Over the years, Costa Mesa has attracted many new residents, thanks to the relatively affordable cost of living and relaxed environment; families are drawn to the quiet neighborhoods and quality schools. Just a few blocks inland from Newport Beach, visitors and locals relish a laid-back coastal atmosphere in Costa Mesa, and a day by the ocean is only a short drive away from anywhere in town.
The extensive trails of Talbert Regional Park and the links of Costa Mesa Golf Course provide more opportunities to soak up the Southern California sunshine. The performing arts are well-represented in venues as diverse as the modest Costa Mesa Playhouse, the open-air Pacific Amphitheatre, and the magnificent Segerstrom Concert Hall. Easy access to the 405 makes it simple to reach anywhere in the LA area for work or leisure.

Property Manager at Harbor at Mesa Verde, Responded To This Review
Hello, Thank you so much for recommending Harbor at Mesa Verde. Were happy to hear the team provided excellent customer service. Best regards, Quay Neach 720-348-7620 WeCare@udr.com
Unless bug infestation, horrible (zero) customer service, sarcastic attitudes by the front office staff when approached with a question mixed with no desire to even attempt to pretend that they care about the residents (the list goes on and on) is what you’re looking for, then avoid this complex at all costs. My son has attempted several times to get someone to come treat the bugs in our place and not only has nothing been done but we don’t even get a response at all. We currently have spiders and termites (lots of them!) inside the apartment and have been told after many phone calls that it “will be handled” yet Nothing is ever done and they’re annoyed by any phone call asking for status. If you already reside here, good luck.
May 31 2019 At 11:14am i was informed that my amazon package was delivered to my apartment in building 6 And someone stole it from my door step this is the first time this ever happened to me and I know I’m not the only person this has happened to in the complex according to there udr site I definitely do not recommend living here anymore homeless digging through the trash in the middle of the night packages being stolen in daytime from your doorstep doesn’t seem safe at all
Lived here for 12 months and have got 2 more to go. Can't wait to move out of this place due to management which has turned over 3 times since signing the lease. Don't let the landscaping fool you - that's where all your $$$ will go to. Not to better the safety situation or to pay emergency maintenance workers to come during emergencies but to fix the landscaping and amenities where leasing office gives unsuspecting prospective tenants tours. Bums have slept in my parking spot, have parked their carts in my parking spot, yet received a newsletter from the leasing office to not let suspicious people follow us into the complex. How about using that landscaping money to put up a security gate or actually hire security to come by on a regular basis and actually do something about suspicious activity like obvious drug deals and people breaking glass by the pool area after hours?? We have lived here for 12 months without issue and now Blair the community manager seems to be nitpicking at our property, particularly our patio. When my roommate and I signed the lease we were told anything goes on the patio except for hanging tapestry and having charcoal grills. Easy right? NOT. Apparently we cannot have some outdoor furniture and accessories on the property we pay monthly for because it's up to the leasing office's "discretion" about whether something looks nice and can stay outside. Every time we try to resolve an issue of theirs we call several times and leave voicemails and no answer. This place is only good if you are looking to not have any freedom with personalizing your space and even then i think anyone can do better for the price this place is charging people. I could go on and on. Simply put, you have been warned.
I lived in this complex for a little over a year (13 month lease) and was very disappointed in the leasing office staff. If you use email to communicate like most of the modern world, do not expect a response from anyone within a week. Oh and do not expect to be called back either. My apartment was very nice and the maintenance staff was great but there is zero communication. On top of that, there is absolutely NOWHERE for guests to park. If you plan on using more than your one or two allotted spaces, DO NOT MOVE IN HERE. They do not monitor parking so residents who have multiple vehicles find a guest spot and leave their cars there for months on end. The parking on the street is full by 2pm and there are no other options unless you want to drive to a random neighborhood, park your car, then uber back to the complex (which I have had to do if anyone stays the night). Before I moved out, I also noticed they were painting over the guest spots to rent those spaces to other tenants so it is only going to get worse! I do not recommend this place. I have lived in 6 different complexes in orange county in 10 years and this was not a good experience.
When we moved in last summer we got a great deal on one of the older apartments they had. It had the older carpet, cabinets, and counters. We were told that they would be tearing out all of the carpet after we moved out so that if something happened (AKA our dog), then it wouldn't be a big deal. Fast forward to this week when we received our move out bill. Almost $700 to "fix the carpet" and that was supposedly the prorated amount. $175 to re-glaze the bathtub (which I thought was usually done anyway). $175 to repair the sub floor by the toilet because the toilet leaked from the bottom for awhile because the maintenance worker did not seal it correctly. Overall it was a nice place to live until we moved out. They tried to raise our rent $250 a month with no improvements included. When we moved out the bill was $1300 for all the repairs. That is just absolutely ridiculous considering they gutted the entire place and put in new flooring and everything else. All about the money that was pretty evident. And if you happen to move there watch where you walk because chances are you'll step in some dog crap that did not get cleaned up.
I lived at Harbor Mesa Verde from 5/16-6/17 and it was the WORST experience ever. The office had the most idiotic and unhelpful people Ive ever met. We had issues from the moment we moved in (me and three roommates), we had cold water for over a month when we moved in with no help from maintenance. After multiple calls and complaints we got our water fixed, only to break less than a year later before we moved out. There were several break-ins (including something stolen from our backyard) which made my roommates and I feel very unsafe there (my boyfriend stepped on a needle at one point walking to my apartment). Every time we ever had an issue it was near impossible to get a solid answer from the leasing office and they treated us like we were children. I would NEVER recommend this complex to anyone ever. Unsafe area, was not aware of their relationship with rehab center before we moved in, dirty apartment and people. DO NOT MOVE IN HERE EVER.
Too much theft at this property due to tweakers. Not gated so easy access. I have been robbed multiple times, I have cameras and locks everywhere and that doesn't stop the tweakers. Walls are really thin you can hear the neighbor walking thats how thin they are. Rent is too high for these apartments. Overall 1 star, save your time and money people!
I lived here for a year and the apartment was great! whenever something broke, you would call the office and a maintenance worker would be at your door within 30min. It was a clean simplistic apartment and works perfectly for everyone. Just don't pay rent late and make sure your rent went through electronically! You will have no idea until the late notice is on your door. No emails, no phone calls. So be on top of paying the housing community. But besides that it is overall a nice place to live.
I love this apartment the location is perfect the apartment so if it's just right the rooms are great washer and dryer inside I have a backyard that couldn't ask for a better apartment I really enjoy the apartment,
I would like to start of saying that i love my apartment. It has new appliances and i am surrounded by nice amenities. It is just getting to expensive. They raise the rent all of the time. I would like to continue living here, but dont think that i can afford it.
Its an ok apartment complex and they are trying to fix it up but they also alow very large dogs and you constantly hear barking and dog mess is rarely picked up enough.
Harbor at Mesa Verde is approximately 300 plus units and open community meaning no gates with assigned parking. The staff is very professional and the property is constantly being updated and maintained. The maintenance staff is very good and efficient. The studio apartments are like an open hotel room, no separation for kitchen and living space. The gym is very nice and provides all that you need. The community is close to many shopping and food places. Close to 405 freeway.
