Situated about 22 miles northeast of Downtown Sacramento, Orangevale is a quiet California suburb that bridges the pastoral beauty of Northern California with the urban convenience and beauty of Sacramento. Amenity-laden apartment complexes surrounded by towering palms keep the California aesthetic alive, but you’ll experience a lower cost of living in Orangevale than in the communities closer to Sacramento. Proximity to Folsom Lake and Lake Natoma means the beauty of the surrounding landscape is always present, and the ability to hike, boat, fish, and camp is possible at nearly all times of the year. Greenback Lane holds most of Orangevale’s restaurant and retail offerings, and the neighboring cities of Citrus Heights and Folsom provide even more opportunity for shopping and entertainment.

Property Ratings at Hazel Wood Apartments
For me being a four time home owner Hazel Wood is a slice of paradise. Well managed clean neat and meticulously maintained with plenty of amenities to offer. I have had the opportunity to meet a few of the residents here at Hazel Wood in a short time of moving into Hazel Wood and they were awesome. Hazel Wood appears to be a well knit community with great respect for each other.
Management is CRAZY, and always fighting in the parking lot with spouse late at night. During covid the pools and gym were closed but the manager would hold parties in the pool for their guests only. They will tell you to provide payments in blank money orders. you can hear neighbors arguing all the time, laundry theifs, 2 robberies in the parking lot. just nonsense.
I have lived here for over a year now and honestly can't complain. For the price of the apartments compared to others nearby i think this place is definitely worth it and there super cute. It's conveniently down the street from a lot of different shopping plaza's, only 10-15 minutes to folsom, roseville, rocklin, as well as highway 50 & 80. The property manager Malia is very sweet and accommodating to anything you ask of her. For people complaining about sap on your cars or laundry being stolen.. first there's tree's everywhere in this complex one thing i love about it, it makes it feel more homey and comfortable. It's not the property manager's fault, it's called nature, and yes they do keep up with the maintenance. For the laundry i would suggest just not leaving your laundry in the dryer for over a few hours and i don't think you'll have a problem with it being stolen. I've seen multiple people just leave there laundry sitting in the dryer all day.. what do you expect when doing laundry in a public facility? Overall this place is great and i would highly suggest.
The managers are invasive and passive aggressive. They raised rent and the apartments aren’t worth the asking price. With in four years I’ve lived here it’s gone down hill bad. Just with in the last two weeks. A 19 year old was SHOT AND KILLED in their apartment. We have had issues with our cars being damaged or things stolen. Just a few days ago someone was screaming for someone to help her because her significant other was beating her up at 3 in the morning with a crying baby. No cops came because nobody called it in because Nobody feels safe to put a target on their back here. Quite often there are people who get into the complex that shouldnt be here. However I’m sure the new coat of paint can cover all this up right?
I was a tenant here for a short term as I was considering planting my roots in this area. However a great Job offer came my way which was too far for me to keep my 1bdrm apt throughout the year to travel back and forth. This location has all the necessary amenities to make living here comfortable (swim pool, Xfinity Hotspot Wifi, nice private fitness facility, assigned parking, a clean laundry facility etc...). I must also add that the Complex's apt manager(s) , notably Savada was one of the most courteous, helpful and accommodating apt. managers that I have met in many years of renting . The other staff, notably, Jamie is also courteous and hardworking, and can been seen working on the premises all the time. The location is good, with a Walmart nearby , and this complex is gated which keeps the riff-raff out after hours.
Not only is it extremely hard to ever get a hold of the managers I've caught them looking into my house and peeking over my back fence Sneakily. My car has had over $250 with the damage due to the Pinetree's that the apartment refuses to take care of, even a short parking job requires sap on your paint. I've lived here for 2 years and had my laundry stolen at least 3 times. The office worker Karla who now lives here can be seen after hours fighting with her boyfriend and it's really uncomfortable. Not to mention we have dumpster divers like its permitted here. I'm sick of it, its absolutely not worth what theyre charging or the hassle of dealing with less educated people.
This is a nice little apartment complex tucked away on Hazel Avenue. Karla and Brittany in the leasing office are so helpful and nice. This place has a great pet policy! I don't have to pay pet rent per pet, it's just an extra $25 a month for up to 2 pets. I love that. Laundry is onsite, as well as a gym, and a pool. It's been quiet ever since I moved in and I haven't had a problem! Short term leases are available, even month to month terms. The deposit is the lowest I could find. These apartments are right next to Walmart which is very convenient! There's lots of guest parking inside the gates, and I have my own carport spot. Overall I'm quite pleased with the place. I give 4 out of 5 stars because it is not a high-class, luxury apartment complex, but it's still all I need. :D
"looks great". they keep appearance up.. I signed a 6 month lease for 980 a month for a " new" one bedroom ...towards the end of my lease I got a letter stating they were bumping rent up to 1200 a month if I wanted a 6 month again 9 was 1100 no 6 month offer...fine by me if... they had fixed their pool in the summer for over a month.. bottom floor apartments have rat problems and they wwill never tell you walmart next door gets their plants taken care of at 1 am... they will let anyone who can afford to live here live here... the gated part would be nice if they had a guard making sure their arent randoms wandering the property
