Roughly halfway between Topeka and Kansas City along I-70, Lawrence is a city teeming with character and appeal. The University of Kansas is the city’s most obvious feature, and Lawrence is undeniably a college town. As a result, the community has a distinctly cosmopolitan vibe, with a lively academic population, thriving arts and entertainment scene, and strong downtown nightlife.
The music scene in particular has been widely recognized as the best in the region, with national headliners passing through on a regular basis and local artists creating music of every genre. Outdoor attractions abound as well, with Clinton Lake, Lawrence Nature Park, and Kansas Riverfront Park all drawing locals regularly. Clinton State Park hosts the popular Wakarusa Music and Camping Festival, a regional favorite that is often compared to larger events like Tennessee’s Bonnaroo.
Lawrence houses an endless variety of rental options.

Property Ratings at Harvard Square Apartments
Our boys stayed there and paid rent on time every month for3 years. When the boys moved out and returned the apartment in pristine condition, it took us calling the office multiple times for 3 months asking about getting our deposit back. Each time we called, we got the run around, promising their supervisor would call us back and never did. Who has the time to keep calling weekly over something that should take 1 day. There was also a water leak in the window that they never came to fix and ruined our area rug.
The apartment, when we moved in (2 days after our intended move in date) was not ready. The carpet was still wet. There were still holes in the wall. The walls had yet to be painted. We ended up being charged at the end of our lease to have the walls painted and fixed. When I was showed the apartment, the landlord did not notify the tenant, a trend that followed after we announced that we were not staying. We were also never notified about maintenance visits. The maintenance people, who wasn't the landlord, just waltzed in. The landlord was never helpful not pleasant to speak to. I cannot stress enough, do not live here.
