Property Ratings at Hawthorne North Druid Hills
We were given under 24 hours notice for a waterline repair where the building would lose water at 10am. It's nearly 6pm, no updates, no water. I called the office for 4 hours, the line dropping constantly or no one picking up until nearly 5pm, only to say they have no idea, laugh at me when I inquired about how we were supposed to shower and use the bathroom, and began just repeating themselves until I hung up. This isn't the first issue. Mail room has break ins all the time, both gates will break and be down for weeks straight, dog park is filled with astroturf with no water source even in the summer, and if you want a roommate, you better have one before you sign the lease or they will refuse to allow anyone else to live with you! Partners included! The area is so nice, but the management is terrible and the place is overpriced. Don't bother.

Don’t waste your time! I've been calling this complex for a week, and not once was my call answered (first red flag). I finally just come in hoping to schedule a tour. I walk in the lady sitting there is on her phone, doesn’t look up, its only us in the office so I know she heard me greet her as I entered. She gets a call on said cell phone a few moments later, so I wait a few minutes for her to finish and acknowledge me standing there, she never does so I leave. I guess she doesn’t work off commission, but still horrible customer service. I’m glad this happened before I actually started the whole process. But I feel for the current and future residents if this is the treatment everyone receives at the place they call home.

The new management company terminated my lease after less than a year to “upgrade” my apartment. The upgrades were new counter tops and some discount Home Depot backsplash tile. Less than a year ago I moved into an otherwise completely renovated apartment. I am a medical school student who had to incur the expense of moving and the inconvenience. They did not return my one time pet deposit that would have other wise been for the remaining years I planned on staying. They are increasing rents on the “renovated” apartments by almost $400 a month. They will say it’s also because they added a microwave ($175 at Home Depot ) and a washer and drier but you can rent those for $40 a month. They are disorganized and the office staff does not communicate with each other. For the money, live ANYWHERE else.

If you are planning to move into this complex, just know that they are about to do some major renovations to the OUTSIDE of the apartment building. Sanding the whole complex down!! and then repainting, which will take a while I suppose. New management is BAD. There is no noise control. I'm moving out!

Quiet community near downtown but close to Emory, which I love. Maintenance is quick with work orders and the property stays immaculate. Leasing office staff is awesome and keeps residents abreast of any changes. Property manager Deontae is very professional and answers all my concerns. I can't say enough about this property.

Belara Apartments is perfect. What I like about Belara is that it's a small community, Another great think that I love is that it's gated, Another thing that I LOVE is the residents Garden. Out of all the apartments that I have been to , I have never seen a residents garden. Here, they have people planting grapes, tomatoes, flowers ect. Belara is an intimate property that reminds me of a park. Its picnic seating, Dog park, outdoor & indoor gym. I love it!
I have been a resident at the Belera Apartment for over a year and absolutely love it. The front staff at this property make you feel like family. They are very responsive with anything you might need. The new upgrades to the property are awesome. If you ever have an opportunity to view the property you won’t be disappointed. You can thank my later
Loved touring this community and looking forward to showing my roommates. They have a community garden and garages. The older feel with new finishes look excellent.
Great apartments! Property is very well kept! Maintenance has never been an issue. Most of my requests fixed within a few hours! I can't say enough about how friendly and professional maintenance and office staff have been during my time here. Leasing office is always quick to send out an email should anything happen on the property. Aside from my neighbors constantly breaking the entrance gate and cutting visitors off, I have no other complaints (gate usually fixed within a week). I've lived in Athens, Marietta, and midtown Atlanta and this remains my favorite apartment thus far. This place is home. Great value for price and location.
