Walls are super super thin! (You can literally hear your neighbors snoring!) Workers are super nosey and not friendly at all. Washer and dryers don't work half the time and quite expensive. You pay for amenities even when they shut down. I would never suggest this place to any friend or acquaintance.

Me and my husband lived in the Harbor Tower Apartment for 8 months. We were so in love with the place, but had to moved out of town due to our jobs.. The management was great, the amenities were great, the front desk's people were friendly and how can we forget the great view we had. If I had relocate to P-town in future, Harbor Tower would be my choice again for sure. Its the best place to live in the area, period.

We moved in this past July and have absolutely loved living at Harbor Towers. There are so many postives that began right when we walked through the front door. Erin was so friendly and helped us find a perfect place. We love the pool, gym, billiards room, and common areas. You feel like you are living in a luxury hotel 24 hours a day. Also, the staff are very friendly and helpful and make you feel welcome immediately. All the neighbors are kind and the management group holds nice little "get-togethers" like Christmas parties and potluck dinners. The view is absolutely stunning. Hands down the best place to reside in the Hampton Roads area! We highly recommend!

I lived in Harbor Tower Apartments in the late 80's and early 90's. I came back this year and I never plan to leave, I love it! After spending many years in Florida, I returned home to live here. The apartments are well kept, any maintenance work orders are immediately fixed and the Manager and staff are great. In addition, all apartments have interesting and fantastic views!

I can't tell you how great it is to be living at 1 Harbor Tower. It took my wife and me over four years to get the apartment we wanted. That just shows you how popular this location is and how many people are looking for a place to rent. Everything you could want is here, work out center, pool, BBQ, dog park, washer and dryers, the view of the river and quiet. I tell other people I know to stop by the rental office and take a tour.

We have lived here for 6 months. It is so clean and has many amenities for residents. Everyone who works here are so kind and helpful. The river views are beautiful.

Life doesn't get any better then living at Harbor Towers. The staff are warm and professional, especially Erin in the front office. I moved from Texas and she made the transition so easy. The concierge, doormen, and maintenance men are always welcoming. The apartments have all the amenities you could ask for; state of the art gym, sauna, pool table, business center, mail room, relaxation area, greeting room, out door pool, courtyard, a dog park, tennis court, etc. You name it, Harbor Towers has it and the price isn't to expensive. The apartments is conveniently located close to downtown, the post office, Starbucks, a variety of church's, and old Town. Those are all in walking distance. You can catch the Ferry (which is next to the apartments)across the river to Waterside. Come and experience the beautiful view of the harbor from your apartment. I have a one bedroom which has a multiple of closets with lots of space. The apartment is spacious. Harbor Towers has elevators, one of which is large for moving. The also have a covered garage for parking. This is the life, I highly recommend you experience it.

Just a few words regarding why we are so excited to be members of the Harbor Tower Community... My wife and I have just recently retired and relocated to Portsmouth from Boston at a friend s request. Shortly after arriving we began the search for a new home. Visiting the farmers market on High Street we literally stumbled on the Tower and decided to take the tour. We were greeted with a smile and a genuine desire to help us find exactly what we were looking for. Well, we ve been here for just over a month and couldnt be more pleased with our decision to make the Harbor Tower Apartment Community our home... Beautiful grounds, location, incredibly friendly neighbors and staff.. and the feeling of safety are but a few reasons for us making the Harbor Tower Apartment Community our forever home. My wife and I moved here back in April 2016 and we recently re-leased for another year, it was the best decision we've made! We absolutely love Harbor Tower! The location is ideal, it's centralized and everything is close, it's conveniently located next to the ferry stop and it has a private multi-level parking lot. They have a pool lounge where you can bring drinks and friends, a very nice gym with a sauna, a pool, valet attendant services, washers and dryers on every floor, a 24/7 business center with fast computers and printers with faxing capabilities, mailbox with great mail services and much more. Other than the amenities, what I absolutely love about Harbor Tower is the staff. The maintenance crew, valet attendees, leasing office personnel and concierges have been so welcoming and helpful since Day One. They always greet us and asks how we are doing and if we need anything. They have gone above and beyond to help us with anything, no matter how big or small. One quick and recent example was a couple of weeks ago. My wife is 29 weeks pregnant and a couple of weeks ago cigarette smoke and smell was coming in thru our apartment from our neighbors. My wife went down to the leasing office to complain and Erin was quick to take action. Within an hour she posted "No Smoking" signs on all the hallways of the 2 floors up and down from our apartment floor. She also sent a mass email to all the residents reminding them not to smoke inside the apartments. After that day, we haven't smelled any cigarette smoke inside our apartment. My husband and I moved into Harbor Tower in July 2017. We could not be happier with the setup! We have a beautiful view of Craford Bay, Waterside, and the Elizabeth River. We have more space than we need at 2 bedrooms and 2 baths but the price was better than every smaller apartment we saw in Norfolk or Portsmouth. The ferry stop right outside our door makes my commute to Norfolk easy and enjoyable. The staff at Harbor Tower -- from the leasing office to the concierge desk to the maintenance crew -- are always approachable and responsive. We have not had any issues with management since we've been here. Plus, our neighbors are all quite friendly and the Olde Towne neighborhood is the best in Portsmouth. I highly recommend Harbor Tower Apartments.

