The Village of Patchogue sits on the south shoreline of Long Island in Suffolk County. Part of the town of Brookhaven, the community was incorporated in 1893, and is now home to a variety of fine dining establishments and breweries. Lombardi’s on the Bay is a popular spot to dine and has great water views.
The beautiful neighborhood, combined with a low cost of living and proximity to New York City, makes Patchogue an ideal place to live. You’ll love everything about your apartment – like how it’s close to Shorefront and Rider Avenue Parks.

Property Ratings at Heatherwood House at Patchogue
The complex is old and needs alot of tlc. The unit may say stainless steel but its really not and they say kitchen upgrade and you get some 1980s looking appliances next is not one person to patrol the area and some crash into a building when I leased
This place is a dump, don't rent here, it may look appealing at first but you will quickly see it is a complete waste of your hard earned money. Lots of sleezy people walking around, no security at night, the units may have stainless steel appliances but they are old as the hills. Wait till you turn on the a/c sounds like a jet engine in your living room.
This apartment complex is in a great location, especially with how Patchogue has transformed into a bustling town. But the complex is one you want to avoid, it constantly has the police in the parking lot, their is always interesting characters walking around, the units are old and not updated, and the emails they send out are pathetic. A few months ago we had the cops at the building by us and the cops were on every corner telling residents to stay inside, they are here regularly so beware. The units are old, the heating system is old and hard to control the temperature. They regularly send emails on all the things you can't do, can't hang a beach towels.on your balcony, like come on people you really are going to fine me for putting a beach towel on my balcony. Maybe you should send an email on the dog poop all over in the grass everywhere, in the parking lot, etc. Oh and maintenance is always staring at everything you do, they are really nosey people. The sketchy characters that walk around the complex are also an issue. For the price of apartments I expect a better overall experience and apartment.
My apartment is spacious! The MAINTENANCE STAFF are always friendly, professional, well groomed, knowledgeable, helpful, efficient and consistently working. They are always doing their job. 8am, they're picking up ALL litter (even under cars!). The few times my apartment needed services: they resolved the issue/fixed the problem the same day! They never complain nor grumble about their jobs. They are an excellent, productive TEAM! Supreme customer service I AM GRATEFUL TO THEM AND TO RESIDE HERE!
Heatherwood in Patchogue is extremely terrible. Maintenance drives around watching you and reports untrue things to the office. It’s not a private home , it’s like your renting a room from the office. They walk into your apartment when they feel like it, they even went and took my mail out of my box because they thought I wasn’t there. Creepy people walk all around the place trying to talk to you and don’t stop. The cops and ambulance are literally there once a week. And that’s not even an exaggeration. I can’t wait to move out but if you try to leave early, they keep your security, which I head they usually never give back. And also make you pay 4 months rent for early termination. So it makes no sense. This complex is horrible. Don’t rent from here !!
The maintenance staff is always helpful and responsive. I love the fact that the grounds are always cleaned everyday. I would suggest this place to my friends and family.
Living in Heatherwood Apartment for 8 years very good apartment complex! In Patchogue Maintenance is very respectful and kind and very helpful and on call 24 hours 7 days a week! Heatherwood Main Office is very nice employees and very helpful never had any problems in eight years I would recommend Heatherwood apartments!

Property Manager at Heatherwood House at Patchogue, Responded To This Review
Thank you so much for this wonderful 5 Star Review. We really appreciate you taking the time to let us know how we are doing. Thanks again for being a valued Heatherwood resident.
We also left this property because of the maintenance manager who is a nightmare. He would send maintenance into our apartment with no work order all the time. We'd be coming out of the shower and there's a workman standing at the top of the stairs; and they refused to let us put up a chain lock on the door that would solve this problem. They said it was some fire ordinance rule that they had to be able to enter in case of a fire. If there was a fire, the Fire Dept can easily cut that chain. It was all a rouse to constantly harass people. We put locks on our bedroom doors so that when we left the apartment maintenance wasn't coming in because we found dirty handprints on our white dresser drawers one day. After that we had stuff missing in our kitchen and it looked like some of the stove burners had been switched out because they looked different from the last one left working. By the end of our time living there, only one burner was working. We made multiple complaints about this manager & one by one each burner stopped working & there were different manufacturer stamps on the center so you could tell they were different. We never got loud w/ them because we love the maintenance staff but the manager is not only creepy & a snoop, but, (though we have no proof) we believe he was taking things and swapping out our stove burners. Who else would or could do that? Finally, during the last 8 months of our time there, we saw a change in the residents, more retirees & less working families. I don't know if that is still the case. We left over a year ago & waited to write this review because we wanted to be sure we got our deposit & I think we just wanted the distance. It became tiring. Oh, & one more thing, at the time when we were leaving the maintenance manager was saying that he is now the "Property Manager" at 77 Waverly Avenue, Patchogue, NY (We thought it was called The Heatherwood Apartments back then. Maybe they changed the name to "Heatherwood House at Patchogue". Don't know.) But, now you know. Buyer beware.
So far I have been living over at Leatherwood apartments in Patchogue for a little over 3 weeks and i have to say i love it so far. Building i live in is quiet, people are nice and the superintendent is on call when ever he is needed. If anyone i new was looking to move i would highly recommend the place. I moved from renting in a home and this is so much better. Just wish all of these complexes were a little more affordable especially on long island. For a one bedroom I have to pay 1419 a month plus my cable, internet and electric. I go to school and work full time, trying to pursue a career in law enforcement. Winning the rent free for life would truly be a blessing in helping me not have to worry if i will have enough money at the end of the month to pay rent and give me the freedom to really concentrate on my work.
The location is perfect and close to everything (stores, schools, etc.). The staff onsite are okay.
we moved to patchogue to be near restaurants, and a main street.. and that's my favorite part of living here. we can walk to so much. only downfalls are, kitchen needs some updating, and a sometimes annoying downstairs neighbor who plays music/tv way too loud. other than that, we love it here!
I think there's should be hardwood or laminate floors. There's great lighting from the big windows but it should have a light in the livingroom ceiling. I love the big closets, my son loves playing in them cause there is so much room.
The place is not keep up it looks like a dump but the rent keeps going up.
I was warned that his HH complex was not well maintained. I’m unable to drive and missed many other opportunities for an apt. HH put on a good show outside but once you are in you will sdiscover its all show and no substance. The maintenance manager is the worst I’ve seen Do yourself a favor and checkout other opportunities. They allow leaks to remain.
