in, the garbage disposal was clogged, and being the dishwasher emptied into it(???), you have to run the garbage disposal every time the dishwasher drained. Doors didnt fit in doorways, closet doors fell of their tracks(and I have a scar on my foot where one fell and injured me), and when I filed repair requests, I was told "not to be so picky". 10/10 would never live here again.
We have had nothing but nad experiences here... when we moved in we noticed cockroaches and tried to get them to take care of them while we were moving in (away on our honeymoon). We had boxes out still they left a horrible rude bote about house keeping being the cause of the cockroaches and said they didnt find any anyway.... our apartment is now infested since they basically refused to take care of it... any time we have maintainance issues they find some way to blame it on you and make you pay for it... they say a one time fee for pets but they make you pay for every pet (which we discussed not having to when we moved in) the people in the leasing office are very rude! Do rent from here... i have loved every other noris stevens apartment i have lived in and had a perfect record as a tenant and these people litterally make me never want to rent from noris stevens again.
