Property Ratings at Hampton Center Apartments
Working with Heather was an absolute pleasure! she was incredibly responsive to any concerns I had, always kept me informed about the property, and went above and beyond to ensure a smooth rental experience. Highly recommend!!
I’m going on year two of being a tenant at Hampton Center Apartments where they were the quickest and smoothest move in process in the whole wide world!! Ms. Heather ( property manager) was so welcoming , patient, helpful, and understanding through the whole process
Place is just outright gross as trash overflows constantly into the road and dirt... I said dirt because grass is few and far between as they really have no landscaping crew to tend to this mess of a property. (Auburn side)parking is never enforced nor available. Appears the maintenance crews give you some false hope within your first month of living after that good luck. Gutters have holes all through the complex and just create huge pools of muck water. Parking lots are so uneven the place floods and has giant puddles. All in all if you need a place to live sure why not but I won't renew my lease here and can't wait to leave.
Over the weekend, someone made an attempt to break into my house. Nobody has yet arrived to fix the door after they damaged the bottom of it! More than 4 days have passed after the incident. My property has not been checked out by anyone, and there has been no contact regarding the occurrence. I am a parent! How am I supposed to take care of my kids and get any sleep in these circumstances? Additionally, there are several water leaks! My ceiling and the wall have both given me problems, among other things. It appears that they only painted over several faults during renovations rather than addressing the root causes. Before someone came to remedy the problem, I complained for weeks! I wouldn't advise anyone to waste money with such poor management! If someone had taken the time to help me in my dire need, I wouldn't be this angry!
They have helped me moved in with less hassle! Ms. Heather (Manager) help a lot during the process and provided everything that I need it to move in! This place is close to everything that you need and have fun
The worst decision, we never have a secured parking, we have a resident stamp but there is never parking in the complex, the air filters are always dirty. The garbage can is always overflowing. It is not a good experience, only my husband and I are waiting for the end of the contract to leave.
Very good customer service and spacious apartments. Also in a safe area .
I've dealt with a constant issue of roaches here. The floor creaks every time my neighbors upstairs take any steps. My AC keeps going out. Maintenance is on point, but it doesn't make up for noisy neighbors and constant roaches.
We’ve been here for just under a year and I CANNOT WAIT to get out. People may talk about how nice it is, but I really have no idea what they are talking about. Firstly, if you are considering moving here, get an apartment on the Terrell side. The Auburn Lane side sucks. The ground are disgusting, constantly flooding which means mosquitos have a field day. No one leashes their dog in the common area, and no one picks up after their dogs. If you complain the office will send out warnings, but no one cares because there is no follow up on this side of the road. Out of sight, out of mind for the office. There is garbage everywhere and they refuse to place trash cans throughout the complex to help with the issue. The maintenance shed is the biggest eyesore I’ve ever seen with old stoves and boxes sitting out everywhere. After a windstorm, there was paneling from the buildings left on the ground for weeks after. The fire pit is rusted completely through so it’s unusable. There are kids who destroy the common area almost every day by tearing apart the “bar” that sits out there. Additionally, they run through the parking lot even when it’s dark out. Again, the office knows this, but doesn’t do anything beyond sending out emails and letters. The apartment itself wasn’t ready when we got here- the carpet was disgusting and was supposed to be replaced (per the carpet cleaning guy) but they didn’t have it done before we got here so we are stuck with stained carpet. The balcony has nails poking up out of it so I recommend caution there. There is mold growing around all our windows because of all the moisture that gets in due to bad window seals. The bathtub tiling was patched using spackle so it is literally disintegrating when we use it. I feel bad for the people who paid for the “upgraded” units that shell out hundreds more per month on rent and still have to deal with shitty grounds and shitty management. Oh, and don’t let the photos fool you- that is not the grounds for the Auburn Lane side. That is not the dog park for the Auburn Lane side. That is not the pool for the Auburn Lane side.
