Property Ratings at Granite Ridge
I looked at about 20 other places in 2004, and GR met all my criteria. I grew up in this area and wanted to stay close to family; as well as, teaching in Winston Salem. I like the fact there are not a ton of actual buildings, the apt has great square footage, and many tell me once they enter mine that it feels like you're inside an actual house. Although much has changed over the last 16 YEARS I've lived here, there are a number of us who have called GR home for over a decade. (that speaks volumes) My building (a 2 br) is quiet, love the private entrance, heating and cooling bills have always been fair, and you are close to everything. (restaurants, bars, shops, doctors, highways (Access to every highway is within 5-10 min!) Although they are older, I feel the quietness, privacy, and larger rooms make up for any of the "newness." I choose to stay here, and have been happy.
I have lived here 4 years and can’t imagine living any where else. The trees are amazing in an apartment complex! Everyone is friendly and there is always something to do outside your own space. The office and maintenance staffs are great, too!
I have lived here for 5 months and have no complaints. The maintenance gentleman are wonderful and very attentive to your needs. The staff is very pleasant and have always responded quickly with any questions I've had. Parking is ample. The complex has mature greenery with flowering trees and bushes and is very pretty. It's been many years since I've lived in an apartment and I have to say this is one of the best.
I have been living here for a little over one year. I like the fact that all apartments have their own entry way. It's quiet here and the tenants keep to themselves. Unfortunately, the complex has problems keeping fully staff. I have counted 5 or 6 maintance guys who have started and quit in my one year here. The staff is reactive in stead of proactive. The appliances and fixtures are old and need to be replaced. The walls are thin and are poorly insulated. Winter here can be really cold or very expensive.
Love the location. Staff very helpful and I'm excited about the move.
The complex sits back from a busy road so you can't see in. I like that. They have saved so many trees so it looks more like a neighborhood than a plain apartment complex. It is my first choice of several for the location and amenities.
Over the last three years, my family has traveled a lot, and we have lived in four different apartment complexes of which got high ratings and seemed nice -- only to move in and have parties and noise all night... NOT HERE, we have lived here for 4 months while buying a house and have never had a noise issue, a problem or something to complain about. The office staff is top notch and cares about you. The community is pristine in maintenance and if something breaks they have been there before hanging up the phone it seemed. Highly, highly recommend this Community!
