With rows of historic and colorful buildings lining wide sidewalks and jaunty awnings adorning locally-owned shops and cafes, there's good reason many new residents seek out Greenpoint. This trendy neighborhood is located in northern Brooklyn, and it really does have something for everyone: it is filled with artists, it is the go-to place for the finest restaurants and bars around, and it has some of the best public schools in New York. The neighborhood is so photogenic it was even used as the setting for HBO's hit series, Girls. It provides terrific parks, such as McCarren Park, which is home to the Greenpoint McCarren Park Greenmarket -- a year-round farmer's market. Msgr. McGolrick Park is home to a historic pavilion, a playground, picnic areas, and several monuments.
Go walking along Manhattan Avenue, Greenpoint's busy shopping district, and you'll discover why so many are moving to this once-hidden location.

Property Ratings at Greenpoint Market
Before considering 101 Bedford as your new home, be aware that the building has a significant rat infestation issue. For months, my apartment walls have been the playground for rats, disrupting sleep and daily life. Despite sending multiple videos and complaints to management, the problem persists unresolved. Please consider this before making your decision.
The staff is generally lovely and the amenities are nice. That's where the good ends. The core issue here is MACK MGMT, the management company which runs this place and is farcically out of touch and inefficient. The building is SURROUNDED ON ALL 3 SIDES BY CONSTRUCTION, yet they continue to raise rents. For this reason the building is never full and people are constantly moving out. The building itself is poorly built and plagued by structural problems (eg- "wind" making the elevators have to shut down for weeks). Management is rude and adversarial. There are many more luxury buildings in the neighborhood now, this is not the one to choose for the price. Avoid 21 India.
The positive is that staff are helpful and take care of fixing things in my apartment when needed. The building is well designed, and my apartment is beautiful. On the negative is poor communication from management, ongoing problems with the hot water, and some of the tenants behavior, although that has improved somewhat.
package thieves, noise, lack of consistent hot water...clean building and prompt service
