Greensburg has a history dating back to the resolution of the American Revolutionary War, taking its name from Continental Army Major General Nathanael Greene. The county seat of Westmoreland County, Greensburg sits roughly 30 miles southwest of Pittsburgh within the Laurel Highlands, with a vibrant cultural scene in a picturesque small-town environment.
Renting in Greensburg affords you the opportunity to sample an array of cafes, restaurants, shops, and bars in the historic downtown district. You’ll also have the option to catch a performance at the Palace Theatre, peruse the exhibits in the Westmoreland Museum of American Art, discover the retail offerings at Westmoreland Mall, hike the Five Star Trail, and attend the Summer Sounds Concert Series at Saint Clair Park. Should you crave the bustle of a larger city, Pittsburgh is just an hour’s drive away.

Property Ratings at Hawksworth Gardens
The stairways and railings are repainted consistently along with the parking lots being repaved, but it's a hassle to get everyone to cooperate and move their cars. The cleaning ladies are so sweet and work hard to sanitize apartments for new tenants and make everything else sparkle! One big issue is privacy which is why we put a slide bolt on our front door. Even then, we'd notice the deadbolt locked when we come home even though we only locked the doorknob. Many neighbors we grew fond of shared similar stories, some saying they noticed things clearly missing from their apartment. So, be weary of that although I'm sure the constant complaints have brought about some discipline over their staff by now. There are yearly HUD inspections, but the complex managers do their own prior to these. You get a paper with a day saying when they'll stop by, but even then they might decide to skip you altogether without notice so you've stressed yourself out getting ready for it just for them to not show up. I'm glad they finally upgraded the night lights around the grounds and installed security cameras. It feels a lot more safe than it did a few years back. As a final note, Hawksworth has gotten much better after recently putting more money into upkeep and upgrades. Most of the residents have lived there for years and camp like hawks at their little smoking areas, but there's always a good conversation to be had. They've definitely lifted this place out of it's previously terrible reputation.
The Staff Are Kinda Nice The Apartments Are Great But The Noise Is The Only Problem And The
I have heard nothing but bad things about the place. The apts are nice but being the place is low income housing, the police are always there. Drugs are rampant. People are afraid while living there. Riff raff dwelling.
I have lived in Hawksworth when i was a little kid from baby to 9 years old. I will forever remember all the good things that happened there, it is a good community alot of the people there are friendly the park is fun and I loved the breakfast that was served on the right park and when my friends and i were done we went over to the left park and slid down the purple dinosaur and hangout in the pirate ship even though my older brother once lit a fire in it with his friend its still very fun. The spining ladybug thing was one of my favorites at the left park i used to play bakugan with my friends. Sorry im not good with punctuation but what i really mean is the place is nice and beautiful. -Jake Calabrese
