The towns of Bloomfield and Windsor border the Connecticut River, with Bloomfield directly north of the University of Hartford. This area is rich with history and provides a fantastic, tree-filled setting dotted with historic architecture. Bloomfield is bordered by Penwood State Park and Talcott Mountain State Park, both of which offer stunning views and terrific places for hiking and nature-watching. As the first English settlement in Connecticut, Windsor was settled in 1633. It still features its colonial charm with fantastic historic sites like the Oliver Ellsworth Homestead, a National Historic Landmark dating to 1781, and the Hezekiah Chaffee House, a historic house museum that was built around 1765.
Bloomfield and Windsor are located on the north side of Hartford, and Interstate 91 divides these two towns for easy commutes to downtown, just six miles away.

Since day one Heirloom Flats has felt like home. Everyone is so kind, friendly, helpful, and just overall very welcoming. Everything we’ve experienced from our first tour of the building to actually moving in and getting settled has been beyond what we could have hoped. The front office and maintenance teams are helpful, responsive and just plain nice - combinations you don’t find as often lately. The building itself is well-maintained and stocked with awesome amenities that make it feel like we’re on vacation. It’s a little pricey but well worth the money!

Heirloom Flats is truly home, through and through. Everything from the staff to the amenities to the community, it has all always felt so comfortable. The community is amazing and simply irreplaceable. Moving here was the best decision we made! The office and maintenance team are top notch and so responsive! The building itself is beautiful and so well maintained. I have loved living here! The staff is so kind and helpful. And the amenities are great. I wish it was located a little closer to West Hartford center, but the drive isn’t so bad. I love entertaining guests here and my neighbors have all been friendly!

Great place to live. Gym is well equipped. Very very dog friendly, although our dog is not that much, convenient to stores pharmacies and restaurants within walking distance….not having to shovel Snow is a plus. Like it a lot so far.

The administration find creative ways to engage the residents in a communal activity; like the wall prompts (what are you grateful for, Highlights from 2022). Its great to be surrounded by a community of animal lovers. The staff are incredibly warm and approachable; always willing to help. The seasonal decorations are wonderful and festive. I love the summer community garden plots and the barbeque; thats when i meet the most people.

Very happy here. Good people. Great amenities. Close to West Hartford and my office in Hartford. Quiet during the day for when I work remotely. Waking distance to the Republic, CVS, Subway, Dunkin, and The Italian bakery. New Starbucks nearby with a drive-thru. Short drive to two great golf courses: Gillette Ridge and Wintonbury Hills.

Super friendly, welcoming staff and residents. Each month hosts many opportunities from food trucks, active living, and social activities. It’s great to go to gym and grab a cup of coffee every morning to start the day. Love the beautiful lobby area with lots of seating options. The apartments feature a great open living area concept with lots of cupboard space in the kitchen. Good location to easily access local shopping and outdoor adventures.

I am absolutely loving it here! The management is so helpful in everything and everyone is so nice & lively and the apartment is beautiful! The amenities are absolutely fantastic. So happy I chose to live here.

Summer at Heirloom Flats is just the greatest! From the pool, to the food trucks, to the events, and the location, everything is just perfect! Year round, the perfect doesn’t stop. They have great events all year long, the facilities are excellent (I’m particularly fond of the amazing gym and VR room), the staff is sooo nice, and my apartment itself is great. The surrounding area is very safe and has a lot of food options, and is very close to all Hartford has to offer, which was very important to me as well. Moving here is one of the best decisions you’ll ever make.

Heirloom Flats is one of the most amazing places to live in Connecticut. During my time here, I felt like I was at home. The staff is respectful, friendly, and overall helpful! I never had a problem once in my two years there. The grounds surrounding the apartment are extremely well kept. The downstairs lobby are immaculate and clean. The number of amenities, food trucks, and events is unlike any other apartment complex and sets them apart. I couldn't be happier with my time at Heirloom Flats.
