Property Ratings at Hawthorne Living
Management kept changing, maintenance never came to repair or help Rodent infested the apartment along with sink flies and Bot fly who bit my dog on his neck causing big inflation
My family and I have lived in this same apartment for 8 years and the managers, new or old, could care less about how run-down our apartment is. We have had a cockroach infestation for YEARS, insects are everywhere, the most they do about it is spray something in our kitchen then leave. Every time (because this has happened multiple times) our oven breaks they give us a “new” defective one. The corner of our BEDROOM is cracked all the way down the wall, you can see on the inside of our ceiling. Again we have been residents for 8 years, consistent with rent and this is how they will treat you.
Great place to live and responsive maintenance staff. I’ve been here for 2 years and I don’t have a single complaint. I love that they accommodate pets.
Way too expensive for no welcoming security. A lot of leaks. They keep going higher and higher for rent as if it’s luxuries apartments. Balconies need updating as well as ceilings and bathrooms. They won’t change anything but they will raise rent faithfully
Spacious apartment for the money. Leon in maintenance is spot on. Renee and Management are pleasant and easy to work with
Pay an extra $100 for rent and live somewhere else. This place is not worth your money. Bad neighborhood and bad management. Buildings are old and poorly maintained. You will regret living here. Believe me.
Maintenance staff is attentive and will try to fix any issues the best of their ability. Dennis from maintenance went above and beyond to try and fix the problem and since he realized he wasn't able to fix the problem he made sure to report it to management and get the people that were able to.
not really worth the price only amenity is a pool but the apt comes with loud neighbors and roaches. Management does nothing to upgrade apartments
Overall the complex is not a bad place to start the living on your own journey. Management is a little rough but the location is nice and the amenities the complex have are great, although the older units don’t have washers and dryers there are ones right outside your door within the same building. Overall would Consider recommending to a friend looking to see if apartment life is for them.
Maintenance staff is very attentive and will fix any issues the best of their ability. Desmond the electrician went above and beyond to make sure my household needs were met. Great service
everyone seems friendly. It’s nice for the most part. A bit pricey these days, but it serves its purpose well. If anyone truly, truly loved this place and manned to live here forever, I’d really like to know why. This place is was one of the least expensive on Long Island, but now it is a bit pricey.
I been living here for over 6 months and so far so good. Great communication with management. Only thing is some neighbors don’t have respect. Other than that nice place.
The Maintenance crew can be very helpful and quick with dealing with issues especially Alex at Hawthorne courts
Horrible. Falling apart, weeks to get maintenance. Lost heat more than once this winter. Neighbor had fire and blew out back side of windows. Took months to replace meanwhile the whole building is paying for heat going out the window. Phone calls, emails, no one ever calls back. Roaches in halls. Mice in winter. Noisy neighbors. Rent up 200 last year, this year up over 250 more! Nothing justifying the increase done to the apartments. Spend the extra money and go somewhere else!
The new management seems alright. They can be a little difficult to get in contact with, but they seem to handle everything rather quickly once you can get through to them
Terrible...maintenance sucks and now you are raising the rent another $200 so we will probably not be renewing our lease this coming year...not worth the $
Lately it's been hard to get repairs, and when they do it's incomplete, it seems like they are more interested in getting apartments ready for new tenents then the established ones.
There is no gated community here. The door locks rarely work. You pay for parking and still get stock without a spot near your home because people who aren't on the lease park in your area for free. Good luck getting a response from maintenance. There are about 2-3 guys for 400+ units. Property manager stays in offices sending out emails all week but won't reply to you or see you in person. For a mortgage payment you sure get the short end of the stick. RUN!

Take photos of issues not fixed, there are many. They blame the tenant for the reported issue. Staff changes quickly, many let go since 8/31/2022. They are deceptive and unfriendly.
Absolutely horrible. They have roaches. The doors are not locked so your safety becomes an issue. Your car will get towed even when you have a parking permit. Run. Do not lease here. There are so many better places. Management has an answer for everything. They just want your money.

We love the area and we have no complaints other then the maintenance. All we are asking is things are being looked into, some sort of response.
Wonderful community to live. Hawthorne Court has been upgrading the community to be a better environment for its staff and renters 100% would recommend.
