Northwest Manchester is a neighborhood spanning the area to the west of the Merrimack River about five miles from the city’s center. The majority of Northwest Manchester is filled with wooded lands hiding manicured neighborhoods and luxurious homes. Rental options are mostly clustered along the eastern border of town, closest to Interstate 293. The eastern border of town also provides several opportunities for outdoor recreation through the parks and trails along the river. A few shopping and dining choices are located off the interstate, but more entertainment options are located just south of town in the downtown district.

We’ve lived here for a little over a year and have had minimal complaints. Most of the staff is quite friendly, maintenance is timely though occasionally backups happen. They try to take care of the most important issues first, which unavoidably puts non emergent issues on a delay. Our neighbors are all pretty great except one but that’s the joy of apartment living. They do a good job at making the area feel safe and not like stereotypical Manchester.

We had a hard time finding a place that met our needs and would allow us to have our two 50lb dogs, so it was a relief when we found Halstead had both what we wanted in an apartment (good sq footage, in unit laundry and dishwasher, good closet sizing) and would allow us to have our dogs! Application and approval process was easy and painless, and Michael at the leasing office was super friendly and knowledgeable about the apartments and patiently talked over all the options available and helped us find an apartment that met our needs.

They have blk mold on the basement and haven’t fixed it for 2+ years dispute 3 service requests. Sense it got sold they The properties upkeep has went down dramatically. There’s trash everywhere. The carpet in the hallway disgusting you feel dirty, even bringing your shoes into the apartment after walking down them. The rent goes up every year a ridiculous amount for the same apartment that has never been touched since the 80s, they have multiple fires since I have lived there and appeared five years. And all the apartments have sprinklers.

Property is disgusting. Dog poop everywhere, dog bag stations frequently empty. My dog contracted a severe intestinal bacteria nearly killing her from the gross dog park. People speed constantly and recklessly. The light pole in front of our building has been laying on the ground with the wires exposed for nearly two weeks now. There is trash all over the property. The basketball court fencing has been down for two weeks. Maintenance requests are half completed. The "renovated" units are a joke, the carpet is horrible, the drawers are shoddily nailed together. The landscaping is now done by one guy for the whole property so your grass may get cut once a month and no other landscaping is done other than at the clubhouse and show units. The place is not a luxury neighborhood and has no right charging what it does. I wonder where all that rent is going because it is not into the property.

Over priced for what they have to offer. Rent has gone up over $1000 in the last two years. And for some reason since we’ve lived here, five years, three different managements have bought out the place. And each one raise the prices more and add more stipulations. Never rented from a place that charges you so high plus it makes you pay for everything except trash. And they don’t have good lease plans. It’s either a 12 month lease or month-to-month. That’s 500 more than your base rent. Which makes it hard to really find another place an exit. Maintenance used to be on top of things here. But on average it takes 2 to 3 weeks to fix a non-emergency issue. One positive they have struggled with having good staff over the last few years. But this last year they’ve gotten some good help in the office and they do do their best to help and r kind. Still hard to reach them by phone but if you make time to go in person and wait a little, you’ll get a hold of them.
Besides the amount of cigarette smoke that comes seeping through my windows from neighbors (I have bad asthma), I love the spaciousness of the apartment and how quiet everyone is at night. Lived here 6 months and considering renewing in the spring!

Honestly the complaints we had are no different than any other rental property, but Halstead does a good job at keeping them under check. Watch the lease agreements as they are long and confusing and wordy which caused issues as we were trying to move out. The amenities upgrade that they recently did very much improved the usability of the common spaces in total. Though I expect the price will increase from this. We've heard bad stories from other neighbors but all issues we had were fixed in a timely manner. If the price makes sense to you then go for it.

Between the amenities and different events hosted there is always something to do! There is such a wide variety of amenities that make this place so unique. We are new to the state and couldn’t imagine renting somewhere that didn’t provide the nice community you get here. Every question we had during the application process was answered, as first time renters things were explained to us in detail and we had help every step of the way. Location is amazing as well being close to things like Walmart, market basket and petco are a huge plus. Overall we’ve never had a single issue!

I was very disappointed. I showed up with my friend at my appt time only to find out that it was booked in error! I never got the tour however Haley was helpful and showed me how to access the application online. I had a few questions and called them at least 10 times!! No one answered the phone! Very frustrating!

My husband and I have lived here for 4 years with our two young children and we absolutely LOVE it here. Since day one, management has been so helpful and always go above and beyond for whatever we may need assistance with. We have developed an amazing bond with each and every one in the management office. We are so grateful for them! Maintenance is always incredibly fast at responding to whatever needs to be fixed or looked at. They too, always go above and beyond. We live in an updated corner unit and it fits our family perfectly. We feel so at home here! The property itself is absolutely gorgeous. The grounds are always kept beautifully and in the Spring/Summer, you can find flowers all over the property and the grass is always kept nice and neat. We especially love the gorgeous pool here!! I always recommend Halstead Countryside to anyone I know who may be looking in the Manchester area because I know they will love it here! We are looking forward to our future years here and feel right at home. This place will always hold a special place in our hearts.

