Property Ratings at Hawthorne at Kennesaw
While the maintenance department does a great job responding to and fixing issues with the apartments themselves, many of the outdoor amenities are very neglecting. The charcoal grills are down-right nasty, needing immediate replacement and the gas grills are on the very last leg. The tennis court has significant cracking that management doesn’t appear to care about sealing and only two of the six lights work, despite multiple tenants requesting that they be repaired. The tennis court trash cans haven’t been emptied in weeks. The car was station has a cheap garden house with low pressure to wash with and the auto vacuum has a half-baked repair to the electrical switch that has a note to keep turning on and off and it will eventually work. If you don’t care about outdoor amenities, this place is fine but for the money, these amenities should be well taken care of.

If you are thinking about moving here, don’t. They had a series of car break-ins on 11/8 and said they aren’t accommodating residents although it is technically their fault since the gate was left open. They said they had to open the gate because their phones were down, well that’s not my problem. The gate is always open at some point. Sad excuse for management, especially when you pay your rent on time every month.

We really enjoy living here, this is our first apartment and we could not be happier. We looked at several apartments and felt that Hawthorne at Kennesaw was the best fit for us. Just moved in and love it here so far! Great property & spacious apartment! The staff is so amazing and helpful! We have lived here for 6 months and we absolutely love it! The staff is amazing, any issues are taken care of quicklly. It’s very quiet here. The staff has many parties and get-togethers for us to get to know our neighbors.

If you want to move to a place that is so noisy you will have no peace, this is your place. If you complain, little is done and YOU will be made to feel like it is all your fault. I wanted to move 2 days after I arrived, but it took me a while to find a place. Once they knew I was moving, the noise continued and each time I said something, I was marginalized. I heard my neighbor threaten his wife in the parking lot and I called the police. The entire incident, along with the many other noise complaints, made me realize that all of the office's placating behavior wouldn't change. They kept telling me that they had never had complaints such as mine before. They behaved as if I had made it all up. I called the corporate office after I moved out and did so on 9/5. They NEVER called me back. They also lied and told me that if I didn't hear back from them after 5 phone calls, that I should call them back. I did and did and did....to no avail. I had to spend my own money to move, 4 months after I arrived. If they had made any serious effort to fix the problem, I wouldn't have had to do that. Leases require that tenants are entitled to reasonable quietude...that simply wasn't the case. I got my deposit back, which, in my opinion, was what they should have done. I held off sending this review, hoping that I wouldn't have to, particularly knowing they don't care that I had to spend nearly $800 to move. I will say that their maintenance isn't too bad, even though I had to have a sink replaced several times and it kept oozing the entire time. Think seriously before signing a lease and don't let the "nice" office staff be the only reason you entertain moving here. They function under corporate policy and I encourage you to read your lease and make them enforce those things that you are entitled to. The corporate office should be ashamed of themselves, particularly their regional manager. His "gatekeeper" could have ameliorated this...she didn't.
My wife and I have been living here for about six months now and we really like it. It took me a while for me to get used to the environment because the last place that I lived in wasn't a community focused apartment complex. To really appreciate and enjoy Hawthorne you have to take advantage of everything that is here. For a while I just came home and I actually forgotten about the tennis courts, leasing office/clubhouse, etc. There is always a time for you to meet new neighbors here as the leasing staff do a great job of organizing events for the whole community. As far as the apartment, I haven't seen one roach, cockroach, cricket, spider, ant....at all! We do/did have sort of a pet waste control problem but with the new procedures in place things have been better since. Our apartment is large and have plenty of storage. The only downside is that KSU students live here- but this is something that you probably will never get around of since this place is close to KSU. We have neighbors above us that we can't stand but I am sure they won't be here much longer. They don't seem to care that there are real families that live here. The clubhouse is nice and the pool is open year round. The staff is very friendly!! Overall, very good place to live.
Ok I'm sure there are many other great reviews out there for theis place but I just have to "chime in" with my take, so here goes! Never in my adult life have I experienced such a consistently great experience as living at the Hawthorne at KENNESAW apartment community. 6 years ago I read a ton of reviews. The one review that convinced me was the one from a resident manager who lived here and was the manager for another complex. She raved about the superior maintenance here, and the response of the management office. Plus she remarked about the noise level and security & peace officer on premises. She also remarked on how nice her neighbors were! And so 6 years later, I have to agree that everything she said has been the truth! Other companies have come and gone but the high level of professionalism is the hallmark of my experience! Let's face it - people make the difference. It's the people in our management office who have gone above and beyond to fulfill the obligations that this community promises to provide in exchange for the rent they charge. I have never in 6 years been disappointed. There are people I want to highlight such as Jillian a leading leasing consultant who has worked tirelessly to keep residents happy and always answers the phone! Just knowing that the office is attentive and responsive during any given day is huge!!! Good management depends on people with integrity and good character and she possesses both! Lisa and Stephanie as manager and assistant have high levels of management skill sets as well with the ever increasing demands in the marketplace to keep this property competitive! Yet with the grace and poise that is essential in handling all kinds of "sticky situations", they perform their duties exceptionally well and always in keeping with the customary discretion of executives. Lauren as well is prompt and friendly with all the residents, and is the friendliest face to the community! How do I know all this? Well I've had some health setbacks. I've needed to reach out to the office for occasional assistance. They have always helped, so when I say they have gone above and beyond, I know personally, so this is a trustworthy group! Lastly and very importantly, as a resident I cannot ask for better maintenance from Jerry and Kevin! These two guys are fantastic and exceptional in their service to this community and are loved by everyone! Hoorah for Hawthorne! The only place I want to live!
