Property Ratings at Hazelwood Apartment Homes
This has been the worst apartment experience. We were left with no hot water for nearly 3 months. We were promised that this issue would be fixed, but it took 3 months to get the hot water back. When moving out, I was told I would receive my deposit within 2-4 weeks. It has been 6 months since I moved out and I have not received anything yet. When I have tried to contact the property manager, which changes monthly, I have been told that the check is "on its way." I have even contacted Tarantino company and have not been helped. I have never been more dissatisfied with an apartment/management company as much as I am with DoveTree Apartments. It is so unfair to do this to its residents. I wish more people would know about the quality and service about these apartments.
Dove tree is under new management, and rocks! These guys are doing their best to fix all the janky problems the old managment left behind. These guys make it a joy to live here.
Moved in Oct, 2015. Management companies have come and gone, water issue (no hot water for 16 months) has finally been resolved in month 17 of my lease. The swamp that was the dog park has finally been permanently dried up. The pavement that was an enormous cost to repave, was just a paint job and is now worse with big potholes throughout the property than when I moved in. Exterior lighting has been out for 5 months and counting (supposedly having to order the lights and the company to come out to repair/replace), with many dark/unsafe areas through which I walk only with my 2 pups during the evening, otherwise wouldn't. Awnings fly off in the wind that have been dangling for 2-3 months, making it known to the maintenance or managers, just waiting for a law suit to happen when one injures someone walking to their unit. But meantime, pet rent has now been added, $20/month. The monthly fees for pest control went from $1/month to $5, and forget seeing someone at your unit to spray but twice/year. There is now an administration fee of $4/month when there was none when I first moved here, when all they've successfully administered is higher fees. The trash went from $5/month to $8/month, and now trash flies around the property every time those guys come, I know, charge us more $$ but make living here more disgusting, fitting. The gas, which only heats the water, had been in the $8/month range, which is laughable considering there was no hot water for the dish washer nor shower for over 16 months, is now in the $11-$14/month. Even more laughable when I pay my own electricity which is in consistent use and never tops $13/month. There never used to be an administration fee. Now one exists at $50. I've 2 work orders that are still open, one from last year, yes, I'm writing this at the end of May, and one in Feb, that have yet to be addressed. Writing this in hopes to educate others as they research where they next want to live. The new property managers have new polos for the non-office staff, have raised rates and implemented more fees. Curious what they'll do to actually improve the property safety and livability of the residents.
I usually don't write reviews but I wish someone would have been straight up in a review before we considered this awful place. Often times you think to yourself surely they can't be thaaat bad or I bet the person writing this is just a negative Nancy but not in this case. These are all true! Where to start? Well first off we were promised 3 different units upon move in. Finally got one that was filthy and not ready upon move in. It was caked in nicotine with yellow walls so thick you could scrape it off. They moved us and assured us Noone would stay in it again. (They rented it a week later). We have been in our unit for 5 months and still have no running water in one of our bathrooms because it's not a "maintenance emergency" (whatever that means?) The hot water is spotty and we did not have it for 3 months! The management women are incredibly arrogant, disrespectful, and above all condescending. They are great at talking the talk (for example the reply to the previous review) but you will see through that after you move in. They try to cover things up or just leave everything vague so you can't hold them accountable to their own lease agreement. I watched them evict people for $30 during Christmas and they will put a notice on your door the day after rent is due (even if they change your lease agreement payment day). The maintenence staff is kind and knowledgeable. Now the most concerning part is safety. This place is scary. We have been stalked and broke into. There are police here weekly. Od problems and underage drinking. Guns out in the open. Creepers behind the fence of the backing property. Coyote packs in the complex and howling most nights. People drift through these apartments for sport. Above all else it's sketch. Don't do it! There are other places in town. Go camp! Whatever you do don't sign that lease!

