Harlow

I've been living here for some time and while the location is amazing the building and it's management leave a lot to be desired. Some observations: * There have been multiple water shutoffs with little notice sometimes lasting days. The only thing given to us was some bottled water. Typically nicer buildings will put affected tenants in a hotel. * A constant smell of sulfur which is likely sewer gas leaking somewhere. Complaints have largely been dismissed. If they are doing something about it - it hasn't been communicated. * Cheap construction and material so you are guaranteed to hear your neighbors. * X-Rayed the building (maybe because of the prior two points - who knows!) and did not relocate tenants - just told they had to leave their units. * Unsecured premises leading to thefts in the parking garage. All of this while paying the prices of a "luxury" apartment in a building that is not rent controlled. If you want to be in Culver City - try looking at the smaller units and houses in neighborhoods between Jefferson and Culver. If that doesn't work, you'll probably get more bang for you buck in Palms north of Venice.

Great location, management team is OK, but there is a smell throughout this building that is simply gross. They don't give any detail as to what the smell is or where it's coming from - its a sewage issue - but its absolutely rancid and the tenants suffer. For the rent this property group charges, it's not worth it.

I would definitely recommend this apartment community. Great staff with great service from everyone including managers, security and service people.

I love the Harlow community all the staff is friendly and the building is super clean, the order for services were filled right away. I would recommend the Harlow!!

Staff has been amazing thus far, by far the best apartment management I've experienced thus far. My only complaint is the noise insulation, which is not a fault of the staff.

My understanding is that this is a tobacco free building, however the previous tenant clearly smoked in the unit - the smell persists after airing it out for more than a month, even after the office staff were thoughtful enough to change the carpets. Also on occasion I can smell tobacco from a neighbor smoking on their patio.

The community is new and modern with great service. Moe has been more than helpful and made our move easy.

The only thing I would caution potential residents about is the poor construction (thin floors/walls). Every neighbor I had above me walked like an elephant on parade. It was horrible if they weren?t on my sleeping schedule.

All the team at harlow is amazing, they all are friendly and respectful. They all remember the name of my doggie and ask about how do we like living here.

Excellent Staff in place from the front office through the maintenance, to cleaning. I do not like the name tags!

Service is great. But the amenities do not reflect the price of rent. There is barely a gym. Restaurants attached to building are not amenities as there are many better options within walking distance.

My girlfriend and I were one of the first to lease a 1 bedroom here. Pros: Located on Washington Blvd, Harlow is a quick walk from Trader Joe's, Arclight movie theater and the restaurants on Main Street. There are 2 restaurants (Le Pain Quotidian and Burger Lounge) already open on the first floor and Seasalt Fish Grill & Roc Dumpling House opening soon. The gym is pretty nice with brand new machines, treadmills, a spin bike, and free weights. Very tight security and parking system. Staff is great and got to know us. Great appliances. Cons: Entire apartment and especially bedroom has minimal lighting, just one small window. A/C wasn't working for awhile but it got fixed. Very minimal storage, closet, and cabinet space in the small apartment! Extremely expensive, even for LA and Culver City, no pool.
