Property Ratings at Green Oaks Apartments
I spent almost 2 years living at Green Oaks and highly recommend it. Maintenance was handled timely always & if I hadn’t purchased a home, I would still be living there
I'm going on a year in August. Have to say that it has been a great experience love my apartment. The Main office staff are Professional and helpful. My girl Tamika has been so helpful and beautiful soul. I know it hasn't been for me but right now I love it the people around are so friendly. : ) :)
I have been a tenant for 2 years never had any issues until recently, l was scheduled for an inspection they came inspected my apartment then l go to renew my lease and l found out that my rent is being increased before then l didn't receive any notice of it and the leasing agent said "l thought l received some back from you an regards to your rent increase and l told her l never received anything from them, so she got fumbling through papers for something l never received. I told l wanted to speak to the property manager and l spoke to the property manager over an told her l never received notice my rent was going up she said well notices went out an l told l never got my notice and they suppose give me at least 60 days of notice that my rent will go up and l ask her how can she prove that they gave me notice and continued to speak in circles nothing came out that conversation and they refuse to acknowledge someone in that office made an error, and no accountability was taken very disappointing, by it being too late to move l have no choice but resign my lease ,THIS WILL BE MY LAST YEAR THERE l will be moving next year !!
Money hungry Always cold, the heat never works! Rude management Dog boo-boo everywhere They will tow your car before you can even if you have the pass, experienced it TWICE!
The management were very rude and unwelcoming from the time I walked in the office until the time I returned to retrieve my rental info. I was given an apartment and written agreement stating that I was moving in on a specific day and then was told my apartment was given away with no other recourse for another apartment. They were very unprofessional and appeared to be money hungry. The office/laundry room area was very unkept and dirty as well. Do not move here.
One week prior to move in, I was called and told my app was denied as they couldn’t verify previous landlord. They received my app a month prior. They blamed my agent for not following up and said he was out of town. Eventually was able to verify landlord. Move in day, 11/1/21, no apology for poor customer service. Did a walk through, a whole list of things to be fixed; including broken front door, toilet handle and shower head. No response from management on when items can be prepared. They don’t let you see your unit, until you move in. Management is horrible and the apartments are not as they appear online or in the model unit. I moved in as its Chicago in the winter, options limited. But I will be requesting to speak to someone over the current management
I have lived here for 14 years. This is a great place to raise children. The management team here is amazingly awesome! Denise the property manager is kind and compassionate about her job. I have not had any problems since living here. Green Oaks is a quite and clean place to live.
My husband, my kids and I have lived here for about three years now. We love the area. It is quiet, clean and well kept. The office staff Denise, LaJai, Tameka and Kaitlin have been very reasonable and helpful. The maintenance staff especially Chris and Jim do a great job on the work orders and maintenance. Green Oaks Apartments is a great place to live.
KUDOS to the Green Oaks Apartments' Property Manager & Staff. Five years ago, I moved here from southern Illinois & I thank the Leasing Agent who diligently assisted me, long distance, in getting documents to her. I drove up one weekend saw the property and fell in LOVE. Now that I'm a resident, I am truly blessed to call Green Oaks my home. During the past couple of years, I was on medical leave of absence twice and as you know you're only granted 60% of regular income for disability. Both times I struggled with paying my rent on time, after 3 years of paying on time. I shared my situation with the Property Manager and kept her abreast of things. She's very understanding and has a great heart so I don't take advantage of that. Rent is very affordable for this area; our hallways, door knobs, parking lots, etc. were updated and everything looks GREAT! Last month after a major snowstorm, maintenance staff knocked on every door asking us to move our cars so that the oversize "earth mover" could move the snow out of parking spaces keeping us safe. Staff work hard and have our best interest at heart. Looking forward to the Tenant Appreciation Picnic every summer. THANKS ALL!
The management at Green Oaks will take your money and give more excuses to take more of it. They are not to be trusted and will lure you into an awful lease. The streets are never plowed and cars always get stuck during the winter. The apartments seem to be in nice condition, but will soon fall apart (i.e; electrical issues, cabinets breaking off, loose balconies) and then YOU will be blamed for the charges. They have tow trucks coming in and out of the apartment about three times an hour, very unsettling. When there are work orders that need to be done, they will push them out as far as they can go. Denise, Landlord of Green Oaks, will have you avoid all of the necessary parts in the lease and skip important information. Please listen to what I have to say. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE.
