Hello, thank you for your kind words and this wonderful review!
Love living here. The only thing missing is an outdoor space to sit where we can barbecue. Would greatly benefit from some dedicated outdoor space!

Nice building. Needs cleaner rugs in the building. At least shampooed. 7 years I have lived here and not once cleaned. Stained with animal urine. Does not look presentable when entering the apt or having company over. The white doors by mail room and side entrance are filthy need to be bleached. Windows are filthy. Trash area by the mail room smells terrible in the summer. Dog policy used to be a max weight of 35 lbs for a pet. Now it is any dog is allowed in the apt complex, trained , not trained , and aggressive. Dog owners can?t even control their animals on a leash and jump on you as you walk by in a hallway. The office staff is very nice, kind, available, and considerate. The maintenance team is amazing always friendly and prompt to the matter. I love my apt set up, space, and feel safe living here which is a plus to keep me as a tennant. I?ve already addressed these issues in previous survey not hopeful for any changes. No need to follow up with any replies. Thank you.

Thank you again for taking the time to let us know how we did. We hope you have a great day!
It?s very nice and very convenient if you have dogs. Neighbors are all really friendly. A little more expensive than what I would like to pay for a 1 bedroom apartment and slightly outdated for the price but the amenities and team here make it all worth it

Hi, your wonderful feedback and rating mean a lot to us.
Staff is excellent across the board. Apartments are beautiful and homey, if a little overpriced. Could use more options for entertaining kids. Still a great community.

I have been welcomed here as a future resident, when I dropped in on an unscheduled day off work requesting a tour of any currently available units. My request was for more exposed brick as per the necessary mill loft vibe, and I got wrapped in a cozy corner of vintage masonry. An annoying smoke detector battery chirp got silenced by the ultra responsive maintenance staff within one hour and I had positive experiences both before and after that incident. I am fortunate to drive a compact hatchback sedan because the parking lines are extremely stern so big SUV drivers should be prepared. There?s a lot of history both staged in common areas and portrayed on walls to interest the passer by and I?ve reserved the conference room for a Friday night low key get together and had fun playing billiards and hanging out. The pet friendly policy is a bonus and visitors who cannot drive are easily transported practically to your front door. The lot is very well lit if not a little too bright and I?ve felt safe. Be prepared to make your auditory best friend the trains. The majority of them do not sound their whistles, and you can easily drown it out by equipping a white noise machine in the bedroom. I receive 5G Verizon cell service which is cool because I hotspot my LG television and currently don?t have a cable broadband bill each month. The appliances are old, but they are delivered in very good condition. The lease is ten months which also works for my life.

This is a great property to live at. Safe secure clean and very pleasant and knowledgeable staff
Great complex, modern amenities and great staff. We are new here but thrilled with our decision to move to Hamel Mill Lofts.
Such unique and spacious apartments. I like the security doors, everyone I?ve met who lives here is very nice, and the staff is always helpful and also super nice.
Derek and Erin are awesome! From the tour of the community to making sure my mailbox key worked, I?d give them 5 stars alone for their friendliness and customer service. So far, I?m enjoying calling Hamel Mill Lofts home.

Hi there, thank you for taking the time to leave a review for us at Hamel Mill Lofts. We're happy we could meet your expectations!
Overall, thanks to all the staff, and the excellent amenities, my living experience at Hamel Mill lofts has been very pleasant for the 9 plus years that I've lived here.
Cabinet doors are of poor quality. Noise insulation is insufficient. Management, maintenance and neighbors, however, are wonderful.
In the very hectic 2021 apartment rental climate, I was easily able to secure a unit for my needs. The 10 month lease could be interpreted as lucky too because it will free me up to figure out my next housing without having to commit to a one year or over contract.
Living in a building built before the turn of the last century, my guess about 1886, on the ninth floor in a unit with a dozen windows and 12+ foot ceilings is really really cool. The management company, office staff, and maintenance are top-notch bar none. You would be remiss not to take up an opportunity to live in such a wonderful home.
The staff and apartments are great just a little to pricey for me in these times.
Staff and residents very friendly and accommodating. Very comfortable living here .
Moved in a few months ago and it's been great so far.
A comforting and modern apartment complex and dog friendly which is great.
Very pet friendly and amazing location!
I have lived here for almost 12 years, I'm Happy and that's what counts.
This complex looks beautiful at first, but it starts to fade when you realize its shortcomings. There are trash chutes in the hallways but people just leave the trash on the floor despite it being against your lease. People smoke right next to the building even though that too is against the lease policies. If you live in the Essex building there are a set of at least 6 stairs you have to go down after you get off the Tilton elevators. This defeats the purpose of having a moving elevator in the first place, because then you still have to get everything down a set of stairs. It also makes it so that if the Essex elevator goes out you are stuck going back up those stairs. Unless you have professional movers it's near impossible to move furniture yourself, whereas without the stairs there it would be fine. The walk from the Essex building is quite far from the parking lot. It took me at least 5-7 extra minutes each morning to get from my apartment to my car, which I didn't realize when touring/signing my lease. People also literally make up their own parking spots and don't understand how to park between lines. Management says they will crack down on this but that requires them to leave their offices, so they don't do anything about it, despite it being an ongoing problem. The office staff are nice but management/staff seems to change out often. The leasing agent, Derek, is very nice but very young, and his lack of experience shows in his lack of attention to details. Be aware of this when working with him; you'll have to remind him multiple times to do things that he said he would. For the high cost of rent, even for 1 bedrooms, I expected more, but I do recommend it for people willing to put up with typical apartment complex issues (people having a lack of respect for others/their surrounding areas).
We literally just moved in this week so we don't have a whole lot to review. Overall, the apartments are beautiful - from the grounds to the common areas to the apartments themselves. The buildings are located right in the heart of downtown but there is on-sight parking for each apartment. The grounds are small but very well maintained. The common areas are beautiful. There is a living area - with sofas, chairs and a TV. There is an office conference room that can be rented, a pool table and game area and even a movie room. Our apartment is beautiful but not prepared the way we were promised. When we viewed the apartment, we were told that the carpet would be cleaned (there was a stain), a built-in shelf in the bedroom would be repaired (it was broken) and the cabinet faces would be cleaned up and re-stained (there is a lot of wear near the handles) - none of this was done. I've emailed the apartment manager but haven't had time to get down to the office to request that this is done. I'm hoping he'll be helpful
Worst place I've ever lived in my life. Management can't and won't do their jobs, the place is overpriced, cars are constantly vandalized and the office does nothing, and office workers send threatening and harassing notices without merit. Why no one else reviews this place publicly online? The office sent an email to residents asking us not to, to come to them instead so complaints can fall on deaf ears.
