Property Ratings at Griffis Mission Valley
Maintenance: The maintenance staff are great—responsive and efficient. Unfortunately, the office staff aren’t as effective. Grounds: The complex looks nice from afar, but inside, it's littered with trash, dog waste, and dirty areas. The pool is hit or miss, often unclean and unheated. There’s frequent dumping of large items, and we all end up paying for the cleanup. Safety: The garage gate often malfunctions, making it easy for unauthorized people to enter. The security staff are rarely seen, and parking enforcement is lax. Neighborhood: Located by the noisy freeway, with limited nearby amenities. The bus stop is convenient, but there are noisy pool parties and occasional issues with homeless individuals near the west entrance. Noise: Expect noise from the freeway and loud garbage pickup, especially if you’re near the west garage. Noisy neighbors are also a problem, with the inept office staff failing to address complaints. Office Staff: They’re friendly but ineffective. The focus seems to be on appearances rather than solving real problems. Overall: If you can’t find a better place, this complex might work, but be aware of its many issues. Avoid the west gate area and consider a top-floor unit to minimize potential noise problems from your neighbors.

I recently toured Griffis Mission Valley and had to leave a review based on my experience. The property itself is wonderful, but the people I met really made the experience a stand out one! Zoe, the leasing agent that I toured with, was personable and charismatic. She made me feel so welcome and made me want to be a part of the community. She showed me their recent upgrades to the apartment homes and, WOW, they look amazing! 10/10 experience and a 10/10 apartment community. I can’t wait to move in!

Beyond absurd. My car was towed inside the garage by leasing at 1am. My car was registered in the system and I paid parking every single month. Their reason was simply "my sticker was not visible" and "for security". For what security????????? They can clearly contacted me beforehand but no, simply towed away, No communication or help from the leasing at all, I had to call the towing company myself and pay over 300 dollars to get it back in a weekday morning and missing school/work. For all my neighbors here, just watch out. I was still lost of words for what happened.

This is the worst place I've lived at. Been under 3 different management in less than 1 year I've been here. Griffis is the worst of them all. This is what you're looking at for paying luxury apartments pricing, which also is getting increased: 1) constant water shut off, at least few times a month, sometimes even once or twice a week 2) we haven't had access to our mailbox in OVER a month and mails and packages are being stolen 3) their parcel locker is constantly not working either, more lost packages 4) there are flies and bugs everywhere, it's just nasty 5) security is a joke here, not sure I've even seen one lol 6) cars getting broken into all the time, but now we are being charged more for parking too....but obviously without any of the current issues being resolved 7) also, they LOVE to ignore your concerns and complaints. Sure they have a community wall, but it is all monitored so they reject all your complaints and concerns. Not only that, they don't even bother to reach out to you to resolve these issues. So if that's what you're looking for as your next home at a premium price, then maybe you'll love it here. Otherwise, just do yourself a favor and look somewhere else.

Thank you for your review of Griffis Mission Valley. We understand the frustrations that can come with changes being made in a community. We are currently making many updates to our community and should have the mailboxes sorted out very soon. Additionally, we do send out notices about water shutoffs and other routine maintenance in our community update emails. Our site team would be more than happy to sit down and help set you up so you can receive those, as well as address any other concerns you might have. We are also working out a new patrol schedule with our security patrol vendor, and you should be seeing them more consistently soon. Please let us know if there is anything else we can do to improve your experience with us.
My apartment is beautiful, and the staff here is very friendly and helpful!
Vehicle was broken into 5 times, 2 times in the same month. Caught a burglar one time. When i asked management about it, they stated that they are not responsible for your safety. So if you or your family is attacked by a thief or homeless person, they are not responsible, even though it can happen on their property. Packages get stolen on a daily basis because of no security. Trash rooms get full because property management doesn't take out the trash, and water gets shut off once a month. Look elsewhere.
Look elsewhere! Terrible maintenance management! Read 1 star review before choosing this place! I should’ve believed it. Lived here for a year and all I get are empty promises. Got my bike stolen twice. Asked them to provide me a video of the garage and they said they will and followed up and waited multiple times and got nothing. SECURITY is a major issue even with the gate!! Multiple water heaters were busted in my area including ours that required our water to be turned off multiple times and have to deal with a flooded non livable bedroom for days. Now I got back from vacation and arrived to a water heater and no hot water for a week now!! A WEEK! And they have 1 maintenance person for the whole complex. Then, now their parcel where you get your packages is down for a whole pick and presidio view and parcel pending are doing the blame game and not getting it fixed for a week now. This place is just falling apart. Terrible management! Paying premium price for a substandard service. I will not be recommending this place and would not renew my Lease. Look elsewhere. There are a lot better apartment nearby. Can't wait to move out. Few more days!
I have lived at Presidio going on 6 years. Overall I have very much enjoyed my time here. When I have friends over they invariably comment on how nice the complex is.
I love my apartment! It has all the amenities, the location is great, and it feels like I live in a resort or spa with the bamboo and stream outside. Management is cool and maintenance is quick to respond, too.
wonderful environment, friendly neighbors, and inviting to pet parents.
The apartment looks nice from afar and may seem like a luxury complex, but the experience of living here is subpar. Managements poor communication has made handling any apartment issues extremely difficult. Our apartment was not ready for move in even with several weeks between the date of the last tenants move out and our move in. Ive tried my best to be patient and understanding through all of this but it feels like all of these problems have gone unheard and/or ignored by management. After giving them the benefit of the doubt time and time again, I am incredibly disappointed with how we have been treated as new residents.
I enjoy the amenities and location and quality of the apartments at Presidio. However I do not enjoy the the overflowing amounts of garbage/trash in the parking garage. That is my only complaint.
I walked in with a newly acquired voucher for rental assistance and was told by the mgr. they don't accept voucher. Not updated on current laws. They missed out on a good tenant with great credit and rental history.
