Property Ratings at Halton Park
The safety in this neighborhood is nonexistent. From personal experience, I got my catalytic converter stolen in the middle of the night, I saw two guys get into a knife fight and one of them stole the others car, Kids were shooting off fireworks at 2 am, and a guy was running away from the police through the neighborhood. I never felt safe being outside by myself. If you have kids, look elsewhere

there's roaches everywhere in the apartment no matter how much you spray
I lived in this apartment complex for 3 years and it was the worst 3 years of my life. I wanted to move out the second month after moving there and I only stayed because it was too expensive to move and at that point I had invested so much money into the tons of pointless fees they expect you to pay. The leasing office staff was constantly changing and no matter who worked there, they were always unhelpful and extremely rude. It seemed as if the staff went out of their way to make my time there more miserable. They also charged fees on top of fees, usually without explanation. I was charged for things I shouldn't have been charged for multiple times and had to contact the leasing office to have the charges removed. The apartment itself is overpriced but overall not that bad, but you would have to pay me to live there again with that staff. Please don't make the same mistake I made!
If I could give the place zero stars, I would. This apartment complex is a complete rip off and they will nickel and dime you for everything. - We have had problems with roaches, flies, bees, and spiders. They claim to spray but the bugs just keep on coming. - The walls are very thin, meaning you can hear all of your neighbors business and they can hear yours. - The floors creak no matter where you walk. -The leasing staff is incredibly inconsiderate and rude. They speak to you like you do not matter and are incredibly unfriendly and unwelcoming. If you bring up a question to them, they act as if you are stupid. They never answer the phone. If you want any help with anything, forget it. - In order to use the movie theater it is a $50 security deposit and you have to make a reservation. Not free. - They claim to have an involved couple working on community events, but they don't contact you even if you try reaching out to come to events. - If you do not give a 60 day notice that you are moving out, even if your lease is up, they will force you to pay for additional rent that you did not agree to upon signing the contract. Do NOT live here if you want to be treated with respect.
1.) Some of the kids at this complex are terrible. They would harass me to the point that I simply began avoiding them. I would actually sit in my car as they were walking home from the bus and wait for them to pass through my building before I went inside. They would bounce balls against the exterior walls of my apartment. They would ring the doorbell and run away. Finally, in the last month of me residing there one of them decided to spit on my door. This was the breaking point for me. I emailed the complex explaining everything I had experienced and never once did anyone reach out to me. They did, however, submit a maintenance request to clean my door (which never actually happened) so I know for a fact they received my email. 2.) When I set up automatic payments for my rent & utilities I selected that these automated payments end at the conclusion of my lease. The month prior to my lease ending I received an automated email which gave me my prorated balance for my final month - this email was generated through the same system that managed my automated payments. I made the incorrect assumption that it would automatically withdraw my prorated amount of ~$100 and not an entire month's rent & utilities totaling over $1000. I felt this was a fair assumption given the document I was emailed with my prorated balance was through the same system my automated payments were processed through. When I realized the error (the morning I was leaving for vacation out of the country) I started making phone calls. I spoke with a receptionist who really wasn't able to assist with the matter (understandably so) but I was assured I could speak with the manager when she came in or the assistant manager would relay the message and then update me once she knew something. Not once, to this day (and it's been four weeks since they took my money), have I actually been able to speak to the manager. Eventually, five days after over $1000 was taken from my bank account in error, I did receive an email saying the refunded money would be mailed to my forwarding address. It has been exactly four weeks since they took the money from my bank account and I still have not received any refund. I have sent five emails in the last nine days with no response whatsoever. Any potential residents should be aware of this because this could happen to anyone. When I initially spoke to the receptionist she told me it had happened to another person just a few days prior.
I have been here for a little over a month. In that time the staff has lied to me, ignored me, been rude to me, and filed again me after just 3 weeks, so they have also hurt my credit. The apartments are nice and clean, but the staff has made my life a nightmare since moving in here. If you have other option, as I am sure you do in a place this big, take them.
I am so excited about my move. I cant wait! Luz is the best property manager ever.
I lived here over a year ago and was not pleased ever. There was constantly a bug problem in our apartment regardless of what we sprayed or the exterminator sprayed. My car was SHOT AT! It had a bullet hole in the hood that I was responsible for fixing. There was always a noise problem, people yelling above us, yelling in the parking lot. People would shoot fireworks in the parking lot and would never get in trouble. I am a college student and can take noise and things like that but this was ridiculous. I do not recommend it.
Great apartment community for students. Apartments are big and the kitchens are really nice
Everyone in the office is very sweet and attentive to the residents' needs. Carmela is so amazing! She has been there for all of our lease and apartment needs!
