Property Ratings at Heatherbrook
RUN DO NOT RENT!!!! I moved in 12/2021 and lived there for 1 yr. Rhonda moved me in with no A/C unit and the electricity in the building's name - they did not tell me any of this when I moved in. I found out by maintenance accidently letting it slip. I went to the office since temps were going to be in the 80s but all I got from Rhonda was that she won't talk about A/C until it gets to 90. I am sorry but who is she to tell me when I can use my air. All she did was cry and kept telling me that she was only doing what she was told to do by MGMT & that she needed to retire. I got upset, raised my voice & got kicked out of the office. I talked to the Century Group. When I questioned Haley on the electric bills & asked if she would send them as they received them, she said yes. I then received all at once and she told me that's how they received them. HAHA - guess she did not realized that her office had date stamped them when they were received so she lied to me. I work from home. I noticed one day that an electrician was heading toward my meter. I went outside & found out that my electric was going to be turned off for a while so they could fix the meter. I asked why I wasn't told and maintenance told me I should have been told since this was scheduled back in January. Once again, Rhonda, Hailey and everyone else failed to do their job. When I asked the office about this, they referred me to the Century Group. When I asked Haley about it - her answer was - we do not control Ameren. Seriously? can you not answer my question. That was not what I asked. I know you do not control Ameren, why wasn't I told my electric was being turned off when you knew about it for months? My daughter lived there for 2 years (which is why I waited on this). Her building was disgusting - smelled like cat urine. Maintenance moved her thermostat but never fixed the hole - just left a big hole in the wall. My building's hallway had dead bugs and trash for weeks. This place is not kept up. Rhonda also likes closing maintenance tickets without the work being done. She tried to deny this so I had to take pictures and show her the work was not done. Through all of this, I requested a meeting with owners/management. Rhonda told me it will never happen and Haley just ignored me. I do not understand the lack of communication and in all of my years renting, I have never had such a negative experience. I hope this saves someone from renting from this horrible group.
This is a nice place temporarily until you can find something else better. It’s really small inside and they don’t provide any storage inside or outside They are a bit over priced for that reason. At least provide basement storage.... so if you have a lot of stuff. Don’t move here. Other than that. It’s a pretty decent place. The pool and dog park is nothing special. The master bedroom is 20 degrees cooler than the rest of the apt. The cabinets and floors are dated. Maintenance request always taken care of and the leasing lady is nice.
My family lived there for 3 years. Under the first company, there was excellent customer service. Office workers knew your name, and they encouraged community events. Within the last year, the company has changed to Century Group. Horrible customer service. They are looking to make money in way that they can, and they don't treat residents as people. They significantly raised rates for damages, breakage fees, and late payments. Instead of accepting checks at the office, they make you mail them. They overcharge you at check out. Any time that you visit the office, it is clear that you are not a priority. They make you feel guilty for "inconveniencing" them with you questions. Over the summer, they were inconsistent with pool hours and office hours. They didn't keep residents informed about anything. Several residents are leaving because of the change. A year ago, I would have written a great review, but this Century Group ruined our experience even after we left. If you move in, expect to pay more than your deposit when checking out.
Complex has been sold in the last several months, and what was the norm with GEM properties is not so now with The Century Group. Everything has changed ! Hard to reach the office and maintaince at times as they aren't here during all normal business hours..Everything here has changed and not for the better.Reviews older than 2 to 3 months mean nothing now.Landscaping is next to none, we are their only property that pays water, sewer and trash, and that bill is high. If things don't change here we wont renew our lease .I hope Century Group reads their reviews. Please speak to someone who lives here before signing anything.
Very nice and clean. Perfect neighborhood for families.
This is a great place to live. The apartment building I live in is quiet and well maintained. Grounds are well kept and nicely landscaped; buildings are well kept - exteriors maintained and entry ways kept clean. The staff has always been friendly and helpful and maintenance problems resolved quickly. I would recommed it to anyone.
The apartment we found using apartments.com is very nice and comfortable. Feels like home
I recently moved into Heatherbrook Gardens Apartments and when i say they are like family i mean they are like family. Throughout the Application Process, Holly and Amy Worked tirelessly and with me to get me into the apartment. even when i had a issue with my credit check( multiple names) they worked with me to resolve the issue rather than deny my application. To top it off, Holly used to manage the apartment complex i just recently moved from. Now if that is not divine providence,(to me it is) i do not know what to tell you. And i already got to know my neighbors as well. Looking forward to a very long stay.
Great management and maintenance staff. We have needed maintenance a few times, mainly due to the washer dryer but they have been very quick to fix. However, if they gave us a new one instead of a refurb we might not have had to call them as much. Still very easy to deal with and want to make their residents happy. Dog mess is dealt with, parking lot is maintained, common spaces are cleaned regularly. Pool is nice but needs to be cleaned/leveled more often during the week to make it a little more comfortable but never gross. We really like living here. It is fairly quiet with nice families and people.