I've been a resident for 4 months, and love it here. The staff is friendly and responsive, the apartment is spacious, the view is incredible, and I love that we're in the heart of Olde Towne and a ferry ride away from downtown Norfolk. My wife and I often spend evenings with the TV off just watching the boats in the harbor, so the view doesn't get old. Not planning on leaving any time soon.

I’ve immensely enjoyed my time here! All residents and staff are friendly and extremely helpful. Security is top notch...unbeatable!! Location is close to numerous military bases. Makes my daily commute painless! I’ve been working in property management for 19 years (Alaska, Germany, England & Virginia) and I highly recommend Harbor Tower Apartments!!

The staff was helpful until they called to reject me. I make more money than what is required, two little minor things on my credit and I was rejected. The company expects you to have A1 credit. One of the questions that was asked was illegal and I feel offended that it would even be asked. This is not the place that you would want to stay.

I just left Harbor Tower due to a change in family status. Harbor Tower is fabulous. Great staff, concierge, valet, 24 hour maintenance--it's like living in a luxury condo in Manhattan. Safety and security are excellent, and the views are spectacular! I highly recommend this property.

This is a great place living in a high-rise apartment. You can enjoy spectacular views, tennis courts, pool, saunas, fitness center, and billiards room. The staff and residents are always friendly. Dogs and cats are allowed, but with weight and breed restrictions. It is also in walking distance to Olde Towne Portsmouth and the Elizabeth River ferry picks up just outside the apartments.

Harbor Tower is like a luxury hotel, with all the amenities, where you don't have to check out the next day. The concierge is attentive, pleasant and helpful in emergency. The valets-couldn't do without them. They are the strength I've lost since being alone. People come and go like a silent family. Most are pleasant and friendly and always a happy greeting. Last but not least the goodwill, greetings and smiles going from the staff who call you by name and are genuinely concerned for you. The large main room I move furniture and have already had three arrangements. It's like going into a new house each time. The Harbor view of course. I grew up on boats and now get to enjoy them in cool comfort while someone else does the work. The north wind. My window stays open all year and the stiff breeze brings me to life. The pantry! For me it's been an artist's study, a drying yard and ok a throwing place. The walk-in closet. Spring, summer, fall and winter, it's in there. I try not to go into the kitchen too often, I cooked for five for fifty years. I do enjoy the brightness of the kitchen and bath.

14 years ago when I became the sole occupant of the family home, I decided to give up the hassle of home-ownership and follow my brother to Harbor Tower. Brochures of Harbor Tower feature an imposing structure , but I found the HEART of the building. My location is on the northwest corner of the building. To the north I have panoramic view of the Elizabeth River. There is much to observe on this busy river(commercial ships, naval vessels, cruise ships, recreational craft and colorful sailboats. Every staff member that I pass will offer a pleasant greeting and address me by name. All apartments have their own heating and cooling unit. All facilities are provided for domestic duties (stove, microwave, fridge, garbage disp and dishwasher). and a wash room with a very efficient washer and dyer that are only steps away from each apartment on every floor. I have the extra bonus of caring neighbor. All residents are served by a pleasant, efficient, staff that's readily available with a phone call. I'm a happy camper and I'm so glad this is where I "pitched my tent".

