Property Ratings at Hague Towers
Everywhere Roaches and bugs, the worst experience!
Property Manager at Hague Towers, Responded To This Review
We apologize for the inconvenience you faced with roaches and bugs during your stay with us. Thank you for bringing this to our attention and we will take immediate action to resolve this issue. Have a great day!
Dirty , rude staff. Always turning off the water. Bugs everywhere . I can’t wait to move from here. Way over priced for what it is. Newer buildings around same price or cheaper. A lot of crime here. Cars are broken into often. No security
Mold, Roaches, Rats, all generated by two things the building cant manage, Heat, and water. First, they don't have individual AC for each unit, its all controlled. no water, its always turned off, no elevator you're always waiting. this place is a hazard. DO NOT LIVE HERE. youll be cooked to death when your apartment hits 90 degrees internally DURING THE WINTER. thats how broken the HVAC system is.
Floods all the time. Bugs everywhere. Nothing works. Staff doesn't care at all about anything. Dirty. Horrible place to live
Repeat roach problems that the company does not resolve. Inconsistent hot water availability. No railings on the balcony for the past 3 months...just an open concrete slab with an indefinite timeframe on when railings will be added. Dirty pool. The office has never returned a phone call for any complaint I've had; they do their best to ignore tenants here. If you are lucky enough to find someone in the office and complain, they claim they are "working on it". Any verbal response they provide is the polite equivalent of..."Sucks to be you. Glad I don't live here." I have also complained to the parent company, with no response or resolution to any problem. AVOID HAGUE TOWERS AND ANY PROPERTY OWNED BY THE PARENT COMPANY JMG REALTY UPDATE: Things have continued to get worse. Got trapped in the elevator...multiple times. The ladies in the office think it is funny that people get trapped in the elevator. I was in the lobby when I heard them talking about it. Also...they supposedly had to fix a plumbing issue in the apartment above mine and needed to cut through my bedroom closet to fix the problem. I was told this would be a 1 day thing, that they would seal off the closet so as to keep dust and debris in the work area, etc. I came home that day and found my bedroom trashed. There is a giant hole in closet wall, and there appears to be some sort of sewage water on the wall and in the carpet. My bed was messed with and taken apart; I did not leave it in that condition, and now there are grease marks or something on the sheets. Dust and paint/wall debris are everywhere. Things in the bathroom were also messed with. Things had been moved, knocked over, and some sort of residue was left on my toiletries. I went down to the office and complained. Their reponse was to tape plastic over the hole...and that was it! Their response to everything else....{ with purses lips..."oooh"}. Someone look at this tell me this is acceptable. It has been 3 days...and my bedroom is still in this condition. I've had to sleep in the living room since this incident. I can't even sleep in my own bed due to the conditions of this bedroom!
I wish I had believed the reviews. Bugs are awful in the whole building. Hot tub has been broken for months. Broken AC. One of their employees hit my car in the parking lot. They could care less. The staff is actually the worst part. Worst place I’ve ever lived. Can’t wait until my lease is up.
trash everywhere, maintenance is non existent! The office could care less about ANYTHING. There's roaches in every apartment!! flooding so can't park close to building and peoples cars get broken into nightly, my neighbor windshield got smashed and they said the security cameras aren't even set up. Pool is always being worked on so no use and the hot tub has been broken the whole year I have lived here. Counting down the days until my lease is up. I didn't listen to the reviews and I honestly wish I did.
Must Read( Waterbug Infestation) No Matter how many improvements that they make to the improve the appearance of the place they still cannot contain the bugs that are in the apartment from the outside they look like nice luxury apartments but when you see the flying bugs that they have you will think twice! Wish I would’ve seen honest reviews of the place before being forced into a lease by the management office
The location is fantastic! The apartments are larger than the newer buildings because it is over 46 years old and you do get a balcony. The refurbished apartments are up to date with flooring, stainless steel kitchen appliances and bathroom counters and toilets. Unfortunately, they are more concerned with the appearance to rent. The bad news is they have done everything from the outside and the inside needs major repairs. Everything starts falling apart when you move in! Don't be fooled by the entrance of the building. Major factors to be concerned about is the safety of the building because anyone can dial in or follow you in. There are no cameras on any of the floors or the horrible laundry room. The cleanliness of the apartment hallways is appalling from carpet, tile and much needed painting. Since there is no concern for keeping things clean such as garbage chute etc., they have a major roach problem. In addition, they allow smoking on all the floors and they don't recycle. The cleaning staff complains that they must do their job and they don't. The office staff just smiles. The property management company either knows all that is going on or doesn't want to know. As I said, great location but if you are looking for problems to be resolved once you move in... stand in line.
Problems I have experienced that you should think twice about before moving in: - Loud - Frequent flooding - Water is occasionally shut off without warning. Have woken up multiple times unable to shower or brush my teeth - Frequent construction. Renovations on apartments can be quite loud and disruptive. - No control over AC. Every season change expect to have hot nights without AC Just don't expect to move into this place without experiencing problems.
If we had just one word to describe our housing experience at Hague Towers that would be DISGUSTING. We moved there last year in December because it was one of the few places that apply a fixed deposit fee (irrespective of credit score) and plus they waved one month lease...we've got an old apartment but things went quite well until last summer when a water leakage in the pipes within the wall has suddenly occurred, right behind our kitchen cabinets. Mold developed very fast, turning our kitchen into a cellar. We could not shut the windows and turn AC on otherwise it would be hard to breathe. We complained many times with the management, but all they did was applying killer spray without fixing the real issues that is still there. That is just ridiculous because the building is an old one (it was built in the late 60s) and our apartments is not the only one having such issues. Eventually, about three weeks ago we came back home and found the kitchen completely flooded and a huge water leakage from the bathroom upstairs from us that resulted in the ceiling falling down just in front of our eyes!! They moved us to a tiny studio on first floor which is literally haunted by roaches. This is another common problem, I've heard other residents complaining about it and the management doesn't provide a regular pest control intervention. We recommend to stay away from this place, you can find way better housing for the same price.
I would have given 4 stars if they had old management. But, I am giving only one for view and walkability with new management. Cons : Building is old, water leaking from ceilings during storms, small bathrooms, Wobbly toilets, no vent fan in bathroom. Small kitchen with old cabinets. Smoking friendly, you wake up with cigarette smell in your house even though you don't smoke. No vent fan so smell stays in bathrooms. We had to close vent to avoid smell, but you still get it from kitchen, New management is worse, They never pick up phone. I moved out apartment last month, and trying to reach leasing office for my deposit return, I left message for 5 times, no call back. Still waiting !!! No email return as well. They started new security system recently , where we need to use electronic knob. I feel so bad for handicap people , this apartment has many senior citizen. They started new system without thinking about handicap access. Front desk will see them struggling for door, but never get up and help. If you forget your knob in apartment then it will take forever for them to open door. Even though they can see you through glass door and they know that you leave there.
I've lived here a year and this place has some faults, and some goods. The appliances are outdated, walls boring and white, there is always something going on with the elevators and it can be a hassle moving any kind of furniture if you don't reserve the freight elevator. It is on the edge of Ghent so it is in a good area. The hospital is nearby, so are the many shops bars and restaurants in ghent. It has a nice pool, hot tub and sauna on the top floor. All the utilities are included in the rent so that is one less thing you have to worry about. The people here are nice and quiet. The staff is helpful and kind. Overall a pretty good place.
