Property Ratings at The Pointe on Fleur
Sat for over 24 hours with flooded kitchen and soaked carpets because emergency line and leasing office couldn’t communicate correctly with maintenance. Called 6 times and never heard back, was told they “texted” them.

We are disappointed to hear about your experience and perception of our community. This is not the standard of service we strive to provide. Our team endeavors to address maintenance requests promptly and efficiently. We’d like to discuss this further to better understand and address your concerns. Please visit our leasing office at your earliest convenience. Thank you.
If you want disrespectful neighbors, love to see trash throughout the property and inside the buildings, then is place is for you! Management tries so hard to keep with with all the b.s. that happens around the property, but the residents have absolutely NO respect for their neighbors, the property or management. Please save yourself the stress of living here and go live somewhere else.
The staff is friendly and happy to assist with issues! They also have many amenities on site as well as lots of places to visit near by.
I recently moved into these apartments. So far the office made it an easy process and I haven't had any maintenance issues yet.
I can't speak to how it was before with all these reviews, but with the new management team and the focus they've put on the property, there's a lot to look forward to here. They've actually got people in the office that take pride in Grays Lake now.
No management, inhabitable living arrangements etc. It is so noisy and always smells like marijuana but there is NEVER a manager in the office also they have so so so much mold in building 2740 and they do nothing to fix the issue that’s causing the mold downstairs whatsoever. They expect you to come out of pocket and fix whatever is wrong in your unit. This place is horrible and I feel bad for all the tenants who live in 2740 because their health will deteriorate throughout the years but management will offer them a pathetic $100 off rent and a carpet clean to resign a lease. They will literally keep putting notes on the door claiming that you basically can’t just move without a 60 day notice prior to your potential lease renewal.
The neighbors can be very loud we have lived here almost a year have put in multiple complaints to the office and to security and nothing has been done. Our upstairs neighbors have thrown stuff off the balcony and poured things off the balcony causing it to hit our balcony and we complain to the office and all they do is put a note on the entry way doors. I honestly don't recommend living here unless your fine with people throwing garbage in the hallways, loud noise all throughout the day and night, and no communication from the office at all.
They are very nice I would recommend 10/10 nice rooms big space and a pool it is so nice
I like my apartment it is a nice place to live. Quiet and affordable. I love it here. Recent management company change. Seem like very caring people!
Customer Service has been great, office helpful. Maintenance fixes things right away.
This place really makes you feel like family! Anything you need or have a concern about their on it. Any time anything needs addressing they take care of it and some. Their always doing updates on site and silly things like making sure you have energy saving light bulbs in. The price obviously speaks for itself. But the best part to me and my little family is how they make us feel like family. The leasing agent is a tough cookie and that makes for freat neighbors keep up the great work hot stuff! There might also be someone in the office who i feel like dont belong sometimes but she definitely has a nitch for business and thats what keeps us all going. To live here for 3 years has been AMAZING and to say that is putting it light. I came here in a hurry from florida and needed to have a safe place from a domestic past and this place has yet to have failed me. If you all up there see this you know who this is. And i love u all! Thanks for everything!!
I've had a roach problem since I moved in nov 7 2017 and with my kids asthma that's not acceptable. So I got an extended stay hotel from nov 15 to Dec 15 because they were supposed to be taking care of the issue. They said they'd have pest control out once a week for a month but got home today with 6 roaches in my kitchen a lone. Staff is nice that's about it!
If you don't mind *constant* loud noises, I think you could like it here. I think my apartment and the grounds look pretty nice. But the walls and the floors are paper-thin. So you will hear every TV show your neighbors watch (mine seem to never shut their TV off), and hear every fight or small gathering of friends that they have. Also, it is a very old building and the doors have been repainted many times, so they are thick and stick like crazy, especially when it's humid. Also, the maintenance of the outer doors is not kept up well. So every.single.time. a door is closed, it is slammed. Think about that. It's a huge building with many tenants. Think about being cozy in your bed, drifting happily off to sleep, when suddenly BAM! A door slams, and you sit-up, rod-straight, panicking, certain that murderers are breaking in to stab you in your bed. Imagine it happening several times per night, especially on the weekends. In point of fact, I am only writing this review right now because it is one in the morning on a Wednesday night and I can't sleep because of slamming doors and neighbors playing music. And yes, I have a large fan, a noise machine, and my own music. Nothing helps. Honestly, it was either write this review, or have a complete melt-down and run screaming down the halls, begging everyone to please, please, please shut up and let me sleep.
When moving in the apartment was not clean. Took management months to fix my garbage disposal. maintenance there is horrible. When I left they kept most of my deposit for damages despite it being in better condition and cleaner than when I came in.
I have lived in my one bedroom here at Grays Lake Apartments for almost six months. My apartment is very spacious and quiet. The staff here are all professional and friendly. Coming from a home I've lived at for eight years to here has been a pleasant and positive experience.
Pros- the management are all fairly nice and im sure they want to do a good job. The dog park is a nice addition. The location of the apartments couldnt be better. Cons- You can hear every single thing the people above you are doing. Im sure they are just like anyone else and not trying to be loud, its simply the construction of the building. And this cannot be fixed, they would have to rip down the walls and ceilings and re-do everything, which simply is not gonna happen. I have been here for almost 3 years and all three people above me have been super loud. Either i have terrible luck, or its the building. Few people pick up after their dogs and there is poo all over the place. The guy across the hall free me was a hoarder and brought cockroaches with him and they soon made their way into my apt. It has been a recurring problem now for over a year. While the apt does have air conditioning, it is not nearly big enough to cool the entire apt. You have to leave the a/c on continuously and use a series of box fans to get the bedrooms cooled down and your utility bill will sky rocket. In the summer my bill is around $130, compared to $30 in the winter. As i said i have been here 3 years. I have never even been late on rent, not even once. My lease is up but i need to stay for an extra 2 months till i close on a property. They charge an extra $200 a month to live here on a month to month basis. Even after 3 years of being a great tenant, they said this fee cannot be waived. As I've said, the negitives outway the positives. Especially the noise. Nobody wants to come home after work and have the annoyance of the people above you making all sorts of racket. I would definitely look elsewhere for an apt.