Great staff, service and very nice apartments with great finishes
1. Small mice running around (literally had to catch one myself & it ran outside to the hallway) asked multiple times to get pest control & nothing 2. People in my building banding on walls , screaming as if someone is being murdered 3. People leaving their garbage outside their door stinking up the entire hallway 4. Management sucks - been having a broken sink for a year now , my fridge door handle has been broken for a year now as well … every time they come IM NOT HOME because I work even though I’ve told them the times I’m home 5. Rent bumped up even thought they can’t bother to fix issues 6. They were all nice & sweet when it was time to move & pay up .. but once you’re actually living here they could care less 7. Kids (grown kids) running up & down the hallway stairs & parents don’t even say anything (even when it’s 10pm) I cannot wait for this lease to be up so I can LEAVE I’m sure THERE ARE people who genuinely have a good experience , but definitely not me.
They are dealing fairly with their residents. Whatever you signed on the lease that what you're going to pay. They are not going to change their minds at the last minute to increase your rent so they could force you out involuntary. The staffs are pretty reliable.
Since Lincoln properties took over I have seen a number of improvements to the property and I continue to see progress. The office and maintenance staff are very professional with the tenants and they make you feel that they are there to be of service to you. Like we all are a part of this community.
Marijuana, gandia smoking eventough prohibited by Nassau County. Management needs to do more to upgrade the lifestyle.
The woman who gave us the guided tour was wonderful! She answer all her questions and then some. She was very patient and gave us a personal tour of their models and they were beautiful. Also the price was affordable.
The property management office is borderline useless and mean; rent increases are ridiculous; complex security is borderline negligent. Look elsewhere if you can.
I've been living in my unit for only about a month now and so far all of my fire alarms go off randomly, my sink leaks, my toilet keeps backing up as well as my tub. Additionally the washer dryer unit in the building has apparently been broken but since no sign was posted saying it was out of order it took all of my laundry card money
My apartment community is very clean I love it and yes I would definitely recommend to friends and family.
The convenience of it's location to shopping, banking, close to major roads. Rapid response to service requests, friendly neighbors, etc, also the recent updates to the community
I’d rather be homeless than have to ever deal with these people again. Left a $500 security deposit on an apartment back in September of last year that I did not end up taking and did not receive my deposit back until March of this year, at which point I received a check that I could not cash. Instead of rectifying the situation like any reputable business would, I’ve gotten nothing but the “run-around” and misinformation from them. If you want a massive headache, inquire about apartments at Hawthorne Court. Otherwise, a cardboard box on the side of the road would be a better option.
The apartment staff is excellent.
Staff has been very receptive. Community seems well maintained. Lots of upgrades happening now.
This is a friendly neighborhood, issues get taken care of in a timely manner, all of the staff (office and maintenance) are extremely helpful, the kitchens have a great amount of space for storing cooking equipment
It' a very nice spot very relaxing
Cockroaches and other types of roaches and bugs are present since the first week of moving in. The maintenance guy did come a few times to spray some treatment but I still see the roaches almost every day - yes, everyday.
YES
I have been here for 3 years. It’s not a bad place to love. There are a few bumps, but overall I would definitely encourage my friends.
staff was super comforting, i felt very welcomed walking in with no appointment and Alex was very helpful
I would recommend this development to more people if 1bedrooms and studios were more available.
Community like setting, friendly and quiet area. Close to stores and major highway. Maintenance were always prepared and timely manner always respectful.
I like the area but the repairs need to be done quicker
Rent goes up every year. Always under new management. Roach infested, bed bugs and mold! Apartment was old, no new carpet, appliances and balcony falling apart. I complained since the day I moved in, wish I would have seen the apartment before I moved in. No excuse to why Hawthorne court didn’t care to take note of complaints and make sure residents are happy. I just moved and now the “new management” is giving me a hard time. Returning the apartment the same way I received it. Will be pursuing a lawsuit if I don’t get my deposit back! Not to mention the dryer in the building didn’t work for more than 6 months, people smoking blunts in the hallways and hallways carpets are filthy!! Balcony falling apart and they want to charge you for things that aren’t your fault. Parking lots are overcrowded, no parking at night.
I would tell them to make sure they look carefulLy at the apartment and the carpet and see what things are included in the lease in terms of repainting
I like apartment complexes very friendly quiet the staff is is very humble and friendly the hospitality is very outstanding I truly would recommend this to family and friends
we are very happy you are people doing very good job
The parking is bad, you have cars that don't work and they take up vital parking for those who live there, most households had 3 or more cars. just not enough parking.
Very clean and the employees are very respectful and Residence
