Property Ratings at Grove on Harcourt
Been here nearly 2 months, and I can say maintenance is absolutely horrible. The apartment you get will not be anywhere near as nice as the model they show. Everything wobbles. The faucets, towel racks, even my toilet wobbles because they didn't even bother to bolt both sides down. There's paint all over our floor because no effort was made to cover it. The hot water is out frequently. Their gutters were so bad they had rows of saplings growing in them. When they finally got around to cleaning them, they threw the debris from them onto our balcony. When we moved in, we noticed that the dryer takes 2 hours or more to dry really small loads, and dryer lint would be all over our floor. I thought the dryer vent might be loose so I went to check it. Not only was there no vent, but there is nowhere for a vent to connect to. So the dryer is just blowing hot air, humidity and lint everywhere. This is a huge oversight, and a fire and mold hazard. My electric bill is also high due to it. When I contacted the office about it, they said they'd "look into it." Apparently, they use these crummy ventless attachments (a quick research informs you that these are an insufficient substitute for actual vents, they just use these to charge more for their units). Whatever, at least it is something. But they never came to fix the issue. We checked every few days, nothing ever happens. Two weeks later, they still haven't installed the attachment. I call again, they claim they were waiting on a part to be delivered, but it came that day and they will fix it right away. They never came. Another 2 weeks, they say the same thing, it was delivered today, they'll fix it. Never came. They are so very obviously lying. It has been over a month and a half, and they still haven't fixed the issue. I have pointed out the obvious dishonesty, and they have just resorted to ignoring me. My partner and I have been very patient with them, but they have no intention to actually do their job. I would consider other options when looking for a home.
I recently moved into Grove at Harcourt, the worst decision of my life. this place looks like a shady area, I can smell pee on the main door of my building, there are multiple service issues, and despite login service calls no body comes for service, These people don't care at all
I recently moved to this amazing apartment and it truly exceeded my expectations. The spacious and beautifully designed rooms made me feel right at home from the moment I walked in. The modern amenities provided everything I needed for a comfortable stay. The apartment complex itself was well-maintained and offered a peaceful atmosphere. The surrounding neighborhood was safe and conveniently located near shops, restaurants, and public transportation options. It was easy to explore the city and access various attractions. The building staff were friendly, professional, and always available to assist with any questions or concerns. The level of customer service provided was exceptional, making my stay even more enjoyable. Chris was a complete angel sent from heaven for me and my family. Deja was so kind and helpful from the very second we moved in. We also won our 150 back and was able to to pay a pro-rated amount to get into the apartment early they really understood my situation. I really owe them so much for the kindness and understanding they gave me. Overall, I highly recommend this apartment to looking for a luxurious and comfortable place to stay. It offers the perfect combination convenience, elegance, and exceptional customer service.
I love living here so much!! Great experiences and would highly recommend!
These apartments are beyond horrible. Roaches and mice are everywhere and management will repeatedly say pest control is coming. They will tell you short staffed and won't fix issues. Many people have called for help. There's trash everywhere in the neighborhood. Neighbors get robbed in the wee hours at gunpoint. People sit in cars for hours and play loud music. People smoke weed in the hallways at all hours of the day. Kid's play loudly in them as well. If you try to speak to the parent's it's opening up drama. The driveways have huge pot holes and not enough parking. You will need to carry mace or a gun walking far to your apartment. The state should condemn these apartments.
Been here 1 year and had 3 different management companies. Some highlights: Gave me the wrong key on move in, lost their copy of my key multiple times and had to change the locks Took 3 months to get me mailbox keys. 1 year later they still can't get me a storage room key. Common laundry room floods my apartment, the hallway, and shared storage areas every time someone does laundry. I've had wet carpet for months at a time and they just clean it instead of fixing the plumbing. Blame residents for the drain blockages, but won't create a permanent solution. Can't be specific about crime rate, but I encourage you to take a look at what's reported at the property. Latest is having a mandatory bug bombing scheduled and sending out a letter to empty all closets and kitchen cabinets. Remove pets from home from 9 to 5. Pest control never came and when I called the office, they said they meant to tell us that the letter was a mistake and we didn't have to do any of that, and we don't even have to have pest control come. Regional management doesn't care either.
This is the worst apartment someone can stay in , when you moving they will give you a crappie place when you ask for them to fix it they will never come and they never answer their phone I hate this place and if you black they will never come to your unit to fix your stuff and every month they need their money, I need to call corporate to explain everything to them because I’m really tired with this apartment. I wish I can give them a big ZERO.
