Property Ratings at Grant Village
I went there to see the apartment. The lady who showed me an apartment was so rude and not helpful. They don't want to do the business. I would not recommend anyone to rent the apartment there.
Rotting, Moldy basement that is flooded. Unit looks ok at first but soon the cracks show and everything might as well be held together with spit and mud. The office will lie to you about crime rate and maintenance- they only care about money.
The place falling apart, I complained about mice’s and they never did nothing about it, there’s mold, the ceilings all have cracks because of how old the building is, they do not care, all they care about is the money, bathroom tiles falling off, there’s bugs, the office people are rude and unprofessional
Don't move here. All they care about is money. There is always standing water in the basements with mold and bugs. The laundry machine are down there and they hardly ever work and when they do they flood the floors. It's absolutely disgusting. The entire place is falling apart. My entire ceiling above my tub fell into my tub a few times. They never fixed it right. I was afraid to shower. The woman in the office are liars. Do yourself a favor and look somewhere else. You will regret moving here.
They fixed the water seepage in my building's basement, but now it smells like a swamp again. Every month they harass me, because my government housing payment is lost in their office. The whole complex is sub-standard.

If I could rate this lower than 1 star I would. Where to even begin? My unit was decent, but there’s an overall smell to these apartments if the windows are kept closed, which you must do when you leave because of local crime, however when you’re home in winter you need to keep the window open because the unit is always hot - they control your heat. The railing on the interior stairs is weak/broken constantly, and when it was destroyed by a tenant moving out it was repaired poorly. I was worried every time my mother came over that the railing would break and she would fall. In the 3 years I lived there, the basement has been disgusting and only got worse: rotting foundation, standing water, black and green mold, rotting radiators, etc. Add to this the fact that the basements connect all units in a building (you can go down into the basement at your unit and come up in someone else’s hall - so unsafe!) and the door down into my basement was broken for the full three years I resided there. The basement was so disgusting and rank I never did laundry there, maybe a handful of times when I was desperate in the 3 years I stayed. The week I moved out, the doorknob only was repaired - basement still is a moldy mess. Also the week I moved, the lights in the lot blew so I moved out in pitch black. I have had the police show up to my apartment looking for the previous tenant and demanding to search my unit for that person Bc he was wanted for some drug crime, you’ll have people at all hours knocking on your window or buzzing your door from outside bc they forgot their keys and management charges $30 if you lock yourself out. Plumbing is terrible, don’t bother asking for them to repair it, it breaks again immediately - better off doing it yourself. I feel so bad for everyone still living there - no one deserves to live like this! I never once left for work and felt certain my apartment was going to be safe and secure while I was gone, and after a woman was murdered next door I installed a home security system until I could get myself out. I’m not sure who writes the good reviews - maybe people who were in a bad spot grateful to get a place to stay, but no one deserves to live here. There is such a huge disconnect in what they say and the reality of living here. Management should have to stay a week in these apartments and use the laundry - I wonder if it would still be in such disrepair!
Staff is readily available. When you call for maintenance, they come the same day. I feel safe here with the intercom security system at each building. Very affordable, and staff willing to work with people that don't have perfect credit. The only negative is square footage, but definitely satisfactory.

Their current staff are very unprofessional and rude and i would not rent here.
if you live here, it's only about 13 minutes away and one could walk to James street and do other chores.
The Grant Village Apartments are in a very convenient location. A large shopping mall is located within a half a mile, and they are not far from the town of Liverpool to one end of the long road and Camillus to the other. Both are excellent towns. The one bedroom apartment that I saw had adequate sized appliances, was spacious and bright and well cared for. The staff were most kind and gracious, assisting me when I was locked out of my car and awaiting the service company. The staff and residents all were very warm, friendly and inviting at Grant Village Apts.