Location, location, location! Waterfront views, scenic sunrises and sunsets, AWESOME staff (Concierge, valet, maintenance)! Business Center, Gym with saunas, billiard room, residential gathering spot, heated pool and tennis court with barbecue area with waterfall! Covered parking garage and SAFE AND SECURE! I've lived at Harbor Tower Apartments going on four years now and I absolutely love this place. My apartment has one huge bed room that accomdates my king size bed my dressers and file cabinets where I have important information, and what I love most my beautiful view from my bed, my bedroom window, of my home city downtown Norfolk, across the Elizabeth River. It has one full bath with a shower system that heats up fast and the pressure is just right, feels like a massage where you never want to get out. Also, in my apartment is the very spacious living room with the full wall size picture window. I live on the 9th floor and the view out side the picture window is nothing short of magnificent. I love sitting in front of the window and enjoying the fireworks during the holiday seasons, just great!!! Also, the kitchen has all the makings of a home kitchen, fully electric with granite countertops, very nice. In addition, the apartment has amenities that's available for all residents, a computer room, a weight room with full sunna, a recreation room with pool tables and Tv's, a spacious living room with full kitchen and piano, again available for all residents to use daily. I titled this review, Tranquility because with other residents that live in the Tower, this place has the most respectful friendly neighbors. Quite is my middle name when it comes to piece of mind, and this place has it. I simply can't get enough!!!

LOCATED IN OLD TOWNE PORTSMOUTH, VA. IT IS ALSO ON THE FERRY STOP. THE BUILDING IS MAINTAINED IMMACULATELY WITH A FABULOUS STAFF! A GYM, HEATED POOL, BILLIARDS ROOM, BUSINESS CENTER, AND RESIDENTIAL AREA. I REALLY LOVE THE CONCIERGE AND VALET! THE MAINTENANCE STAFF IS RESPONSIVE AND TALENTED! THIS IS THE BEST KEPT SECRET IN PORTSMOUTH! MY 22 FLOOR VIEW IS FABULOUS!

I love my apartment! I moved in recently, and it's a 5 Star place to live all around! Not only is there comfortable living space, amenities available in the building, and an awesome location, the view is to die for! While searching for apartments in the area, I saw that pound for pound, the deal you receive for the square footage, view, and the customer service of the staff far surpasses any other nearby locations. It is an excellent place to live if your are like me and are confined to a wheelchair. It is centrally located near banks, restaurants, library, and churches. Even though the kitchen cabinets are not really accessible for wheelchair persons, I have found ways to use them too. The bathroom door is wide enough for my wheelchair so I can go in, use the bathroom and take a bath. It is a nice quiet place to live. The laundry room is easy accessible as well as the trash room. The employees who work here are always very pleasant and courteous. I have lived here 20 years and it is a wonderful place to call my home.

I love these apartments! There is nothing more to look at when you see this home! Water front, valet services, sauna, pool/waterside, dry cleaning...I really feel like I couldn't upgrade from this unless I lived in a mansion with my own personal servers. I just believe the staff here is so friendly and helpful all of the time. They greet us every time we walk in, and has it a great security system, from the front door to the inside of my own home. The concierge is here around the clock. I almost forgot, we have a billards room; with two pool tables, a weight and aerobics room, a lounge area and a chat room, not to mention with free printer and faxing. I can't say I would ever want to move. Every day I come home, I don't want to leave. Why should I? And if I do, I don't even need to drive. I can walk downtown Portsmouth and take the ferry ride for just 1.75 to downtown Norfolk and there you are at the mall. This side of the river is a lot more peaceful here and beautiful. I love it. I can't express more the true happiness I have found living in my home here in Portsmouth. Thank you for everything Harbor Tower! I love you, and thanks for bringing in the new steel appliances in too! If I really desired to upgrade, the penthouse is available as well, with rooftop access and incredible views everywhere you look, from all of the apartments! I almost forgot, I have the direct window view of the water stage with free, live entertainment every week! Can't beat the Harbor Tower apts. Living Luxurious.

