Located just five miles north of the Mason-Dixon Line, Hanover is a York County borough brimming with historic charm. Incorporated in 1815, Hanover contains a bevy of beautifully preserved homes with rustic appeal in addition to numerous historical sites such as the Warehime-Myers Mansion and the Neas House.
A walkable downtown also contributes to Hanover’s vintage appeal, featuring rows of specialty shops, local restaurants, and various small businesses in well-preserved buildings. Additional shopping opportunities abound along Route 94, Eisenhower Drive, and throughout North Hanover Mall as well.
Hanover residents enjoy the area’s small-town feel as well as short driving distance to larger cities like Baltimore and Washington, DC. Codorus State Park also sits within close proximity to Hanover, offering plenty of options for outdoor recreation.

Property Ratings at Hanover Apartments
Would NOT recommend anyone to rent from this place solely based on how incredibly rude management was to my fiance when he called to get more information about renting. The first time he called this place, the first thing the guy said to him was "what are you and your fiance's jobs because you know these apartments are really expensive right?" ... Like we can't clearly see the price of what the rent is online...my fiancé was simply asking for a tour and more info and then the following day the guy calls him back and says "just wanted to let you know all units are filled, don't call us back again, we'll call you if something opens up" and hung up on him before my fiance could even say anything back. This makes me incredibly angry and sad as the guy never met my fiance before, only saw his name on the contact sheet....very disappointed.
******RENTER BEWARE*****Been renting for years from Hanover Apartments. We were told when we signed our lease that it was ok that we pay when we get our social security check the second Tuesday of the month. Lot's of tenants have been paying this way for years. NOW WE ALL HAVE TO VACATE because "Of the economy" they changed their mind and said that we haven't paid on time even though this has been allowed for years and everyone is up to date on their rent. Now a lot of senior citizens will be put on the streets. Your leasing agent at the time said it was ok, we would have to pay a late fee and our rent was never past the 14 of each month. Have tried everything to work with this company and the leasing agency even pay a month ahead of time but they will not help at all. Now we all have to find places to rent in an over priced market with little inventory.
When we sold our house so quickly we needed to rent an apartment until we had our house built . We chose to rent a apartment at Hanover Apartments . There was a few problems at first with some appliances and a hot water issue with the shower. When I called the office to inform them of these issues someone was sent immediately to check and take care of the issues . The appliances were immediately replaced with new ones . ( no hesitation at all ) . The hot water issue took a few different times to fix. But the company and owners the whole time we’re concerned with me being satisfied with the end results. My final thoughts are this if you chose to rent here and there are any issues or problems . Number one , they will have a maintenance person at your place immediately. Then the problem will be taken care of quickly and to your satisfaction . They also are very pet friendly and the maintenance people love pets too. They have pet walking areas and have a pet yard for doggies to exercise.
Very disappointed in the apartments. Huge issue with silverfish bugs. Laundry was very expensive and not enough washers/dryers per apartment building as well as needing updated washers/dryers as they literally ruined my clothing. The pictures are nothing like the apartments-very dark on the inside-even with your blinds open. Extremely expensive and the worst part was how bad the apartment smelled of cigarette smoke! That may not bother everyone but when I moved I had to re-launder all of my clothing due to the horrible smell (I even hung cedar in my closets in the apartment and it did not help). I had to spend a great deal of money on an air purifier which really didn't help either. The cigarette smoke was in the carpet and in the walls. If I had known someone had smoked to that excess I would never have rented the apartment. It was a miserable 3 months. The "patio" that the apartments on the first level had were frightening. I never stepped foot outside on the "patio" due to spiders and it felt like you were in a dungeon.
Great apartment complex. Apartments are nice and maintenance responds fairly quickly. Dumpsters nearby for trash. A good location in town near lots of amenities. Only thing is I wish they'd offer washer/dryer hook ups in apartments. Using a prepaid card at basement machines adds up quickly. Kitchen is small in our apartment but there is lots of closet space. Rent is pretty high and sadly goes up yearly so it makes you not want to stay too long but complex is nice and office workers are usually nice to deal with.
