Norristown is a suburban community that really is close to everything: Philadelphia is only about 45 minutes away by car, and SEPTA rail service is available from multiple stations around town. In addition to the convenient proximity to the big city, Valley Forge National Historic Park and King of Prussia Mall are practically right next door.
Closer to home, Main Street and Marshall Street are home to several locally-owned shops and restaurants in an attractive, walkable setting, with many historic buildings nearby as well. Attractions such as Elmwood Park Zoo and large parks like Norristown Farm give residents plenty of opportunities to enjoy time outdoors, right in their own backyard.

Property Ratings at Hamilton Hall
Place is infested with roaches and they pretend it’s not.

Please call me at 215-887-8400 when you have a moment. Thank you. ~ Paul McGowan, Regional Manager
Let me just say all those raving reviews were years ago. I’m writing this review as of 2020. This place has gone down hill fast! When we first moved in it was a nonsmoking facility, now it’s smoking allowed all because the previous manager was a smoker (there is also no sprinkler system so if a fire starts...)! The parking is a first come first serve basis with only one car per apartment, but who ever follows those rules?! One of the elevators drops you at random for a terrifying thrill ride about a floor or just traps you (and no it’s still not fixed)! The rent increases a lot every year. The tenants are not friendly at all. It’s not kid friendly in the slightest with all the safety hazards, loud neighbors, weed smell, cigarette smoke, need I go on? There’s an intercom at the front door but you can forget about using that. We have lived here for two years and we still haven’t been added on! Even the older tenants that used to live here are all moving out because they can no longer afford rent and they say this place has gone down hill! Do not move here!!!!

Thanks for the kind words! We hope that you continue enjoying your stay for many years to come. ~ Hamilton Hall Management Team
I lived at Hamilton Hall in '05-'06 and then moved out of state for a number of years. Came back to PA ,didn't even look at other apartments, went straight to HH. Was delighted to meet up with Karen the building mngr. -who's awesome by the way and to be able to rent a unit again. The building is great! Very reasonable rents, off street parking, laundry, storage, etc etc. Staff and maintenance are friendly and helpful. I'd recommend living here to anyone.
I love my apartment, i am a college student looking to build some responsibility and it is definitely a struggle to keep up with the rent each month. I room with one of my great friends. I love it!!
Been here for 3 years they dont want to fix the appt .one way in n 1 way out couldnt afford another appt was homeless till this one
I got the keys to my apartment September 10, 2014. The apartment has brand new everything because, the previous tenant lived in this apartment for 12 years. So, management does update the apartments. Whenever I needed something fixed, which is not often, I was done the same day or the next day. This really depends on the time of day you notify them of a problem. The whole property is kept clean. The office manager Karen is a delight. Karen answers your questions. If she is busy showing an apartment or has people in her office, she will ask if it is an emergency. If it is not, Karen will ask if she can get back to you when she is finished with the people in her office. And she does get back to you. My husband and I are very grateful to be living in Hamilton Hall Apartments.
If you enjoy bed bugs, roaches, and mice, please come here! Otherwise Don't Come Here! Many have moved in recent months due to the bug problem and several have expressed moving as soon as they are able. The whole building needs to be treated yet only a few apartments are getting the treatment. Residents are charged nearly $500 for the treatment even though they most likely had no part in the origination of the bed bug problem. If the adjoining apartments are not also treated at the same time, the bugs just move next door and return. It is a vicious cycle with no end in sight.
This place is a decent price I found online. It was a pretty huge mistake and I regret it. There are small roach like insect which I found out were bed bugs on the walls. I've trapped a total of 3 mice; there are more as my rice bags keep getting chewed open. The apartment is super loud cause it's on Main st. There you go, loud single pane windows, bed bugs and mice.
I've lived at Hamilton Hall for over four years, and I'm overall pleased with my apartment and the building. (It's by far the best apartment building in Norristown--no contest.) The quiet is one of the best things--I can barely hear my neighbors above, if ever, and never from below me or to the sides. (Cement floors'll do that!) Peace and quiet are important to me, since I moved here from a beautiful but incredibly loud old Victorian house, where people were partying all night and obviously clomping around in horseshoes 24/7. Hamilton Hall is peaceful, even when your neighbors ARE throwing a party. Overall it's a nice building, and the downstairs lobby renovation looks very nice. My only complaint is that the building has somewhat frequent water problems where they have to shut down the water unexpectedly. I'd like to ask, "What's up with that?" but the maintenance people are working too hard to fix it...which is another good thing. Maintenance issues get treated quickly. Anyway, I'd definitely recommend Hamilton Hall. It's not the most luxurious place, but it's luxurious enough for people who want a brightly lit, clean, and quiet apartment where you can live like a grownup.
The utilities are around $200 a month. That's with out A/C or Heat. If I new I would not of rented for there. With out heat the rent is more like $1100 a month. :( The point is I really wish I had known. I really would of not rented there.
I lived here for 6 months and I would not recommend it to my friends and family members. Soon after moving in, I realized that they have a lot of insects(looking like small cockroaches). They also do things without putting up notifications( an example is turning off the water for about 2-3 hours) The heat doesn't work, even though I turned it to 90 degree if feels like 30 degree in the apartment during the winter time. And even though I complain nothing changed.

those bugs aint roaches, theyre bed bugs
Hamilton Hall Apartments offer the best value for your money. Many amenities including secure building, bus stops on the corner of Hamilton and Main Streets, across the street from three drug stores, lundry facilities onsight, balcony with every apartment, etc.
I was very happy to find an apartment at Hamilton Hall. Having 2 cats, I was very limited in choices. This building is immaculate with no lingering smell. I met people who have resided there for 20 and 30 years. So this told me they were very satisfied. I will be moving there in a couple of weeks and I am looking forward to it. By the way, a nice size storage bin is provided for each tenant.
