If you want to live close to Indianapolis but not in the middle of the hustle and bustle of a large city, Millersville is the place for you. The neighborhood lies northeast of the city, just 12 short minutes from downtown Indianapolis when driving. Millersville is a large village tucked away in the Fall Creek Valley. It consists of several smaller neighborhoods, but the village is a close-knit community offering a variety of special events. Residents enjoy walking and biking the Fall Creek Trail, which leads to Fort Benjamin Harrison State Park.
Millersville can also be a great home to people who love being surrounded by nature. The many lakes here such as Lake Kesslerwood and Mallard Lake add beauty to the neighborhood and encourage residents to go out and explore the land. A group called Millersville at Fall Creek Valley Inc. has set out to help preserve and promote the natural beauty and history of the neighborhood.

Property Ratings at Harbour Pointe
I lived here for 2 years and the moment I renewed for year 2, I regretted it. Area’s crime skyrocketed and felt so unsafe. If someone in your building smoked weed & got tipped to staff, oh don’t worry, they’ll slap on eviction warnings to every. single. door. No matter if you’re clear on the opposite end. Also don’t bother deep cleaning and repairing everything upon move-out, they’ll slap on every cost possible & charge a full cleaning fee no matter if you got every dust particle.
The neighborhood has definitely gotten sketchier. Not sure if they are renting to more questionable folks or what the issue is. Maintenance crew was the best thing about the place. Leasing stuff is entirely unhelpful in solving any issues within the property. You WILL NOT be getting your security deposit back. They aggressively gouge you for silly things like hundreds of dollars for the butter cover door in the fridge and malfunctioning blinds. Just absurd costs that have no bearing in reality. Unless you’re prepared to forfeit your security deposit plus some more, move on from this one.
I read through some of the other reviews to see if I was the only one having some issues, and sure enough, I wasn't. The maintenance staff is great. Haven't had too much trouble with the front office staff. The issue, in my opinion, has been Ardizzone (sp?) Group - the managing company that took over of the property approx 2 years ago. Since then, it just doesn't feel like home. If you like to be treated like you live in a halfway house, this place is for you! I've had multiple letters stating whomever is smoking Marijuana in the apartment needs to stop or there will be consequences. While it isn't me, is that really the way to go about it? And you'll just love to see your money literally being thrown away. They replaced my beautiful wooden deck with a new painted one. Now my deck is peeling paint, has rusted screws everywhere, and the boards are warped and sticking up. I put in a service request, but they keep track of how many requests you have/how many days you've lived there, so I'm afraid to get too many things fixed or they just may charge me. They just installed thousands of dollars worth of rocks where there used to be wild growth and flowers, probably for the last 60+ years this place has been here. I'm guessing so that come renewal time, they can point at all the 'upgrades' they made. It's a relatively quiet place, and safe for the most part. Did have my catalytic converter stolen last Summer. So, overall, it's nice - just hope to God you don't need to ever deal with the property management group or I promise you'll be SOL and they will not work with you.
Harbour Pointe has been great so far. My boyfriend and I moved in in July of this year and haven't had any issues. The neighborhood is very quiet and peaceful and is kept up really well. The location is great too- 15 minutes from downtown with a trail across the street to exercise and/or walk your pet. Maintenance has responded to both our requests on the same day we placed them and have been very nice and easy to work with. The units are beautiful and spacious. I would definitely renew my lease here at HP!
Harbor pointe is my first ever apartment and I love it . Most people mind there’s business(not the lady below obviously) but it’s a quite slow neighborhood. maintenance has never been a issue. Straight up the dish washers don’t work but besides that (and a robbery across the street from me and my car) nice neighborhood ????
Property Manager at Harbour Pointe, Responded To This Review
Hello! Thank you for taking the time to leave us a 5-star review.
Don't choose this complex if you want your apartment and the surrounding areas to smell like weed literally 24/7. When the A/C and heat turn on, the smell is amplified. Also, if you want to see your neighbors smoking marijuana on their patios freely and management says nothing about it.
Maintenance walks into your apartment without letting you know prior. They also ask you to put up your pets, even though they are the ones coming to your home unannounced.... They also don't know how to properly read the trouble ticket. There was a trouble ticket placed by apartment 3104A and they came to a whole different building and apartment....
1. This complex says "dog friendly" but they only mean dog friendly if your dog is less than 50 pounds. 2. This complex and the majority of its residents only treat you the "dog friendly" way if your dog doesn't look like a pitbull, boxer, or labradors. 3. This complex blames certain pet owners for OTHER pet owners not picking up their pet's poop. 4. Even when you try to defend that you pick up your pet's poop every single time, the complex believes the people blaming you so they can charge you money. 5. There is nothing in the lease or pet lease that says you can get fined for pet potty mistakes, but the complex charges you what ever amount they want to anyway & says you have to pay. (when legally, you do not). 6. This complex lets its residents smoke weed and be as loud as they want throughout all hours, but won't believe you when you say your dog only poops in one spot and it's cleaned every time. 7. This complex lets unauthorized pets in and lets people who don't pay pet deposits and pet rent have pets, but doesn't believe the residents the first time they are blamed for something.
Harbour Pointe was great when I moved in three years ago, but everything has been going downhill since the new management took over. My rent has been raised $100 both my last lease and the new renewal rate they just sent me for the upcoming 2021. I had been asking them for over six months about the rate and if it would go up and they told me that they couldn’t tell me. Then last week, Jessica told me she would have my renewal letter to me on that same day she emailed me back. I did not receive it until a week later. When I received it, they raised my rent $100 and are giving me only a week to accept the offer when my lease doesn’t even end until February. They also said in the letter that they will automatically renew my lease to a month-to-month (which is my current rate plus $200 or the market rate for my style of apartment plus $200). The reason I even signed a new lease is because I was told my apartment would be renovated, but it has been a year and not one renovation has occurred. They have absolutely no sympathy for residents during a pandemic. Their office workers are lazy and take forever to respond or just don’t respond. This has honestly been the worse. Old management and Sylvia were great and on top of everything. It really is a shame to see what this complex has become.
