Property Ratings at Hatcher Tobacco Flats
When i first contacted this location i was already worn down by other housing developments giving me the run around and staging their properties to look better online than in person. Upon Arriving on the property i was pleased by how well kept and similar to the web page it looked. On top of that the Staff were understanding, clear with their presentation of the units, and polite on all levels. They turned was seemed like a painful experience into one that was effortless and informative. i highly recommend at least stopping by and seeing for yourself. youll never want to leave.
No one ever answers the phone or returns calls. Called through the apartments.com website number and FINALLY got someone after 3 months of trying. Was told they had units available and to come in the morning to fill out an application. Arrived the next morning there was a lady behind the desk and 4 gentleman in the office. All just stared at me so I sat down. One guy asked could he help me (not in the nicest tone as if I was bothering them) I stated what I was there for and with an attitude I was told "oh well we don't have anything available" I explained I was told to come in this morning and again with an attitude was told oh well other people came before u and were fully rented. TERRIBLE impression and customer service
Current tenant. They erroneously glued a parking citation sticker to my car. When I took pictures and proved they were wrong, they sent workers out to remove the sticker and scratched up my car in the process. Stay away, seriously. This is one of many incidents we've dealt with involving Genesis Properties.
Make sure you ask probing questions before moving in; meaning don't just sit with the answer of yes you will have free internet and cable because they fail to mention you have to pay for any additional cable boxes used because one comes with the apt and the Internet is not wifi unless you provide your own modem! Also parking is ridiculous, they expect you to pay to park but only can park from 6pm-8am which is pretty inconvenient for someone who doesn't work during the day! Elevator always is out of service so not good for anyone who is disabled and there is no other access in unless you take the steps! They give misinformation on a daily basis so if you do not ask questions everyday you're likely to lose out on something! Brandon is very rude and unprofessional and will give you a smart answer as if you asked a rhetorical question! The inside is nice!
Hatcher Tabacco flats are very unorganized and the staff is useless. They constantly give you the run around. Not to mention one of the property managers, Brandon is very rude, unprofessional, and misinforming.
GenesisProperties is a joke. Staff is unknowledgeable, rude, literally worthless. Hatcher Tobacco project was planned to be completed a year ago, been dragging people along for a move in date. The property mngr decided to go on vaca instead of reply to ppl who need to know where they will be living. Mary, the secretary, is useless and can barely tell you how to get into the building, and Brandon will never return your messages. None of them have any idea what theyre doing. Decided to go to Commerce Lofts instead. Much happier!
