Property Ratings at Hampshire Park
Since new management took over late 2023 things have improved. The office staff is friendly and knowledgeable and follow through is finally a thing. The maintenance staff Angelo, Javon and Kyle are friendly, very knowledgeable and take pride in their work. Being an older property there are going to be some issues related to that, however it's nice to finally have a team in place that cares about our concerns and takes them seriously. The apartments are big in area and I feel very safe here. Would definitely recommend this property for individuals of any age from young adults to retired folks, or families with children. Great location with tons of restaurants and shopping located within 5 to 25 minutes of the property.

I was never shown my actual apartment prior to move in. The apparent we were shown was in a different building, was more new and slightly bigger than my actual apartment. We were told there weren’t any apparents available to be shown in the building that would be ours but that the one we were looking at would be exactly the same and the only diffence was that it would be the building next door and it would be a first floor apartment. The building that my apartment is in has a smell like they tried to cover up cigarette smoke, it’s dull, and the carpets are disgusting. There are ants EVERYWHERE. However, my apartment does have new carpet and new flooring that was installed terribly. My lease was supposed to be signed a week before move in and it wasn’t signed until the night before we moved in. I was never given exactly how much I would be paying at move in so when we got there and didn’t have the check ready the lady in the office was a bit upset, however I had went in the day before to ask about the lease and price and all they said was they would call me back and the never did. The ladies in the office never know what they are doing, one didn’t even know that the buildings had back enterances. We were given some papers to fill out and bring back to the office regarding the condition of the apartment. We filled them out and tried to turn them in, we’ve gone every day this week and the office has been closed. It says they open from 10-6, I’ve gone at around 11 and 5 and every time I go it is closed. We’ve only been here for a week and already can’t wait to move out. Such unprofessional service, one of the many reasons why we will not be renewing our lease when time comes.

This place is going downhill rapidly. There is no pool needs repairs but still paying high rent. I left after being here 5yrs. They give u a decent quote but the time to renew they raise it up and every year after. The grounds need help but owner will not pay even though they have raised rents anywhere from 60-100. This place is terrible. Don't go their. Give you this introduction but once u get here you'll see for yourself. People moving out all the time. Save your self the frustration go elsewher

Hi, Thank you for your honest review, although it is not what we'd like to hear, it helps us identify where we need to do better. Your feedback is invaluable to us as we work to make Hampshire Park a better place to live. Thanks for taking the time to contact us.
Maintenance has tried to repair our toilet 3 times, and has been notified that it still leaks with no response from office or maintenance. Ants are now all over along with the sand that they're pulling up from under the toilet, and linoleum is now lifting from the floor due to repeated water leaks from the toilet. NO COLD WATER IN BUILDING, INCLUDING WASHING MACHINES IN LAUNDRY ROOM, which ruined my family's clothes. I've also had clothes STOLEN from their laundry room, too. They claim the reason for no cold water is because pipes are located too close together. However, cold water worked fine when I first moved in 2 years ago. Kitchen sink also backs up, and maintenance still refuses to fix any issues. Office doesn't return phone calls, as they NEVER answer their phones, either. TERRIBLE MANAGEMEMT AND MAINTENANCE!!! Ever since they switched management companies and are now run by TRICAP, this place has become terrible, almost uninhabitable!!!

My move in experience was great! The office went above and beyond to make sure I had everything I needed and that my needs were being met. I worked with Dawn thigh the whole process and she was absolutely delightful! Always available when I needed her and got things done quickly. She was a big help!

Hello , I am going to give my opinion of Hampshire Park Apartments in Hobart Indiana. I moved in June 2010 and my rent was $826. My apartment has old carpeting and numerous scratches on some of the doors and this was pointed ot to management. The carpet has a cigarette burn and I also reported this to management PRIOR to my family moving in. Fast forward to August 2015 my rent increases EVERY year and now a new company owns the complex. My rent is now $922 for a 2 bedroom ,1 bath apartment, Sometimes I can not find a parking spot close to my building which is horrible when you have groceries and or items. I do love the new management though , so I can at least say that they have been understanding in my late rent payments. My lease usually expires in June , but I received my lease renewal at the end of May , which meant that I had no time to get another apartment, so now I am stuck paying for an apartmrnt that I can longer afford. The new company that took over did an AMAZING job remodeling the EXTERIOR of the complex , but my apartment still has the same dingy carpet (which I have to have cleaned 4 times a year) and I now have to have renter's insurance. I understand the purpose of the renter's insurance , but I was already struggling with the increase in my rent and now they have forced me to add on another bill to my already heavy debt load. If I would have advanced notice of the higher than normal rent increase and now the requirement of renter's insurance I would have started searching for a new apartment in March. Also you have to pay to use the washers and dryers which usually comes to about $90 per month . There are a few tenants in my building that monopolize the 4 washers and dryers, so just be prepared to have to wait four those people to finish (they usually wash for 8-9 hours). I usually will end up driving to the laundromat because like I said they'll wash the ENTIRE day. I like that it is quite and safe here, but the Cons are now out weighing the Pros. My advice is to check out the apartments in Porter county , but if you have to live in Hobart ,Indiana , Cressmore apartments are a better deal. There are 2 supermarkets less than 10 away, but as I stated previously, the RENT WILL INCREASE each and EVERYYEAR. I would not recommend this complex to ANYONE.
