Outstanding cozy townhome with all the amenities and great maintenance team. We move in on September 1, 2024 to a newly repainted and super clean townhome. Our 3 bedroom, 1.5 bath unit is perfect for the two of us. Having a full-sized washer and dryer in the half bath is great. The kitchen appliances all work well, and the 5-burner gas stove is fantastic. We can walk to everything on the rail trail network: parks, groceries, doctors, dentists, hospital, parks, restaurants, and downtown Northampton. The maintenance team is friendly, responsive, and amazing! Very glad to call this our home!

The only thing luxury about Hathaway Farms is the rent : The windows and plumbing are from the 1970's The North side of the complex borders the Northampton Housing Authority projects, and can be noisy especially during the Summer. Avoid that whole side. The walls between apartments are not sound proofed, at all. If you have a loud neighbor, you will be uncomfortable. Fridays during the Summer expect mowing and blowing noise all day starting around 7:30AM, which is a real nuisance if you work from home. Dumpster area is gross. Don't rent near it! Rent increase during the pandemic has been unreasonable. Also, if you cannot sign an additional year lease expect to be demanded to pay an exorbitant month to month rent. Perhaps, if you expect to stay an additional year the Landlord will put in writing a reasonable rent increase and/or month to month rent increase before signing lease and moving in? The employees in the office, and maintenance staff are excellent. It's one of the few positive aspects of Hathaway Farms. However, a number of maintenance staff have left and have not been replaced. So the maintenance crew seems very stressed. Overall, our experience over was unsatisfactory. So we left.

Our devoted team strives to give all of our residents the best living experience and apologize that we could not provide that for you.
Living here for 5 years has been a dream. The entire staff know me by first name and vis-a-versa. Maintenance -no problem; things are generally fixed the next day! My 3-BR townhouse is filled with light from the extra large windows, yet offered wonderful privacy by mature shrubbery and trees (my cat is a window sitter and loves to watch "our" squirrels). Rooms are spacious, love my 5 burner gas stove, and the trim work around doors and windows is well above standard. Closet space and storage is more than ample. This is luxury design and living. Gas heat forced air and dryer are blessings.

This apartment complex used to be full of families, quiet, and the rent was reasonable (although still on the high side). Just this year they have implemented a 25% rent increase, which increases rent on a 2 bedroom by $500. My neighbors and I are quickly moving out - you see good families leaving every day. Even if you are willing to pay an exorbitant amount of money for rent, know that the apartments marked luxury are just "lipstick on a pig," the crappy structure just being given a fresh coat of paint (that chips). The dumpster situation is ridiculous, it is always overflowing with trash, it smells, and there are tons of animals crawling around in it. Don't rent here.

Lived here for a year and a half until I bought a house and moved out or I would have stayed longer. Enjoyed my time here greatly! First off, the location is fantastic. Close to a ton of things to do and great restaurants right down the road in the lovely center of Northampton. You are far enough away however where you can feel private and relaxed. Perfect middle ground. You can easily ride or walk to the bike path from your front door with 20 plus miles of beautiful scenery. Besides that the apartments are very nice. Ton of natural lighting. The landscaping is top notch. The customer service is second to none. Extremely courteous and accommodating. You won't go wrong choosing Hathaway Farms!

I spent six years at Hathaway Farms and really enjoyed my time there. The grounds are beautiful with plenty of trees, shrubs, sun and grass. The people who work there are friendly and courteous. The location is convenient and tucked away in the middle of Northampton. You literally do not know it's there. Highly Recommended!

As a new widow, I moved to Northampton from the state of GA to be close to my daughter and grandchildren. From the first phone call with Erin to inquire about the facility, up to my moving day, everyone was so helpful. My apartment had been freshly painted and the appliances were all new. I’ve never lived in a snowy climate before so it was an interesting experience for my first winter. The guys who plow the parking lots and entrance road were also a great assistance to me. I happened to have a nice view from my apartment windows and the grounds were always well maintained. The reason I’m giving Hathaway 4 stars is because they raise the rent every year. Unfortunately, on my budget I couldn’t afford to stay there. I miss not being close to everything I needed; grocery, pharmacy, hospital, town center, etc.

My wife and I moved here a year and a half ago and we truly enjoy this place. There is plenty of privacy and the maintenance team is outstanding. We love the convenient location, it is right around the corner to downtown but you would never know it living here. Thank you Hathaway Farms.
We've stayed at Hathaway Farms for nearly 16 months now. We really loved it when we moved in and though we still like the place, the grievances we have just seem to be adding up. The rent has gone up significantly and is not worth the rent anymore. The appliances are old and broken and so is the heating system. The dish washer is rusted and breaking up. The refrigerator is old and gives problems all the time. The staff is nice and they are always on site but they only come up with temporary fixes for the appliances or for anything we call them for. For the rent the residents pay, the management should at least replace the old appliances with newer ones. I know 4 residents who left Hathaway Farms in the past 12 months for this reason. We might be next. Our neighbor is also done with them. If you decide to move here, I will recommend you get all the appliances changed - the dish washer, the oven, check the washer/dryer if you rent that from the management, the refrigerator and also the carpets. Get the windows checked for any leaks because it will never get fixed later. Again, the staff is nice and so is the community and its close to everything but it is has been a frustrating experience so far. Considering all the grievances, the rent should be at least $500 lower than what they ask for. Recommendation for the management - Stop coming up with temporary fixes and please replace the appliances.

I moved to Northampton from out-of-state and chose to live at Hathaway Farms. My experience living here was very pleasant and easy, especially appreciated after making a big move and with starting a new job. My apartment was large, and the staff was immediately helpful with any concerns. Hathaway Farms staff are all obviously invested in offering a warm, friendly atmosphere. The grounds are gorgeous to come home to, as the plantings are plentiful, colorful, and well-attended. All shoveling and plowing are taken care of at the first opportunity after a snowfall - sometimes even during the snowfall! It was important to me to have the options of 1 or 2 air conditioning units and a washer/dryer in my apartment. It was difficult to find apartments in Northampton that allow dogs, so I was grateful to find an apartment complex that was well-kept, safe, and dog-friendly. Stores, banks, etc. are all within a short drive, and there is easy access to the highway. Hathaway Farms contributed to my great first year here in Massachusetts by offering me a care-free, lovely, and friendly place to live!
Hathaway Farms apartments are adequate and well kept. The management and maintenance staff are attentive. Slightly, expensive. Reasonable choice for Northampton.
In the competitive Northampton apartment market, few rental places take pets. Hathaway is one that does, but you pay for it. Literally, with $50/mo dog charge and $25/mo cat charge, but also in the base lease price. They get away with charging more because there are few other options for pet owners. On the pro side, they have a fantastic maintenance crew who respond quickly and generally keep the grounds lovely. Snow removal and parking lots are other perks. Very convenient to everything in town, easy highway access, etc.
These are perfect townhome style apartments that offer convenience of location with the downtown just minutes away. The common areas are well maintained and the landscaping is phenomenal with beautiful flowers and lush green grass during spring and summer. The staff is polite, courteous and exceptional at the service they provide. Unlike other apartments in this area, these apartments are very spacious by design and provide a comforting experience as if you were in your home and not a rented apartment. Sushil Keswani
