From its murals to its famous taquerias (where you’ll find New York’s best tacos), East Harlem is considered one of New York’s hottest neighborhoods. You might hear East Harlem referred to as Spanish Harlem or El Barrio, but no matter what you call this trendy neighborhood, it’s an ideal location that’s still affordable by Manhattan standards.
East Harlem is located on Manhattan’s Upper East Side, extending from 96th Street north to the Harlem River, and from 5th Avenue east to the river. The northern section of Central Park, which includes the Museum of the City of New York, Fort Clinton, the Conservatory Garden, and the Butterfly Gardens of Central Park, sits directly across 5th Avenue from the neighborhood. Getting around Manhattan is quick and easy from East Harlem – the subway runs through East Harlem and contains several stations extending from 96th Street to 126th Street.

Property Ratings at Hampton Court
Building has good sized apartments coupled with white glove doorman service. The Master BRs can fit king-sized beds and many have walk-in closets. There's a laundry room, gym and playroom to enjoy; and a beautiful garden! Plus the building jitney bus to the express subway lines cannot be beat. It's a great building for singles and families! Check it out!
My apartment is a small one bedroom in the North building facing the South Building with a garden between the 2 halves that constitute this building. My view is uninteresting as it looks out at the South buildings apartment windows. However it is quiet which is nice. I do not like the windows as they are of a sideways slide type for which there are no standard screens available, I therefor have the vent control in the air conditioner unit on frequently. Minor things like the kitchen cabinet doors do not open & fold all the way back & lay flat so one must be careful to avoid bumping ones head! The rent is more than I am comfortable paying as I am retired and living on a fixed income. The immediate neighborhood is dull & almost desolate. This fact necessitates the building to provide a free regular shuttle bus service to take its tenants to the nearest available normal main shopping streets with restaurants, etc., etc., south of E. 96th St. (There is otherwise only 1 nearby supermarket which is expensive because it lacks nearby competition.) The services the building provides for maintenance & repair, etc. plus on-site laundry are quite good.