The office could care less about problems in their units. I have had numerous complaints gone completely un noticed... dogs barking @ all hours... police arresting ppl all the time. This place is terrible as far as the people managing. And instead of responding here you can send me an email please since this place won't respond to a complaint. Apt 225.. you know...

Management refuses to deal with renters who trash the outside. After numerous complaints to the leasing office by myself and other renters. I was told to leave the office. I feel unsafe with my 2 year old even walking outside.

I lived here 5 years ago and loved it! The office folks were personable and professional as were the maintenance crew! The maintenance folks were prompt and thorough in answering requests and very pleasant. I enjoyed the floor plan but would not suggest living right next door to the laundry room. Tenants would let the laundry room door slam without consideration for those living nearby. The grounds were always well kept and snow removal quick and professional. As I've said, I'd move back if it is the same! ILA B. ??????
I lived there for10 years. I would have recommended it As time passed and management changed so did the quality of living. They start adding on costs that you didn't originally intend to pay. Storage cost as well as imposing mandatory rental insurance fees. If you want to pay online you are charged ridiculous credit card fees. They charge you money just to buy a laundry card that you have to purchase if you want to do laundry. That's on top of the normal amount that you would use to operate washer and dryer. There are frequent burglaries of the storage units that you pay stra for and cars vandalized frequently. A dog park which was a nice idea but it is filled with dog feces. Even if you are like me and you aren't nit picky and can see some good still passed these things then you better hope that you don't lose any family members or have an injury at work bc even after 10 years of renting from them once you are late on rent and when I say late I mean you are able to pay it no later then 30 days from when it was originally due. You will not be evicted bc legally you can't be bc you found a way to fix it in time before they can bring u to court however you will be denied the privilege to renew your lease. It won't matter that you found a way to pay even tho your mom just died and you had to help her in her last few weeks of life. So needed was a little time until you made it up and paid your rent. Bc once every new tenant around you surpasses u and pays more in rent then you bc every year cost of living increases. New rent for new tenants gets higher then the amount they can legally increase u for renewing a yearly lease, that's when they find some loop hole to get you out. My advise, you can get townhomes right down the street with similar country feel for the same price as well as similar apt villages close by that will treat you much better and value the fact that you like to consider your apt your happy home and would like to provide stability for your child/ren. Management that is understanding to the fact that sometimes life happens isn't too much to ask. I'm not saying that you should be allowed to just not pay rent or be irresponsible but in the event of having an extreme circumstance mess you up financially for a few weeks definitely not more then a month. Have that happen 3 times in the span of 10 years paying what you owe before ever being brought to court, then I don't think it's much to ask for some humanunderstanding.
Living at countryside village is an overall enjoyable experience. Grounds are always well kept and clean by landscapers. Pond at enter acne attracts family of geese every spring who stay through summer months. Community is quiet for the most part with low crime. Management is average, most are pleasant and maintenance team is always friendly and happy to help. Amnenities are abundant; pool, gym, laundry, sauna, media room, indoor jacuzzi, community grills. Units have balconies which are nice and pet friendly. Only complaint is outdated appliances which don't get upgraded with rising rent.
My wife and I rent a 2 bedroom apartment. It is good for the price. We compared many apartments in the area and finally came to the conclusion that Countryside Village is where we wanted to live. The apartment was almost brand new when we moved in. There was new carpet and a fresh coat of paint. The people in the office are always courteous. They have many amenities here. The one amenity that I must have is a gym and they have that here. Unfortunately, the upkeep is almost non-existent. Some machines are broken or the cable sheaths are coming off. This is unsafe. There is a lack of variety of barbell weights. Also there are hardly any supplies to clean the equipment. Lately there has been none. It forces me to make a decision of whether to move to another complex that does not have a gym and pay for a gym membership. Furthermore, rent keeps increasing. We had our rent increased 4%. It is starting to be more difficult to stay at an apartment if they increase the rent for the people the are staying and currently living in the complex.
Quite honestly, I don't love my apartment. That being said, I don't hate my apartment. Our space is adequate (I'm in a 2 bedroom) but the layout leaves much to be desired. The dining room is smaller once you see a table in it because the door impedes on the space (easy fix: get a smaller table - did that!). The living room is massive but too big because it's nearly cavernous and echos when we don't have enough furniture in it - it's a good problem to have, though! The kitchen is average, but I'm a baker and the kitchen counters are inadequate for baking. I make it work, though! The major woes I have about my apartment and complex revolve around safety mostly. They only put in a fire extinguisher on the second floor when a new tenant moved in (not when I filed complaints). The lights will blow out in the parking lot or open hallways and it takes at least a week for them to be fixed - Pretty scary when I work late nights and it's dark moving around the parking lot and building. The maintenance staff/cleaning staff also gives me an uneasy feeling that I can't put my finger on. I'm not saying they're bad people (I don't know them personally) but I can tell you that I won't have things fixed unless my fiance is here. The things I really like about the apartment are that they made sure we had new carpets when we first moved in, they remember our faces (sometimes our dogs too), and they're not an unkind staff to interact with. I just wish the upkeep of everything was on par with the care of the people who work for the company.