We were PCS'ed to Portsmouth, VA and it was disappointing. My husband being active duty was to get underway for the majority of the three year tour. We went there and I was frustrated due to the separation coming; we have no child, no family in the area and I was going to be alone for the most part. We left DC and started house hunting. We had been in the metro area for 10 years and had lived in places where we had been robbed and in neighborhoods that were "sketchy", causing us to move on short notice. We also we still owners of a townhouse in PG county, MD. Needless to say my husband wanted me to be in a safe place while he was underway. He wanted me to have access to people, and businesses we could trust. I am a teleworker so a business center was also important in the event I had technical difficulties. We looked around online, run the crime reports and got worried. During a visit to the area we stayed at the Renaissance Hotel and wonder what the building was next door. We went over. Lo and behold it was Harbor Tower Apartments. We took the tour. We found out that the building has a concierge service, dry cleaning pick-up, fitness center with Sauna, covered reserved parking, tennis courts, swimming pool, bike storage, extra storage space, package leaving services, VALET and assisted living. During the year we have been here we had so many trials that it would take a day to run them down but the ONLY GREAT THING was Harbor Tower. The views are amazing. The customer service is unbeatable, the maintenance was same day. I have never felt safer in a place and I have lived all over. To top it off just outside of the apartment on the Elizabeth River are concerts, little festivals as well as the Ferry that carries folks over to the Norfolk waterside. I have never seen such a beautiful fourth of July Display and I have been to the Washington DC, Baltimore and a few others. Had it not been for this complex I would have gone nuts. I met two life-long friends, became an amazing swimmer and witnessed a snow storm over the Elizabeth River. I saw dolphin and festivals take place right off my baloney and have been truly thankful for my time at Harbor Tower. It is coming to an end soon and I have had the hardest time trying to find a place that would match it in my new location. I wished I could upload photos because seeing is truly believing. IF you are relocating to Portsmouth, VA Harbor Tower is the only place I would recommend.

It's at a great location on the waterfront. It's a little pricey, but worth it if you like a rural downtown lifestyle. Multiple restaurant and entertainment in walking distance. It's also a 2 minute ferry ride from the vibrant Norfolf downtown.

Located right in Downtown Portsmouth mere minutes walk away from multiple museums, the historic Commodore Theatre, and even the Ntelos Pavilion the location is particularly good. There are events every week on Thursdays as well, so it's not hard to find something fun to do. Their own parking garage with assigned parking and even visitor parking makes finding a spot easy. Exercise rooms and a pool make it easy to workout whenever you you like too. The biggest flaw is that apartments don't have their own washer/dryer, instead each floor has a washer/dryer and the residents are given an electronic pay card, better than having to go scrounge quarters, but it can still be annoying.

The apartment complex is a master piece of engineering. The location of the Harbor Tower Apartments is located at the front of Elizabeth River in which is fantastic for the Norfolk festivities. The amenities and the best panoramic view from any balcony are for total enjoyment with an excellent glass of wine. The common areas are fantastic, twenty four hours gym facilities with the best equipment, meeting room, computer lodge, security with cameras, pool, private and valet parking and a fantastic lodge for the renter could enjoy a relaxed afternoon.

Living at the Harbor Tower Apartments has been the most exciting time of my life. I moved here at a very difficult time in my life. My spouse of forty years passed away. When I entered the building I knew this is where I wanted to be. The atmosphere is very clean and inviting. The staff is very friendly and helpful, ensuring you, you will enjoy not only the spacious apartments, but the beautiful views from every room in your apartment. All of my guests are amazed at the spaciousness and the awesome views that I have. The location is great, walking distance to restaurants, entertainment, a boat ride away from Norfolk, malls, military treatment facilities, shipyard. Just the perfect location. The on-site amenities just can not be beat (work-out area) sauna, pool, game room, business office, video rental, and lounge which can be rented for special family events. On a scale of one to ten....I give Harbor Tower at definite TEN.

This apartment building is lovely. The building offers great views over-looking the water and the Norfolk skyline. Located in Old Towne Portsmouth just a few blocks from High Street, this building is within walking distance of the Children's museum, the Library, restaurants, bars, a movie theatre, and the Cultural Arts Center. The building also neighbors the ferry stop, which will take you on a scenic ride across the water to Norfolk, and drops you off within walking distance of Granby Street and McAurthur mall for even more restaurants, bars and shopping.The concierge and valet staff are extremely friendly and helpful, and the building maintenance workers are always flexible and efficient, handling any issues you encounter quickly and in a timely manner. The amenities are very well kept up with providing clean fun areas to enjoy. Parking is great with the attached garage; when it's snowing or raining you can always get to the garage through the tunnel that connects to the building through the basement. When you have to bring up groceries, there is convenient 20 minute parking located directly outside of the building entrance, where valet will loan you a shopping cart and assist you with your groceries so you don't have to make multiple trips in the elevator. Overall it's a spectacular place to live with incredible views.