The office never answers the phone during any time of the day. I had a Maintenance Request for over a week, nobody showed, I then put the same request in 3 different times, all around a week or 2 apart with the last attempt I asked to speak with the manager, for her to tell me maintenance lost the extra key they had for my apartment and the request was getting canceled, so I allowed them to make a new key, a man came out took some things apart on my dryer, left because he didn’t have a part and never came back. The request was canceled again! They care very little about your well being. The complex has changed management at least 3 times since I moved in, which only been 1 1/2 years. Upon my renewal I was told my rent would go down, so I sign electronically through email, not knowing I was told a complete lie and my rent went up 45$ and when I went to confront the lie they showed me the signature I did online. That had no print to read at all just a signature box and a word from an office associate. Been the worst experiment with an apartment management team I’ve ever had and I lived in Nora Pines for 2 years, so that says a lot of your aware of Nora pines service.
Not a bad experience so far and the new managers are trying to turn this place around. I have lived here for about 3 years now. The prices are decent but you pay for what you get. I have had a problems with maintenance tending to issues when needed but sometimes they only bandaid the problem and not fix it. The office staff is very friendly and go out of their way to show you they care. If I ever have problems I know Cody or Zach can always help out as much as possible. They hear me out and quickly respond to my problems. The apartments are dated as other reviews mention, but nothing is dirty and the yard is always looking good.
The management of this property is horrible. I would not recommend living here. They have no maintenance crew. I have rotted wood near my furnace and it took them 3 months to come out to even look at it. They have an insect issue with ants. I have had to have the terminex person come for 2.5 months straight. And I still see them. They don’t give you a proper and traditional notice on things. They gave me my lease renewal notice on the day I was supposed to give my 60 day notice so I had no ability to even look around. They will punish you and raise your utility bill because other Apts are having higher bills. The rent changed 3 times in 8 months. The apt made the customers pay for the rears they had when they took over the property but disguising it as a new plan for the utility bill. They have no security. They Apts are old but are now requiring us to have a 300000 policy for insurance. When I don’t have stainless steel or black appliances and have an old dishwasher and carpet on the floors. I have even called corporate and left multiple messages for Ms. Yoder who is the regional manager. She has no customer service either. Not sure how she got to her position. I would run if I were you. After saying this I have lived here for 3 years and am professional with a career, never had issues with rent always was responsible and never late on playing. Not 1 complaint against me. So if you are reading this understand this is not a hate thing. I do not want others that are responsible to have to suffer from bad service.
This place is a disaster. The walls are thin so I can hear my neighbors television and talking. Everything is cheaply updated so the paint peels, the walls scuff if you touch them, and the carpet comes up in the corners. Making rent payments is TERRIBLE. They have no grace period but they also don’t tell you what you owe for rent and utilities until the day it’s due! this month they decided to wait until 8 PM to give me a total. So I had 4 hours to get a money order or check to the office or I’d be charged $100 late fee. Luckily I have a roommate or I would be screwed because I work at 6 pm and I couldn’t get to the office. They charge 25 dollars to pay online, and you can’t split payments, you have to pay all at once. There’s always kids running in the roads unsupervised, and I can hear them screaming outside at all hours. Don’t bother trying to get ahold of anybody, emails and phone calls are always ignored so I show up during office hours and half the time nobody is there. They constantly pass out notice entries for dumb crap like “changing the light bulbs”. I’ve never had an apartment complex enter my house so many times in such a small time period. It’s annoying and a little unsettling. I hate living here I can’t wait until my lease is up.
So many issues!!!! URGH!!!!! BEFORE YOU MOVE! Even if you pay money up front to reserve an apartment, they may give you a different apartment- they won't tell you until very late. They did that twice to me and I ended up HAVING to take anything they had (obviously more expensive). They said they forgot to tell me that it may happen. I had an old dog and I explicitly told them that I didn't want stairs because my dog couldn't climb them. The only apt available had stairs, I had to put her bed downstairs. She hated it. The worst part is that she died in December- thinking probably that I loved her less. BILLING PROBLEMS. Lots of billing problems, of course overbilling! They said that it was confusion due to the changes- ha! INSPECTIONS & MAINTENANCE. Random owner "inspections", (they've come at least 4 times in 6 months) which frankly I don't know what they are for because my kitchen has flooded 4 times in the 6 months I'm here. Plus 2 "community" flooding- main pipes breaking. During the last time the kitchen flooded they left two huge fans and all lights on for 7 days - who gets to pay the bill? me! who gets to pay the extra water bill? duh- me! Nobody bothered to let me know that my first floor was not going to be functional- no kitchen, no laundry, no dining room or living room. When I complained, they told me that the contractors were supposed to fix it and have it ready. They didn't. PARKING SPACE PROBLEMS. UNBELIEVABLE but true, if you come after 9pm you will have to park blocks away from your apartment. When I complained, they told me to report it (? wasn't I doing that?) NO RECYCLING BINS. If you care about the environment, you will have to take your recycling to centers yourself. SAFETY CONCERNS- In November, a guy was killed a couple of blocks away in his apartment. and in December I heard 5 shots and some commotion on the street- WTH! no police... The next day I get a call from the office "checking" how I'm doing, I tell them about my safety concerns and they tell me that I need to call the police. So, in summary, lots of PAPERWORK and headaches, lots of things that you need to waste your time in- lots of bad moments- LOTS OF EXCUSES and LACK OF HELP! I won't stay here and I recommend you to look for something else.