I rented a 2 bd 2 bath, when I moved in it rainded water came in through the top of the window in 1 bedroom. Drywall around it came off and exposed black mold. Master bath was leaking from the ceiling black mold there as well. When they did the repairs the mold was not addressed. Panted sinks and tubs pealed. 3 weeks to get a new refig. Carpets were cleaned but black stops kept coming up. Walls not patch correctly and windows and sliding glass doors not cleaned. I have pictures, I suggest you do the same when you move in, unless your unit was remodeled.
I’ve lived in plenty of apartments but none as peaceful and neat as this one. (I am renting the 2bd/2bth 1100 sq ft). It has spacious bedrooms w/ walk-in closets and 2 full baths! Everyone that has ever visited my place loves the layout. The complex isn’t new so the kitchens/bathrooms are outdated but everything was kept up. I’m on the end with no1 above my 2nd floor unit so I never hear any of my neighbors (not to say if you move here you won’t either) I just live at the end which is why I never hear them. Maintenance always comes in a decent time, and I’ve never had a problem w/ them. The leasing office (Felicia is my fav) are always nice and friendly and very professional. I live next to any everything including shopping, gas stations, my couldn’t school isn’t even too far. I’ve lived here 4 years so that says a lot and will probably sign another lease this summer! I hope this helps and I’m glad I didn’t go by the other reviews listed above bc I def read them before moving here but still decided to move here :)
During my apartment search in the Hampton Roads area, I have called and viewed several apartments interacting with lots of leasing agents but I haven't met a leasing agent like Nyemah. She was excellent! I can be very high maintenance on what I'm looking for and especially with feeling the pressures of needing to find a place to live as soon as possible and not having any luck, she was very understanding and did everything in her power to help me. Unfortunately I did not move to this apartment due to things outside of anyone's control but I wish I had. The property seems to be very up-kept, I loved all of the amenities, they are in a nice central location and the apartments of course were nice. Nyemah will work hard for you and do everything in her power. She has the perfect attitude and work ethnic for her position.
Apartment are advertised as luxury but are far from. The maintenance is slow and under qualified. Rent office staff is pleasant but not sincere when it comes to addressing issues. Apartment are very out dated and need severe renovations. Affordable prices but not worth the stress of constant repair. Stay only if you have too!!! Please shop around!!
The title says it all. The apartment in close to a growing city center, lots food choices( for a single person that's a plus), places to hang out at night, 3 movie theatres, and close enough to the highway for easy access but not for the road noise. The dog park is a great perk for my chihuahua and I. The grounds are well kept.
This apartment is good for military with a decent military discount. The office staff is always polite and ready to help, and it is usually a quite neighborhood. Definitely worth it for the price. The only negative thing I would say is that maintenance is a little slow when it comes to work requests. Sometimes it takes far too long and you have to keep checking in with them.
Property is very outdated. Advertised as luxury but it's not at all. DO NOT LET THE WEBSITE FOOL YOU. Maintenance is slow. If they repair they don't leave any notice. The dumpster is constantly broke and usually overloaded. Poor installation and windows allows for bug infestation. Gunshots at night are possible. If it's all you can afford go for it, but if u can spare a few more dollars take your business elsewhere.
These apartments are terribly. The worst place I have ever lived. First hand issues: We moved in to find that the AC does not work well, garbage disposal is cracked, oven fan does not work, only 3 outlets work properly, 4 light switched do not work for anything, and the balcony was trashed terribly to include; broken glass, cigarette butts, ashes, toenails and fingernails, nails, screws, and leaves. I took snap chats of it and downloaded the pictures which if I can will upload here. On top of all these repairs needing to be done it took 3 months to get them to fix 3 outlets and the garbage disposal. This isn't even half the outlets. Second Hand issues: Friends in the same apartments have had problems as well in safety manner; their motorcycle was stolen, picked up and taken, and car was broken into. Do not live here, you will regret it.
Hampton Center Apartments are in a great location only minutes away from Sentara hospital and the Peninsula Town Center. Everything you need is a short distance away and the management team is great.
