Property Ratings at Harrison Park Towers
Harrison Towers is located exactly at the border of the townships of New Brunswick and Somerset at the crossing between Easton Avenue and Landing Lane. As a tenant of this apartment for the last 9 years, I know quiet a bit about the apartment qualities and the area in general. It is always easy for prospective renters to evaluate what they exactly want if the pros and cons are summarized as bullet points and I'm going to do the same here: Pros: 1. Multi-storied (21) apartment with concrete walls, which increases sound and weather insulation. So not much of a problem with creaking floors or people stomping above your head or the neighboring couple having a fight unless you have the ears of a bat. 2. Helpful and friendly building management, porters and staff who are most of the time prompt with the services and addressing your complaints. 3. Location: 2 miles away from the New Brunswick Train station. A mile away from stop and shop, K mart, Wendy's, Burger king, Subway and popular Diners and Restaurants. Less than 2 miles away from the College Avenue and Busch Campuses (Rutgers University). Walking distance to St. Peters Hospital and about 2 miles from Robert Wood Johnson and Cancer Institute of NJ. So ideal place for Rutgers Graduate students and doctors. In fact most of the tenants are them. 4. Spacious rooms, with balcony and ample air and sun. No significant bug or roach problems, water issues. Designated parking and covered garage spaces available. Free gym, which is reasonably well maintained. 5. The neighborhood is nice and if you are a nature and football lover, you'd love to stay in this area. There are two big parks and the Rutgers football stadium just 5-10 minutes walk away. Cons: 1. The building is located at an intersection which has bumper to bumper traffic during weekday rush hours. To merge on to Easton Avenue you have to take a left turn at the intersection which literally takes an average waiting time of 3-5 minutes. So if you're always late for office or an impatient driver, think twice before renting this place. Accidents involving such impatient people are fairly common. 2. Old heating and cooling units in some apartments.Peak winters will result in humongous energy bills, and I mean outrageously humongous. 3. Only 10 visitor parking and no street parking nearby 4. If the elevators break down, you wish you'd know how to fly. 5. Laundry room is usually crowded during the weekends which may be a bother.