I'm moving out when my lease is up after 4 happy years living here. I was recommended this place by a few different past residents, and they were right. It's great if you don't have a big budget and you want to be very close to downtown. Pros: Management is really fabulous, personable, and kind. I can think of maybe twice that I called in a maintenance request and it fell through the cracks somehow, and they immediately corrected it and sent someone right out. Really, most of my requests have been handled same-day, and I've needed to use emergency maintenance twice and they came right through. The maintenance guys are all very nice, and almost always respond to a work order same day, unless you call it in in the afternoon or they're super slammed. In four years, I've only had an increase of $5 in rent. They very rarely need to enter the apartment for inspections or anything, and always give you a written warning -- they've even called me before because they know I don't always check my mailbox daily, and told me to check my mail! My first winter here, we had an awful snow/ice storm that absolutely buried all the non-carport parked cars. All of the maintenance crew were on hand bright and early to shovel and push cars out for the morning commute, mine included. Just really nice people, consistently so. Cons: It's a complex built in the 70s right by the fairgrounds. The apartments are a little rickety, the neighborhood isn't great. You'll hear trains and ambulances in the middle of the night sometimes. You'll probably be driving up to Castleton or Broadripple for groceries, restaurants, and entertainment (like 15 minutes either way). For the square footage and price, it's a good deal, but if you're not comfortable with the location or bare bones 70s-ness of it all, it's probably not going to be worth it for you. Your mileage may vary depending on your needs, but I think the people working here are really lovely, nice people.
The apartments are old which is why the value is great because you're not paying for the costs of renovations. If you're looking for extremely gorgeous apartments look elsewhere. However if you're looking for basic necessities and a decent amount of space this place is for you. You're not going to find any other apartments with washers and dryers in the unit for this price which honestly is my biggest selling point. Being just across Fall Creak the apartments seem isolated from the crime further south. I've lived here for about two years now without a single issue regarding my car or apartment. Most of the buildings are relatively quiet without any bad neighbors. I've lived in two buildings since being here after switching to a two bedroom and I have also have had a couple other friends live in different buildings. The maintenance team is extremely nice and if you have pets most of them do as well so their patient with dogs. I really can't justify moving anywhere else unless you're wanting to be closer to some of the more expensive areas.
I have lived at Harbour Pointe Apartments for about 8 months and it has been a disappointment. I read the same reviews below and thought that this would be a great place to live but as you can see most of the reviews are from years ago nothing for 2017. The scenery and landscaping of the apartment complex is indeed BEAUTIFUL and the apartments themselves are pretty quiet but that's about it. The apartments are very old, built decades ago, I believe in the 1970s and you can tell. Everything in the apartment is outdated, constantly breaking, counter-tops sloping, doors and locks not working and the managers solution to these problems is " NOTHING". Their response is, " the apartments are old and they can no longer find service providers to fix the outdated structure and they will not be compensating for any suffering or discomfort either". The maintenance team and the management do not respond to verbal work orders. It could be a full month of consistently calling the front office and they still will not come. The only way to get them to fix anything is to get a lawyer to draft up a written request and somehow they find all the time in the world to come poorly fill the requests. Also the price is no longer what it was in 2016. They have gone up like the majority of the Indianapolis market, $700.00 and up, along with all their little fees and trust me its not worth it. You are on 38 keystone basically, where the crime rate has steadily risen with no sign of a decline in sight. I hear police sirens at least 3x week and there seems to be some shady characters hiding out by the trash bins at night. My neighbors who have been here for over 10yrs are now deciding not to renew their lease for 2018. People have been running out of here left and right. Also, you cannot rent out the clubhouse, so when you go in, don't let the fancy clubhouse be a selling point for you because you will not be able to use it. With this being said, although the landscaping is nice and the apartments are quiet, for the price of the unit, the lack of action to fix work orders and fix them properly ( I have had to call about certain things more than 3x after they apparently had been fixed), and the overall age of the unit, I will be looking else where to live when my lease is up.
First the rent for size is great especially when you consider water and gas heat are free. Could use more utility style closet space as the water heater, washer and dryer, and blower/furnace units take up anything that was there, but the living/dining area is open, the bedrooms are large, we usually don't hear a lot from the neighbors, and maintenance is quick with most things especially smaller ones. I've been here almost 2 years and the only real complaint I'd give is the traffic since coming from downtown has to deal with either I-70, Keystone, or Fall Creek and they're all a PITA come rush-hour.
I finally received peace when I move into my first new apartment . As a recent graduate of IU. I was searching all over to find the best place for me. I found it here in a hidden spot. A spot of peace and comfort but it's always great to have a place you can call home
I love my apartment!! Staff is very helpful and the grounds are taken care of completely. It's close to grocery store, gas station, movie theater, shopping and many restaurants. There is a large pool w/lounge chairs & a large club house. I'm retired and live alone, so it's perfect for me. It's an amazing place to live!! My daughter lived with me until she passed away from cancer! Miss her so much!
I have not lived in an apartment for 30 yrs, but this is the 1st time I have known the owners and management to have a Christmas party. There also was food, refreshments and great prizes/gifts. Thank you to management and staff. I enjoyed and appreciated.