The complete staff is an enlightenment to the customer service since I return back from overseas--US. Government assignment. The US Government gave me fantastic recommendations of the “Harbor Tower Apartments” in which with the locality of essential amenities are a great need. Since I arrived to the front door at the valet parking a saturday morning in which I just came out from the Norfolk International Airport and during the morning hours---the staff of Tower Apartments point me to the receptionist to assist me with my new apartment key and show personal attention to the surrounding of the facilities and the apartment its self in which I felt if I was in the penthouse in Manhattan, New York. The views of the Elizabeth River and Norfolk are fantastic. I have been leaving in the Tower Apartments in Portsmouth, Virginia since June 2014 and I have recommended this apartment complex to others. Also, the 24 hours parking is another thing that I don’t have to worry about what could happen to my vehicle. The parking surroundings are always clean. The maintenance crews are always very polite and fast in case something inside the apartment gets broken. In conclusion, this apartment complex are in the need to have a sister complex in Miami, Florida and in Dubai. Thanks again for the fantastic service provided to the US. Government.

My husband and I as well as my two children have been living at Harbor Towers for a year and we really enjoy it. The staff is courteous and the amenities are top notch. I chose Harbor Towers over other apartments because the apartments are spacious and the rent is reasonable. My apartment overlooks the Elizabeth River and there is is a beautiful view from every room. The ferry is right outside our building so we have easy access to Norfolk. Harbor Towers is located right in the heart of the city; which means we are always close to the main events put on by the city of Portsmouth or Norfolk. Selecting Harbor Towers is a decision I am glad I made.

Being a resident of Harbor Towers has been a great experience. Its many amenities has given us a sense of well being .From the convient reserved parking to the beautiful view of the harbor to the great features like picnic area, tennis court, pool, 24 hr fitness center with locker rooms, showers and sauna and many more. Our friends and family are in awe of the layout of the apartment, the roomy closets and the view of the river. We continually brag about how much we love living here and would highly recommend it to anyone thinking about down sizing.

When searching for an apartment, I searched Chesapeake, Norfolk, and Portsmouth. The units in Chesapeake were newer as were a few in Norfolk. The units in Norfolk had the urban feel like those found in Old Towne Portsmouth, but none could, or can beat the "Killer Views" of Harbor Tower Apartments. I found that most amenities are similar, some better than others of course, but I have found the staff at Harbor Tower helpful and the setting fantastic. For me, I can walk to work, walk to the downtown and its selection of restaurants and Taverns, or simply enjoy the waterfront and the more urban life.

I have known this building since its birth (1984). I have visited many friends that have lived here since then. I have lived here myself for the past six (6) years. The view I have of the Elizabeth River and Norfolk, Va. waterfront from my 11th floor, ceiling to floor windows that I look thru while sitting in my lounge chair are spectacular. I have thousands of photos that can verify the thousands of boats, ships and river activity that has occurred since I've been here. The building also has a Billiards Room, a Weight Exercise Room, a Cardio Exercise Room, a Computer Room, a Social Room, a Deck/Pool and Two Tennis Courts next to the Seawall. The Elizabeth River Ferry, which takes you to Norfolk Waterside or the Harbor Park Baseball Field (home of the Norfolk Tides AAA Club) if at the foot of the building. We are in Olde Towne Portsmouth, six(6) to eight(8) blocks within all the Restaurants and some of the oldest homes in Virginia if not the United States. The first thing I told people from the birth of the building is THIS IS THE BEST DEAL ON THE EAST COAST. I would be glad to furnish any of the photos I've taken to prove my case.

Location, location, location. No artist could paint a better picture than the location of this pictorial view of the Elizabeth river and skylines of Portsmouth, Norfolk and Chesapeake from this high-rise abode. At any given time you can view all types of ships passing thru ; along with morning and evening board walkers and sitters enjoying the view of the up close calmness of still water run deep. An added amenity is restaurants, movies, and markets are a stone throw away. Come live with us, I'm sure you will love it.

the amenities are great the conceirge is always sweet and helpful and its right next to the ferry. the floor im on i have an amazing veiw!

The immediate area is olde town Portsmouth and has a very charming atmosphere to it. However, immediately outside of olde town is a complete disaster. And don't get me started on traffic. The apartment rooms themselves are nice with beautiful views from any window. Good apartment community with helpful staff and a lot of convenient amenities. 4/5 because of the location.
