Property Ratings at Harbor Pointe
They treat you like homeowners when you are leasing. The property is not built well so expect a lot of maintenance and repairs. Or full renovations to fix extreme levels of damage. The leasing office people are not helpful, they are rude and they have no respect for the property or tenants. The rent is extremely high for the quality of living in Harbor Pointe. They will also tow your car all while trying to make you pay for all of the repairs and services caused by faulty electrical and plumbing and cooling systems. Would never recommend.

I have enjoyed many years of living at Harbor Pointe. The apartments, the facilities and the management are excellent.
Harbor Pointe is a great place to live. The apartments are very modern and spacious. The ammendates are resort like. Very close to the beach and so the location is great and a very reasonable price.
Awesome place! Laura and Jamie in the office were extremely professional, helpful and responsive to make the leasing process and move in super easy. Great floor plan and amenities. Great location and super easy access to all main highways!
Since our first viewing to present day, Laura has been our contact person. Laura is extremely professional and detail oriented, and provides us with a 5-Star experience. My favorite quality of Harbor Pointe is the cleanliness of the property, and the pride the management, staff and residents take in maintaining the beautiful grounds. Also, ample parking for residents and guests is always a positive attribute. We love Harbor Pointe!!!

Harbor Pointe is overall a really nice place to live. The apartments are cute and well maintained. The pool/spa area is fantastic. We love the amenities. And were glad to be living here!
Harbor Point used to be a nice place to live, before moving in. Once you move in, all courtesy goes out the door. Management neither resolves issues nor cares about the residents. If you are looking for community, keep looking as Harbor Point is not that place.

This company is greedy and taking advantage of those of us during this pandemic that are on unemployment, struggling to continue to pay rent and then charging us late fees even when rent is still paid. It's gross and greedy
I would not recommend living here it seems like nothing has been updated besides maybe a quick splash of paint from the first week weve been putting in request to have our carpet fixed it was peeling up off the stairs doors were broken weve had multiple plumbing leaks from the showers and the sinks dont drain properly and smell horrible

The apartment complex is gated which is very good for our security. With in walking distance we are near great shopping, banking, and plenty of great restaurants. We are about a mile from Dana Point Harbor and great beaches. What more could anyone want?!?!?
I have already recommended Harbor Pointe to others in the past In the @ mos. Ive been here I met someone and he now resides in one of the larger Apts because I referred him. Happy to do so because its a very lovely apt complex to live.
The management and staff are all very professional and responsive.
If you do not park in your assigned parking space after 10pm even as a resident you will get towed. They only provide guest parking passes between 9am and 6pm, so if you work during the day like the majority of people do your guests will have to park out on the main road (Golden Lantern) and walk in; depending on where in the complex you live that could be like 5-10 minutes from where they have to park. Also keep in mind the fact that they assign parking is a joke or require quests to have a pass because literally OVER HALF of the uncovered parking is open every night because NOONE has time to go get a parking pass before the office closes when they have a normal job. The gym is a joke, it’s smaller than an average size bedroom with old and dirty equipment. And let’s TOP IT OFF, when you go to do a lease renewal they will offer you the absolute maximum increase in rent that they are allowed to, and when you tell them that other complexes (the directly across the street) are running a one month off special, and they have been fully renovated with brand new everything this year, the property manager tells you that their “vacancy rate is so low we don’t have to compete with other properties”. And last BUT NOT LEAST! When you are finally deciding to give your 30-day notice and you look at the other available units in the same complex you notice that the same exact floor plan is being offered for anywhere from $40 less a month to $100 less a month than the lease renewal offer the property manager just sent you; remember that the same property manager said our “vacancy rate is so low we don’t have to compete with other properties”, and that was their “best and final renewal price”. And now looking back at the current prices of the same units I noticed were already lower than mine and my unit itself as well, they all have now dropped prices twice since I declined to resign my lease, and two units that are my exact floorplan have been vacant for over a month; property is losing rent with them vacant, but they don’t have to compete with other properties.... don’t move here if you want business friendliness, or to feel like you are just a rent check to this property; the office people are not friendly, not helpful, and definitely do a 180 after you sign your lease....

from day one..it has been a pleasure to live here...no stress and a lot of fun
The floor plan is amazing, by a long shot compared to other local communities, but, the exterior wood on building is riddled with termites. I shared it with the management and the said there was no termite issue. it was clearly just painted over before my move in and within the first week the damage was incredible. I hope with the news of a paint team coming to paint, they first take care of the damage and rotted wood.

We Love Harbor Point. With beautiful spacious floor plans and privacy my kids love this neighborhood. Lots of friendly people and we get together for fun bbqs in the summer. Really feels like a small community family here.
Harbor Point In Dana Point is the ideal California experience! Close to the harbor/ many great beaches. You get the ability to have some more calm open areas that you dont get closer to LA, and Newport isnt that far away. The location is great for groceries/ general house needs as well. We highly reccommend it!
Excellent location with ample floor plans that have been recently remodelled; clean and functional amenities; including pool (warm through winter), gym (small but functional), and tennis courts. In addition, one of the best maintenance services I've experienced in communities of this type.
Harbor Point is a wonderful place to live. The grounds are clean and well kept, The units are beautiful, the staff are all friendly and helpful and the location can't be beat.
You will basically pay for the location! Apartments are too old and the office managers are unprofessional! They raise the rent approximately $200.00 each year so rent is extremely high for what you get. Parking is an issue and the garage doors make a very loud noise! Ican't wait to move out of this place!
The entire apartment complex is EXTREMELY well cared for. There is always some type of contractor on the premises working on something. The only reason I gave it four stars is because the apartments are old and things are slowly starting to fall apart. Cupboards are getting old, dishwasher has trouble, but it is to be expected from old hardware. Other than that, I feel very safe and feel as if the price is outstanding in comparison to other apartments in the area
Ocean, Arts, Harbor Restrurants & Shopping plus Stores of convenience. Beautiful People run my village and treat their residence with refined respect! 5 Star area and respectable rates for this most upscale neighborhood!