Thank you for your feedback. I am sorry to hear that you are unhappy with your residency here. Our staff works hard to make sure every resident has an enjoyable living experience here, and we apologize for any inconveniences or difficulties you've experienced. We cannot make an exception and waive the month-to-month fees because that would be unfair to others. Please contact us, and we will work to resolve your situation. Thank you.
Way too much to put on here. Upon move in, the apartment we selected apparently took too long to clean so we were instead put in a different one at $30 more per month. Then we had to have the kitchen, living room, and one of the bedrooms completely rewired because none of the sockets worked. And the dishwasher had to be replaced. And the sliding door wouldn't lock. Oh, and there were a few hundred COCKROACHES. It didn't get better as we settled in. Thin floors let you hear absolutely everything from upstairs, and they didn't tell us there was a renovation going on upstairs when we asked if they knew why there was hammering and the water kept turning off. Instead, the lady contradicted everything I said and focused on the fact that it's apparently against the complex's rules to work from home. Which is ABSURD. We can't wait to move out.

I moved in to a 2 bedroom on a special rate as long as I moved in by a certain date, and it was $9 more for a 2 bed than a 1 bed. The apartment doesn't seem like one of their best, but for my purposes it was perfect. I moved to Iowa and had a good income and many places Downtown, where I worked were income restricted and I made to much money for any apartment I saw in the DT area and one one that was available was $1000 plus all utilities. Grays lake apartments covers gas, which is what the heat and the stove/oven uses. Electric is cheap for me and there is only 2 options for internet/T.V., one with really slow speeds and the other with fasted internet and T.V. The website has an online portal for paying your rent with ACH bank account transfers and submitting maintenance requests. It is a bit slow and sometimes they don't understand what you are reporting or they don't explain as well on the repair tickets they leave on the door. Overall great first apartment and friendly staff. I didn't try the pool before it was closed for the season and the gym looks ...outdated. The laundry rooms at least use cards that you can buy credit online and then go to the card machine in the office and load your card to use for your laundry. Been here for 2 going on 3 months now and I haven't experienced anything more than small annoyances that were swiftly corrected. Great apartment for temp. employees.
My boyfriend, myself and our two kitties live at this home! We love it because it's away from lots of people, we have privacy and it's mostly quite. Although, the gutter over our deck has a hole it in.. So every time it rains, we get a huge waterfall over our deck. Good thing I like the sound of rain! Thanks! :) Grays lake apartment. Des Moines.
