Located just a few minutes south of Hartford along Route 2, Glastonbury is an upscale community with a great family-friendly atmosphere. The local schools earn high ratings, the crime rate is far below the state and national averages, and public parks abound all over town (including several scenic areas on the banks of the Connecticut River).
The town’s history as an industrial hub is still visible in many of the local buildings—the old soap factory in particular has been repurposed into high-end condominiums. The town likes to have a good time, and community events like the Apple Harvest Festival and the Glastonbury Art Walk draw big crowds from all around the area.

Property Ratings at Griswold Garden
These units were built using a layout which diminishes any noise from your neighbors-very nice!! IF you ever have a maintenance issue, there are personnel on-site all day Monday thru Friday to handle anything from balky blinds to replacement appliances. Entrance hallways are vacuumed regularly. Our apartment was SPOTLESS when we moved in and had new paint throughout. The hardwood floors are gorgeous!! Lots of parking. Grounds are maintained regularly. This residence gives you the ultimate best bang for your buck!!Sherman and Carol.
I’ve lived in Griswold Gardens for a year and love it! Tons of closet space, good size bedrooms, nice property. Management responds quickly and is helpful.
Quiet apartment complex close to everything in Glastonbury Center and neighboring East Hartford. I rarely hear my neighbors in my building and everyone I’ve met in the community is very friendly. If you have an animal, there are doggie waste bins throughout the community on the lawn. Management has always been very helpful and the maintenance man is wonderful.
If I could give this place 0 stars I would. Management is rude and terrible to work with not to mention completely inconsiderate. The closet doors don’t work. The water temperature changes if a neighbor turns their shower on. The foundation is falling. The apartment is full of black mold. There is never enough parking in the residential area, yet we’re told not to park in the visitor area. The leasing office is open at inconvenient times and they are not accommodating.
i really like the apartments just wish they had more parking spaces for visitors. it’s very limited and it sucks when someone comes to visit you but can’t find parking ...
Property manager is off site and could care less about the residents. When you call and leave a message you are lucky to ever get a call back. Parking there is a joke. Many non residents park there and even though notices left by management state cars without parking stickers will be towed, it never happens. So if you work late, don't plan on parking in front of your apartment. Cars where vandalized and broken into there as well. Notified property management and they said they would send a notice to all residents to make them aware...never happened. Also had issues with kids using drugs outside our unit. Called to report it to property manager and nothing was every done. Refinished bathtub sealant pealed up, they never bothered to fix it. Painted bathroom windows with non water resistant paint which crated mold issues. Especially since there is no ventilation in the bathrooms. Also had a large span of time where the hot water never worked properly. This went on for 6 months and in a span of 2 months we were calling every other day to have the water fixed. Finally called the health department and it was magically all fixed up. Everything seemed to be jury rigged. Bottom line, things were never fixed. Calls never returned. Management is rude, condescending, and unresponsive. For $1400 a month you can do better.
Although the location is nice and the apartments look nice at first glace, DO NOT LIVE HERE. The apartments are noisy, management is useless, and parking is a nightmare often. Thankful to be out of here. Spend your money elsewhere.
