Also known as Overbrook Park, Overbook is filled with lush parks and tree-lined streets that sets it apart from the urban flair Philadelphia is known for. Haddington Woods and the Karakung Golf Course dominates the western portion of the neighborhood while Morris Park is located in the center of Overbook and is great for hiking. Along with access to several parks, Overbrook is also home to Saint Joseph’s University. Rentals in Overbook are typically more affordable compared to other neighborhoods in the city, but there are upscale options available as well. The neighborhood boasts a variety of styles including charming rowhouses and renovated loft apartments. Property Ratings at Haverford Court
Management is terrible. They have terrible customer service. No empathy, do not care about tenants. Worse experience!!!
I would not recommend this apartment building. Something is wrong with the management. I scheduled a tour to see an apartment and showed up for the tour. I went the office to be buzzed in. The manager who is a woman came out the office in the lobby looked at me and walked right off. I called the office more than one time and she would not answer. Not only that she came into the lobby to get something and walked off again even after I knocked on the door. This woman is disrespectful. I wonder if it is because I am younger. And if so that would be discriminating. It was a waste of time, because I had to leave me good job to come to this. If she can do that, then how else would she have treated me as a tenant. By the way I know this neighborhood very well and there has been a rise in crime including a robbery with a gun on a nice little lady who owned a bakery up the street. I would think twice. You were warned
Haverford Court was the first apartment on my list of apartments to visit during my search. After my first visit I grudgingly saw two more, but was fixated on settling at HCA. I subsequenly returned and submitted my application. The Manager MR is rather delightful and easy to talk to, the staff are always cordial. My reasons for moving here were many and HCA did no disappoint. They've thought about everything you'd need in your home. There's a heat-lamp in the bathroom (ideal during the winter). The rooms are spacious with loads of closet space, (I moved from a three-floor home into a one-bedroom apartment), you're conveniently near most things, ShopRite a 5 min. drive; Giant about 10 mins. Ross, TJ Maxx, CVS, McDonalds, Applebees, Credit Union, Carwash and more are conveniently nearby. There's a Library on the same block, with the 31 & 106 bus stopping right outside the Complex. The 69th Street Station is a mere 10 mins. away, from there you can transfer to the Regional Rail, El, Trolley or Bus service into the City. The moment you step into the foyer you can feel an air of safety. There's a dial-up entry system that connects to your cellphone. If I could change or add one dimension that would be to have my own washer and dryer in my apartment, however, there is washer and dryer availability on each floor, which I appreciate not having to leave the premises. If you'd like to go for a bike ride, HCA participates in the bike share program. Just let the office know of your desire to utilize this service. There's ample parking. The pool which is opened throughout the summer has an on-duty lifeguard. The gym is well lit, with update-to-date equipment in good condition. Each apartment has a balcony - the inner apartments face the court yard or pool area, while the outer apartments face the road or parking lot. There's a bullentin-board on which monthly activities are posted for residents to participate/attend. All in all I'm enjoying my new digs.
GREAT place to live pet friendly with Great units and amenities.
This building is like a "resort" as my best friend told everyone after her first visit. It has all of the amenities of a vacation resort with affordable living. Two adjoining balcony style apartment buildings house an enclosed courtyard with a large pool equipped with a daily lifeguard and lounge chairs and sundeck. There are two gyms with modern exercise equipment, instructions for use of all equipment along with posted use and safety manuals. The large community room is fully furnished with stove, refrigerator, cabinets ,entertainment media(big screen TV) and ample seating for more than 25 people for special events. The grounds are beautifully maintained in all seasons and staff is friendly, social and helpful. There is plenty of off-street parking. In a quiet suburban-like area with popular food chain, local shops and a mall within walking distance - TJ Maxx, Ross' Apple bees- Rita's water ice - hair salons, nail salons, delis, shoe stores, computer stores- all of the luxuries of a mini mall. Also within walking distance are neighboring parks and picnic areas. Area is easily accessible by local public transportation.
Newly renovated great amenities pet friendly wonderful environment!
I vote Haverford court one of the best places to live because of the management. I have never lived in an apartment where they are so accommodating, they notice you and they give back to their tenants and their families. Your not just a rent payer here, your apart of a community. Its a pleasure to live here knowing that they try to create a comfortable living experience by constantly upgrading the building, cleaning the grounds, being available to you, listening to your concerns (if any)and always keeping you updated on any changes In the building or their staff. The amenities include two workout rooms, washer and dryer on each floor (not in the units), a park in the middle of the building for cooking out or "safe" dog walking and a nice size pool with on duty life guards. There are alot of places to eat close by along with a library and water ice stand on the corner (kid friendly area). Its close to a main street City Line Ave which can get you into center city in 30 min by car, along with public transportation all around the building. They are pet friendly, with the buzz in your guest factor and every unit has its own balcony. I rate Haverford Court one of the top places to live because it's a comfortable, safe, clean, environment with positive people living and working here.