Property Manager at Green Oaks Apartments, Responded To This Review
Everyone has a chance to read the lease and all paperwork before signing and leasing with us. The only time people are charged for damages is when they are responsible. The tow trucks drive the property so, non-visitors are not parking in designated spots for the residents. So, whom ever this person is must have experienced all of what is written and had to pay the price. Overall this is a good place to live.
I moved in February of 2013 and this is my fault I did it out of desperation to finally have my 1st apartment. Let me start of by saying Denise the office manager is very rude and she will treat you as if you mean nothing and everything is your fault. They DO NOT take into consideration your seniority. This is my story. Rent is due on the 5th of every month. I had gotten my money order on the 3rd of September 2016 and left it in my purse. It wasn't till the 7th of September that I realized I had never dropped the money order off which is my fault. So I bring it in on the 7th and apologize and they tell me I owe $100 late fee. The money order clearly states I got it on the 3rd why in the world are they charging me $100 extra for turning it in 2 days late and I've never been late on my rent for the almost 4 years that I've been here?! Not only that but I put a work order in on September 3rd because my oven blew out. It is now September 17th and my oven still isn't in working condition. I call the office to speak to Denise and she tells me the maintenance guy should have informed me that the stove had to be replaced and it's on backorder which was never spoken of when I talked to the maintenance guy and Denise says well I'm letting you know now that it's on back order. I tell Denise what do I get for my inconvenience? She tells me we have 30 days to fix the probkems you have per your lease. I'm thinking what lease you idiot my lease ended in August and they never called me in to sign a new one. They put a letter on my door stating the $100 late fee is due on September 23 no later, otherwise they're taking me to court and will not take my rent for October. I spoke this up to Denise and she stated as long as I pay the late fee with the rent in October I'd be fine. These people baffle me. To my understanding they're willing to take me to court for $100 if I don't pay it they'll evict me. Like are you guys serious over $100?!! Denise tells me well at least the other half of your stove is still working...This ladys customer service sucks ---. Theyre obviously incapable of doing their jobs right. They dont even know that i have no lease right now! I did speak it up to my coordinator last month but i guess Greg forgot of course. Moral of the story: DO NOT RENT HERE! They're all about money!! Everything will be your fault at the end. I called corporate and of course I had to leave a message. Lets see how this goes.
Property Manager at Green Oaks Apartments, Responded To This Review
First I want to start by saying rent is not due the 5th it is due the 1st of the month and there is a 5 day grace period. It doesn't matter if your check or money order is dated before the 5th and we don't receive it until after then it is considered late. Yes, there is a late fee after the 5th of each month. The rest isn't true and we choose not to respond.
Property Manager at Green Oaks Apartments, Responded To This Review
First I would like to say that the rent is due on the 1st of every month and not the 5th, you do have a 5 day grace period. If rent is dropped off after the 5th then yes, we charge a $100 late fee. We have a great maintenance staff here and they can't always control the delivery of supplies/appliances. Sometimes supplies are on back order and maintenance do inform the residents. We encourage all move-ins to get rental insurance as we put information in all move-in packages. Green Oaks is a great place to live and we have great tenants here, sometimes people get angry and post things on line. We try very hard to work with our residents and the property manager is fair to all.
this apartment complex is simply awesome & amazing.. the administrators, the staff including maintenance, our neighbors, our property & our community as a whole is fantastic. this is my 3rd time renting at a complex & this is by far the best place to call home. my family of 3, we love our apartment with big spaces to move around, big rooms & big closets. this complex is well kept & anything we need the administrators, staff, & maintenence is only a phone call away. we love this complex & our home.
This is my first apartment and I love it. Maintenance is amazing the grounds are beautiful. I just have an issue with the parking lot have large holes and visitor parking not being sufficient. I enjoy the community it's a great place for children.
Good neighborhood that is senior, children, and pet friendly. I like that there is an office and maintenance staff on the premises for emergencies and safety issues. The police department and library are only a couple of blocks away. The school districts are some of the best in Illinois.
The atmosphere here in Palos Hills alone is enough to make you want to spend several years if not the rest of your life here. Add onto that a quiet neighborhood, spacious apartment with a caring staff on hand and wonderful maintenance team and you have a winning combination for good living. I love calling this place my home and I can easily see myself here for as long as they let me!
