Property Ratings at Griffis Pine Avenue
Everything in the apartment is up to date and nice. The location is wonderful as there are restaurants, grocery stores, pharmacies, bars, cafes, everything you’d need in walking distance. The move in process was wonderful, Kimberly helped me all the way from first looks at the apartment to after move-in. She is very responsive, well-informed, and kind. I had no issues at all with my move in process, it was very smooth and easy.
Property Manager at Griffis Pine Avenue, Responded To This Review
Hi, thank you for sharing your positive experience with us! We are thrilled to hear that Kimberly was helpful during your move-in process and that you are enjoying the convenience of our location. We aim to provide a smooth and welcoming experience for all our residents!
We have regular issues with the garbage rooms, although it has slightly improved. We have had problems with dog pee, poop and vomit in the hallways as a regular issue. Lights are out in the entryway from the garage, and garbage is always accumulating around the entry ways. They do not hire enough maintenance staff or cleaning staff. Multiple letters and complaints filed. The people who work here are extremely nice, but security is awful. Cars broken into in the "gated" parking. No cameras to monitor anything. Must run water for 10 min to get hot water in kitchen sink, and 5 min for master bath. Really awful for environmental concerns, and you have to pay for water as well.
Property Manager at Griffis Pine Avenue, Responded To This Review
Thank you for sharing your experience with us. We recently changed our housekeeping services and they now should be doing rounds checking garbage rooms five days a week. We also encourage our residents to be respectful of our neighbors and pick up after their pets, but if you notice anything out of place, our site team would be more than happy to help put in a request for cleaning. Living in a city apartment can sometimes come with concerns, and we alerted our courtesy patrol to increase rounds and are working with neighboring businesses to watch parking garages. Please let us know if there is anything else we can do for you, and we appreciate your patience as we continue to improve our community.
I have lived here for more than two years and have generally been quite satisfied. When Griffis took over from City Place last Fall, there were some changes mostly good ones - the buildings were spruced up and the outside painted. Now there is a total remodel about to happen putting some amenities out of commission temporarily (gym) and others permanently (business center). This is unfortunate as the business center (computers, printer) were very popular with residents, myself included. Plus the leasing office and package pick up has temporarily moved out of the way of street traffic and accessibility. Hopefully this will all be worth it.
Property Manager at Griffis Pine Avenue, Responded To This Review
Thank you for your continued residency! We understand that there is never an ideal time to close amenities and we appreciate your patience as we work to improve our service offering. We are confident that once the renovations are complete, you will love the new and improved amenities!
I absolutely love it here! The apartments are super spacious and we get a lot of natural light during the day. My dog loves the designated pet area that they have and the pool is great too. We are in a great location where everything is walking distance. Shoutout to Megan, Ashley and Jeffrey for being great staff members and making this place feel like home.

Thank you so much for your wonderful review! We are so happy to hear you love your home.
I recently moving to the City Place apartments located in down town Long Beach, the unit is a 1 bedroom 1 bathroom apartment, which is nice cozy with some nice and bright natural light coming inside thru the windows and doors. I fell in love with this apartment since I came into it. It has the feeling of what I was looking for, which makes me feel happy.
Ian not good enough, I can think any apt. Is instant take. I believe in nessitiy over betterment. Running hot cold water. I saw the little brown apt.. It looks like a state institution. It up kept on dark color. I think everybody can and will know it's rented. I can't see any friendliness. I won't assume and fret for others when friend is said out load. The apt looks like it's in face out from an alley. I can want to eyeball it but surety tells it safe with watch it. Thank you, I'll check and call for a tour.
This apartment complex is one of the best in Long Beach, CA. Whatever your personality, this place can acommadate. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Maintenance is top notch, always resolving issues quickly. The apartments are well appointed and very comfortable. Friends and family are always complimenting of the apartment itself with it's granite countertops, crown molding and perfect layout. These are the reasons that City Place Apartments in Long Beach, CA is a "little slice of heaven in the city.
