Located on Aquidneck Island in Newport County, the pleasant seaside community of Middletown has a lot to offer visitors and residents alike. Middletown has two smaller villages, Easton Point and Sachuest, and functioned as the agricultural heartland of Aquidneck Island. Today, much of the town's development is on the agricultural side, while the beaches are still underdeveloped. Middletown offers a quiet, pleasant life with ample recreation opportunities and a close knit community feel.
If you're looking for a seaside home in Middletown, focus your search on the eastern side of town which is less developed and closer to the shore. The western part of Middletown is more developed, and has the greater share of Middletown apartments, condos, and single family homes. The most expensive areas of town include Sachuest and Middletown center, with Lawtons and the Pier Access Road offering less expensive Middletown homes.

Property Ratings at Harbor Village
I've lived at Harbor Village for about 3 years now and have had no complaints what so ever. The building are older but they are kept up very nicely. My hallway was recently painted and had a carpet clean which made it smell great. The painted walls in the hallways sometimes get scuffed up from people moving in and out but it doesn't really bother me all that much. The apartments are a great size for the price (I live in a 2 bedroom). Maintenance always clears sidewalks after snow and always clear the parking lots. All the snow removal is done by the time I go to work. Maintenance will come to the apartment for any necessary fixes or emergencies (I haven't really had any problems so I don't see them all that much). It is super close to Newport so I can just take a couple minute drive if I want to go downtown. Everything as far as gas, groceries, restaurants, etc. is all within a mile of this place. I recently purchased a home so I will be moving out, and in a sense I am almost sad about it since I made my apartment at Harbor Village exactly how I want it. (The let you paint and hang pictures on the wall, mount TVs on the walls, etc). It will be sad to leave but its been great here.
Great place to live! I couldn't disagree more with the review below me as my boyfriend and I have had great experiences living here the past two years. We are a military couple and like to keep to ourselves so the fact that the buildings are quiet is a plus for us. We've had three maintenance issues since we've been here and they were taken care of within a couple days. We get a lot of packages sent to the office and the staff always call us to let us know once they come in. The apartments themselves are a bit dated but for the price your paying in the area it's an easy obstacle to overcome. We are in a dog building and have had no issues with excess barking just the normal dog being a dog. I can speak for my neighbors as well as we all plan to stay until our military orders are up. Highly recommended!
I am beyond disappointed with our 2-bedroom apartment here at Harbor Village. My boyfriend and I moved from a 1 bedroom and never had a problem since we moved to the 2 bed its been a nightmare. The staff hasn't followed through on basic maintenance issues, they do not communicate and there is a complete lack of leadership and understanding of what anyone is doing. When we moved in we noticed a series of problems some of which have yet to be fixed and that was six months ago. I'm not asking for perfection but something as simple as a draw not falling out isn't that hard to do. Since that its been problem after problem. I work from home and was even forced to leave the apartment for a full day and night with my six month old son because "they forgot" to communicate to me that they were spray painting....why where they spray painting oh because there was faucet was leaking...actually spewing backup for about 3 hours on a friday before someone was able to get here and address the problem. Now that up and decided to change the entire parking arrangement without warning. they are now expecting my family and I to park almost a football field away when there are open spots 15 steps from the door. I"m tired of the management and poor response of said management. I'm tired of living in a place that is falling apart and has problem after problem. Oh yeah and forget about the basement storage...our building is flooded in the basement and covered with mold. Shape up harbor village. P.S. Don't go in a dog building the management doesn't care if they bark all day and night and by all day and night...I literally mean all day and night.
I have lived in Harbor Village for 19 years come June 5th. I love this place, the staff, and everything around it. They take very good care of us and they make sure we are happy. I would never move out of here.
I currently live in these apartments. They are awful. The roads are totally messed up. The buildings are full of dust and bugs. The grass areas are full of holes which I am constantly falling in while walking my dog. They don't have much lighting outside at night. Today my husband and I were reorganizing our apartment and put a box outside our door along with my rain boots so we could take the box of recyclables to the trash once done collecting it all and less than 2 hours later we got a notice saying not to leave personal items outside the door. They are obnoxious and rude! They are constantly changing the rules here with no notice. The laundry room is horrible and most machines leave your clothes in water. Never live here.