We appreciate your detailed feedback. Please know that we take our residents' concerns very seriously. As you may know, our property's water supply was affected by the problems with our boiler system a few months ago. We have now rectified the problem. We appreciate your patience and understanding in this matter. Due to a leaky faucet caused by the installation of the new valve stems, the water in your bathroom has been turned off. We ensure you this is only temporary and we are working on restoring water to your bathroom as soon as we solve the problem. Our policies regarding rent payment have not changed. As stated in your lease agreement, rent is always due on the 1st of every month for every resident. If you have any questions about the policies stated in your lease agreement or would like to report suspicious activity in our community, please reach out to our office. We want all of our residents to feel happy and comfortable in their own apartment homes. Thank you for taking the time to write this review and for communicating with us to improve your living experience.
Water issues never get resolved. Dog park is a swamp. Maintenance will never come out. The office is open randomly and never as scheduled so if you need to pick up a package or reload your laundry card expect to have to wait a day or two to get in. The cheap rent used to make up for all the bad, but in recent months the complex has taken a dramatic sketchy turn. People that don't live here are always lurking around at night. Cars literally race and speed through the parking lots. Laundry keeps getting stolen. Doors and windows get tampered with if it seems like you're not home. The people in the office don't seemed to be alarmed by any of this though. Save yourself the trouble and look elsewhere.

It is disappointing that you have such a negative opinion about our community. Our goal is to make Dove Tree a place where all of our residents are comfortable and happy. We are interested in speaking with you about the issues you mentioned in your review. We appreciate all feedback from our residents because it helps us improve our residents' living experience. Please give us a call at 210-319-2210. Our Regional Manager, Thomas, will be ready to address any concern. Thank you for your review.
I signed a 6 month lease and have three months to go. From day one I've had maintenance issues. When you put in a maintenance request they never send anyone out to even look at the problem, they just give you excuse after excuse. Whatever you do don't sign a leave with these people.

We apologize for the delayed response. The situation you mentioned in your review is not the kind of experience we aim to provide our residents. We would like to discuss this matter further with you at your earliest convenience. We encourage you to reach out to our Regional Manager, Thomas, at 210-319-2210. He will be waiting for your call. We appreciate your review.
I have lived in dove tree since January. NO ONE MENTIONED THAT THE BOILERS WERE OUT AND THAT WE WOULD NOT HAVE HOT WATER, so we were Mislead into signing a lease and thinking we found a great place, wrong this place is absolutely horrible, I couldn't even bathe my child, I had to go to my parents house for that. They don't actually fix anything either. So to summarize, they will mislead you and lock you into a lease, they barely repair anything, and the one I didn't mention earlier is that they have some manager from stone creek who thinks she manages this place calls the dove tree residents and tells them that they are late on rent and that she hasn't received it... Yeah you didn't receive my rent because you are not a manager at my property. Stay at stone creek and never call dove tree residents again, because you are clueless, rude, and have no business trying collect money from any residents other than yours at stone creek.

We appreciate your feedback. Please know that it is our goal to be transparent with our residents about any problems in the property and we are sorry if there was any kind of miscommunication with management. Dove Tree belongs to a family of properties that are willing to help each other out when there is a need. Sometimes, a manager from our sister properties may come by and help us carry out certain tasks. We appreciate our residents' understanding in this matter. If you would like to discuss the items in your review further, please reach out to our Regional Manager, Thomas, at 210-319-2210. He would be more than happy to address any question. Thank you.
I have lived in Dovetree apartments in Tyler, Tx for 10 months and cant wait for my lease to be up. Right after I moved in they were constantly working on the water so were turning it off from 9am to 4pm several days a week. This was going on around Thanksgiving. They use a boiler system which were out dated and only put out luke warm water which sucks when its cold outside. After they supposedly fixed water valves they started leaking at corner of my apartment which flooded my livingroom. They took a week to fix it andhad big machines in my apartment to dry it. About 6 weeks later the same pipe started spraying water again flooded my apt. They took 2 weeks to fix and now there is a big bulging moldy spot along the base board of wall. Then my A/C started leaking and it took 3 tries and 2 different men to figure out how to clear the drain on A/C. The manager tries to get things done but the corporation that owns this place are tight wads who dont hire good maintenance staff.