We visited the area with hopes of finding an apartment, we were informed by the receptionist that they have an apartment available and gave us all the information to apply for it. We were given a date of when we can move in and the cost of everything. We submitted our application but once everything went through we were informed that the apartment was given to someone who came in after we did, they apologized knowing they did wrong and informed us that the next available apartment will be open in a couple of weeks, we decided to wait for the next one. Weeks have gone by and a week before we are to get our apartment we get a call stating that they will have to push back the date again. This is the second time we have been lied to regarding when we will be receiving an apartment. We have been wasting our time hoping to already get a place to live in, since we are currently residing in a borrowed home, and we have yet to be able to do so. The receptionist was of no help and didn't even try to fix the issue. We even gave an initial deposit of the apartment as per there request.
Moving in, promised a fenced in back yard, for it to be torn up a few weeks later when they decided they didn't want them. My apartment was done, missing drawers, closet rods, laminate in the kitchen. Had a bathroom fixed, they put a hole in the wall, took days for them to come back to patch it up (still not painted). They want to complain about patio furniture and grills, and utilize overgrown weeds as part of their trimmed landscape. Pool is always closed at least half of the season. No one hardly ever answers the phone at the office. I had sewage sitting in the laundry facility in the main hallway during a holiday weekend and they said they wouldn't have any one there until Monday. They charge utilities based off of the ENTIRE buildings usage, and divide it amongst the people and sq footage of the homes... it is a joke... sometimes that ranges from 20 to over 90 a month on top of your gas and electric. As far as other reviews.... parking lots are still under construction ha I guess they were 3 years ago too. People there don't know how to use the dumpster and trash is every where. Oh, We had a light driven over in the parking lot, never fixed. WE ALSO HAD NEIGHBORS WITH BEDBUGS... and no one from the office felt the need to tell the rest of the people in the building to take preventative measures. NASTY, GROSS.... FIND SOMEWHERE ELSE TO LIVE!!!!!!!!
If you need roaches for roommates, a office staff that is clueless don't ask the manager a question at all she will speak to you like a child, and cut you off in the middle of sentences like a child does. maintenance that patches things up instead of fixing them. Oh did I mentions the roaches? Unsafe conditions there has been a shooting out here, cars constantly being broken into. Did I forget those unwanted roommates the roach family? The apartments are spacious the master closet is nice and there are two full bathrooms, but don't be fooled them roaches like it here too. Well I tried to put some positive in to this too, but please run as fast as you can.
I have never seen a place with so many different managers, not to mention the roaches they spray once a month on Tuesday for. By the way it's not working, don't make repairs always got all these different hidden fees every month trash everywhere outside.Run fast I'm warning you.
I have been living here for 9 months and it has been horrible the apartments seem nice but they are not I had roaches I never had roaches until I made bed here I had my rent money order get stolen from the drop box me and a couple other residents and my car got broke into and my boyfriends car got stolen and the leasing office never answers the phone or help you with your issue I wouldn’t recommend these to anyone they look good on the outside that’s about it
Well, Let me just say, if you like living in filthy conditions and you do not value your health then I would say this is a prefect place for you. Roaches, Rodents and the worst ghetto slums for neighbors. This place opperates like it's public housing in the inner city. Now the office staff will charge excessively for anything they seem is necessary. Unethical behavior from maintenance staff coming in at hours you didn't approve of. Things of value in your apartment, will go missing and office staff will not even twitch and eyebrow at your complaint. This is because it is so typically done here everyday. This is the norm for this property. A living nightmare. Do Not Enter!!!
All said below, keep in mind, this is home and my children are happy and have a roof over them so I am mostly pleased to call this spacious place home. The parking lots could use some repaving. Which they are trying to do but taking a long time. Thankfully there are 2 pools because one is ALWAYS closed due to chemicals, cleaning, or something. Management has been nice and pleasant. Maintenance was fairly timely but lacking in knowledge. But hey, it's apartment living so I guess all you can expect is for them to try. Don't care too much for having a "common" entranceway due to noise and lack of a well sealed door.
At 1st I was hesitant.because when I went to view and fill out and app mind you I had already spoken to the lady 3 time before and seen her face to face twice ...when I went to sign the lease she didn't know who I was.... But since I have been here a while now it's getting better .
This apartment is cost-effective, pet-friendly, and inclusive of all peoples. The management is extremely approachable and does their best to make our apartment complex into a full-fledged community. The landscaping is kept up very well, and people are trusting and welcoming. Parts of our parking lots are currently under construction, but the management has been communicating updates with residents regularly. I would recommend this complex to anyone. It is affordable, clean, and has a community atmosphere.
