The Luxe 2/2 are my favorite options. Great location and really pet friendly. The office staff is so helpful and the property is well maintained. The 3 dog parks and pickleball courts are awesome, and we love the weekly events. Highly recommend.

I am happy to live at Hawthorne at Southside. It is very close to work, the dogs love the three dog parks onsite, and the staff is super duper nice.

I have enjoyed living here. The tennis courts have just been resurfaced and we have enjoyed playing. The staff is always really friendly and knowledgeable. I prefer a townhome and they are far more affordable than any other options in Asheville. I like the convenience to the parkway and interstates and the restaurants in the area. Having Publix within walking distance is a great perk.

If you want to have a pleasant experience while living here you need to be ok with paying way too much money for a building that’s cheaply built, live on the 3rd floor, and pray to god no one moves in beside you. Saying that the walls are paper thin is an understatement. I wish we never moved here. If it seems too good to be true it probably is. We moved out May 30th and received a letter in the mail stating we owe them $800. They are saying that we need a full carpet replacement that costs over $900 for a small stain in the living room and one of the three bedrooms. Apparently the stain is too deep to clean HOWEVER they made no attempt to clean the stain and they’re giving us 10 days to pay the $800 or they’re sending it to collections. Complete rip off. They absolutely don’t give two craps about you.

To be perfectly honest, we were not fully satisfied with our experience at Hawthorne. The older units, while renovated, are not worth their price due to visible cracks in walls, mold and water damage in the bathrooms, drafty windowsills and door frames that make utilities skyrocket. Too many times we experienced cold showers and were awoken by noise from neighbors due to almost no notable noise barrier between floors. The staff were more than gracious and helpful, however, making up for the overpriced nature of the older units. It was average, at most, for their excellent location. I would caution about considering moving into one of the newer units, instead.
Large Dog owners, re-think renting with this "dog friendly" company. There are several attractive amenities for dog owners, but the high fees and the lousy front office staff outweigh the benefits! We were placed in a town-home next to a man who works at night and sleeps during the day and is a known repeat noise complainant! TWO days after we moved in (On mine and my husband's first days of work) I received not a phone call, but an email telling me I needed to come up with a resolution for my dog's consistent barking within another 3 days. No mention of giving the dogs time to adjust to a new environment, or that the real issue was that my neighbor sleeps during the day, I had to find that out on my own. The description of consistent barking all day and several neighbors complaining have been used frequently since we moved in in March, and neither is accurate. It is one person complaining, my next door neighbor, and the front office has never once validated the complaints, instead they suggested we buy a collar that will shock the dog when it barks or a device that emits a sound to deter barking (a device that does not work!). I know for a fact that they do not bark all day, they bark occasionally when they hear loud sounds. The office is now threatening to charge a fee for noise complaints. They will gladly transfer us from this town-home to another, if we pay the exorbitant transfer fee. Instead these geniuses should never have placed us next to this family! And they also need to validate complaints and work with the dog owners who they target in their advertising! Dogs bark! I hear them here all the time, every day, maybe I should start calling in complaints in every time I hear it! They have made us feel unwelcome, frustrated, and at our wits end with the complaints and with no support on their part! They are sweet as can be while they lure you in, but once you have signed a lease they will treat you as the disposable tenant you are! We cannot wait to leave Hawthorne at Southside!!!!!!
The pictures are not at all what the apartments look like....the ones pictured are from the new development not even finished. I toured this property and although the amenities were nice the pricing wasn't accurate. The girl told me $15 for the dog with a 300 deposit. Online it says $10 and $250. Your website should match. The leasing officer couldn't tell me if they could honor it!! They can't honor what's on their own website?!? Insane. There is a severe lack of communication too. I had to call many times and leave multiple messages and no one called me back. I took my money elsewhere.
Overpriced for the location. It's directly adjacent to a shopping center parking lot and a very busy intersection. The leasing agent was very nice. If it were cheaper I might not have looked elsewhere. For the money. Meh. Not really worth it. Perhaps if it actually looked like the very idealistic computer image on the listing. It doesn't though. Pretty far from it actually.
Make sure that you view the specific property you will be leasing. While I do believe some of them are very nice some of the one-bedrooms are shabbier than they appear in pictures.
This apartment is something Goldie Locks would love- it's juuuuust right! My one-bedroom apartment has got a great, open floor plan, nice big rooms, and plenty of storage space. No more than I need, no less. It's just perfect! Plus the welcoming, inclusive community really turns it from a 'house' into a 'home'.
