Stroll down Main Street in Downtown Tigard and you'll discover a picturesque shopping district nestled among the trees, defined by brick-paved walkways and period lighting. This is the heart of the city, a Norman Rockwell painting come to vivid life, complete with art walks, corner bistros, art galleries, and sidewalk cafes. Downtown Tigard is home to the only glass-blowing art studio in the region, Live Laugh Love Art, which also offers classes. Very walkable and bicycle-friendly, Downtown Tigard is the ideal setting to get out and enjoy a sunny day.
Tigard is named for the city's founder, Wilson Tigard, who arrived here in 1852. In 1880, he built a home for his son, John Tigard. This charming house museum, listed on the National Register of Historic Places, is located just south of Downtown Tigard at the corner of Canterbury Lane and SW 103rd Avenue.

Property Ratings at Hampton Ridge Apartments
I have lived here over three years. I do not recommend this place due to management. We had neighbors above us fighting, crashing into walls, and screaming past 12am for months. The Tigard police were here on many occassions to deal with the issue. Management never apologized to my wife and I. Lots of turnover in management while we've been here. During the 15-year exterior renovation over this summer 2022, the apartment management contracted the construction team with scope gap for electricity such that residents' electricity is used so the construction crew can run their equipment. This was never discussed or disclosed to residents. When I called the management and asked for a break on rent due to added expenses, and loud noise, they told me, everyone is having their apartment exteriors renovated, so deal with it. The breakers were tripping multiple times a day for weeks while the construction crews were working on surrounding units, but not ours, using our balcony's electrical outlet and the management told us that they "cannot coordinate with the construction crew" so cannot get us a date when we would be able to use our balcony again, which left my property innaccessible in a closet attached to the balcony for over two and a half weeks... My check bounced once after making a complaint regarding the way construction was being handled and now the management claims that it is "impossible" for my wife and I to pay through the online portal and we are required to pay through money-orders for "six months to a year, not really sure." They also sent a letter with a stamp saying "thinking of you" regarding the complaint I made about construction and they threatened to end our lease if we "interfere with management". All because I wanted to use the balcony again, or get a break on rent, due to my property and balcony being boarded off for two and half weeks and construction using our electricity that we pay for to work on surrounding units as well as loud noise from construction. I talked to the construction foreman and he told me that management told him all about my complaint, meaning they do talk with the construction team when it's convenient for them, but not when the residents request dates for when work will be completed. The management team sent us multiple notices during construction our unit would be entered sometime from 8am to 5pm over a week long period. This was very distressing and nearly impossible to plan for to keep our pet from escaping.

We lived at Hampton Ridge for six years and were content for the first five. The final year has been a nightmare. There has been a ton of turnover in management and the current manager is impressively terrible. If you can get ahold of her at all (an excessively difficult task), the manager is rude, unprofessional, and dismissive. You'd better hope you don't have any issues because if you do instead of help you'll be met by indifference and incompetence. The apartments themselves are okay; a decent amount of space for the money, nice landscaping, and a good location for commuting. The finishes are cheap as they come and aging. The countertops are white, porous, and impossible to clean. The windows are paper thin and do nothing for insulation from noise or weather. You'll be wiping mold spores off the window frame and being woken up by inconsiderate neighbors constantly.
I highly suggest turning away from this apartment complex. It is overpriced for outdated buildings, appliances and fixtures. Staff is incredibly disorganized and rude.
I have lived here for 1 1/2 years. The complex is very quiet, you can hear the birds every morning singing in the many trees that are on the grounds. The grounds are meticulously maintained and every maintenance request I have submitted has been responded to the very same day. The management is the best part, Ashley is THE best apartment manager, her communications are prompt and clear. I love living here and hope that I do not have to move due to rising rent costs because it truly is a great complex.
Lived here for a little over a year and loved it. They're nice apartments in a really convienitent location, easy access to freeways and right up the street from grocery stores. Plus the management is super amazing. We loved them so much we moved into their sister location up the street

Thank you so much for the very nice review! I am so glad that you choose to find a home with us in our other community!
We asked for a bottom-floor apartment. We asked for a washer and dryer in the unit. We asked for a parking space. We asked for storage. What we got was a spacious, well-laid out 2 bedroom apartment on the ground floor that my kids can jump around in without disturbing anyone. We got a dryer that was on it's way out and PROMPTLY replaced, along with the washer! We got a covered parking space that is affordable, close to our unit, and does not flood or puddle when it rains! We got a storage unit that is convenient and easy to access. We did not ask for a safe, quiet community, but we got it! We did not ask for a smoke-free community, but we got it! We did not ask for great service with a smile, family-like treatment, or awesome neighbors, but guess what? We got it!
Hampton Ridge offers decent living spaces for a *okay* price. The housing market is bananas in Portland right now but for the size (I have a 2 bedroom 2 bath) and amenities (dish washer, garbage disposer, in unit w/d) it is a fair price. It seems that there is a bit of a mold problem and there are a lot trees around so you'll see your fair share of insects. Nothing too overbearing though. The management is nice and available regularly. The pool was great over the hot summer and the grounds are pretty nice. I really like the location and neighborhood since there are lots of trees and not as many people ;-)
I am very glad I ended up getting an apartment here. It is a nice upscale apartment complex that is far beyond worth the price. it is located right by many stores and food places as well as the I5 and highway 217 for easy access anywhere in Portland. The staff is great and always very helpful. Any problems are fixed right after a report is filed. Overall a amazing place to live.
We moved in a couple months ago after driving across the country. The management was very accommodating when we arrived. The apartment was ready for move in with new carpets, counter tops in the kitchen, and paint. There were a few things we noticed during move in and everything was addressed within 2 days.
